“On behalf of the Emperor and Empress of the Taiyou Empire. We bring news of a young lady from your Empire. A strange disease has been spreading across our Empire and this young lady has volunteered to help eradicate this disease. As we have agreed, the young lady shall do her best to help the people of the Taiyou Empire in exchange for her life.” The eunuch finished reading the letter. The whole audience chamber was quiet. Neither the emperor nor the chancellor knew what to say. All of us already knew who the young lady the letter was referring to. I kept quiet and waited for my father’s orders.

“Well then, since you’ve introduced me to my niece, who are these two men?” He asked while pointing to Primo and Niccolo. My mother stood up from the chair and walked closer to her brother. “This is Primo and Niccolo, my son-in-laws. Primo is Luna’s husband.” My mother said. She was beside herself with happiness and I could tell she was just about ready to say anything about the family. I quickly intervened before she could have the chance to say more. “By the way….uncle…. Why are you here in New York?” I asked. I could barely say the word uncle when referring to him. I don’t think I could ever see him as my uncle. There was something about him that I couldn’t put my finger on and I’m starting to get suspicious of his intentio ns.
