Chapter 66

ZESA RUSSO

A hard knot constricted my throat when I heard Sophia’s scream. Something was wrong. I curled my fingers around the cold metal doorknob and twisted it, praying to God that Nina hadn’t done something to Sophia. The girl was annoying as hell, but I didn’t want any harm to come her way. Who would I show off to if something bad was to happen to her?

“Sophia.” I pounded my fist on the door when I realized it was locked. “Sophia!”

Something was definitely wrong.

“Help!” I shouted, glancing around. “Somebody, please help!” Two men who’d probably accompanied someone to the hospital came to help as well as a nurse. “Something has happened to Sophia. We need to get to her.”

“Step aside.” One man said, moving backward.

We obeyed, and I watched in fascination as he ran to the door. In one kick, he brought the door down. Was the door not strong enough, or was he really strong? Either way, he impressed me. I ran into Sophia’s office and went behind her desk. The sight of her b
