Chapter 51
Jessica widened her eyes in shock as her face turned slightly pale. They had been married for three years, but he still hated her. For the sake of her family, she had taken his happiness and his pride away, forcing him to suffer with her in this grave of a marriage. She bit her lip tightly. It was then that knocks came from the door. Ms. Susan came in with the medicine and said, “Sir, the medicine is ready.” Blake stared at Jessica. He ought to watch her finish the medicine this time. Jessica held the bowl of medicine in her hands. She really wanted to throw it into his face, but she knew the consequences of doing so. In the end, she could not do anything but swallow her grief together with the bitter medicine. The bitterness filled her mouth. Just when she wanted to have a candy to clean her palate, she was lifted up whole and tossed onto the bed. Before she could even react, Blake tore her pajamas off as if he had captured his prey. Then, he quickly got on top of her.

Chapter 52
Kim getting Blake mad had nothing to do with her being superior in front of Jessica. Jessica thought that Kim came by to teach Winson, so she barely cared about what she said. On the contrary, Kim did not come because Blake had told her to or for the project. Instead, she was only there to distribute the invitation. She took two invitation cards out from her bag and put them in front of Jessica. “It’s my mother’s birthday tomorrow, and my father wants to throw her a party. I hereby sincerely invite you and Mr. Ferguson to attend my mother’s humble birthday party. Please do come.” Jessica looked down at the red invitation cards and stayed quiet. She did not give Kim a reply immediately. She was not allowed to attend any kind of dinner, party, or event. Kim had worked for the Fergusons for some time now, so she was quite close to Lady Cecilia. Therefore, it was unlikely that she did not know Jessica was forbidden to attend public events. Therefore, Kim giving Jessica the invita

Chapter 53
“What’s wrong? Is your bed at home so stiff that you have to come here to sleep on my chair?” Moses kicked Blake softly.“I must say, if you want to sleep, go inside and sleep properly. I don’t have mermaids in my pond for you to fish.” Blake was not asleep at all. He was just relaxing his mind. “I’ll cut your leg off if it’s too itchy.” Blake glanced at the shoe mark on his pants and tossed the book at Moses’ leg. “Tsk, grumpy man. Are you not satisfied with your sex life?” Moses dodged the book and moved closer to Blake, resembling a mischievous imp trying to pluck the tiger’s whisker. “What’s wrong? Can’t the little mute girl satisfy you?” Blake glared at him and pushed his disgusting face away. He said in an upset tone, “I’m fine, thank you!” Moses dug his ear and staggered backward, falling back on the chair. “Okay, okay, I get it. You don’t need to be this loud.” The rustling of footsteps sounded behind Moses. It was actually a pair of indoor slippers being dragged a

Chapter 54
Frank could not afford to make Jane mad, so he pointed at Blake and teased, “Master Ferguson here is complaining about his wife.” When Jane turned around and saw Blake’s stiff look, she asked, “What’s wrong?” Jessica was already mute, hence she barely had a presence in the family and had always been the target of bullying, so what could have caused her to offend him this time? Frank then repeated what Blake had said about Jessica to Jane. Jane nonchalantly grunted and said, “Mr. Ferguson, I never noticed this before, but aren’t you being a little too egoistic?” Blake looked at her coldly. “What do you mean?” Jane took a bite from Frank’s chicken egg sandwich and had a sip of milk from his glass before she said with squinted eyes, “Look around you. You are surrounded by friends with bad influence, but what about her back at home? Who does she have?” Her own brother had sold her away, the husband she was married to treated her badly, and her mother-in-law constantly pressured

Blake glanced around the house and asked, “Where’s Ma’am?” Not even his son was at home. Miss Susan said, “Ma’am brought little Winson out for some sun.” Blake grunted in reply. When he walked past the dining area, he saw the red invitation cards on the table. He picked one up but did not open it. “Who sent this?” Miss Susan saw the invitation card, she subtly rolled her eyes white at it. Throughout her entire life, she had never seen someone who was not yet the mistress act so arrogantly as if she was already the mistress. As a housekeeper, it was inappropriate for her to be a busybody about her boss’s family matters, but she could not hold it back anymore. She said, “Miss Jackson came by earlier to send this. She said it’s an invitation for you and Ma’am to attend her mother’s birthday party.” Blake frowned when he heard that, and his gaze looked slightly unhappy. Miss Susan noticed the change in her boss’s expression, so she mustered enough courage and continued, “Sir,

A while later, Blake arrived at the aquarium, but the place was huge, thus searching for a mother and child was not an easy task. Fortunately, the pair he sought was unusual, and he found them after shuttling through a few sections. Jessica carried Winson around for almost the whole trip and her arms were starting to get sore, so she sat down on the bench for a rest. Winson was a cute toddler. Many young girls that visited the aquarium ignored the fishes and surrounded the little guy instead. They played with him and even took pictures with him. Jessica was happy that her son was meeting so many different people. She believed in enriching his world as he should not just limit his circle to wealthy and superior socialites. She was drinking water beside him while little Winson was being carried around like a treasured prize. After being hugged by everyone, the little guy’s pocket was filled with candy, and he even got a cute fox ear headband. Jessica put Winson on her lap and t

Chapter 57
Jessica looked at the man in front of her. He looked like he knew the place quite well. Was he a regular? Just before her mind drifted away, Blake stopped. Winson pointed at the big turtle that swam across their heads and giggled. “Mama, look! Big boat!” Blake corrected him, “It’s not a boat. It’s a turtle.” When Jessica looked up, she saw another turtle swimming over. The two large turtles flipped their flippers like rowing oars, and they looked like a couple playing in the water. Beside Jessica was another young couple, and the guy started to sing, “I want you by my side and we will watch that turtle swim in the sea. It slowly crawls out of the water as we watch the waves crash…” The girl smiled and the two of them took a selfie together with the turtle. Jessica was envious of them. She was almost their age but…she had no idea what love or youth was. Before she could experience love, she had become someone’s mother and someone’s wife. Jessica retracted her gaze, not wan

There were a lot of pictures on her phone. She usually cleared her phone when she uploaded the pictures into her laptop, but after a whole day outside, it was filled with pictures again. She scrolled through the pictures and got to the picture of Blake and Winson. Winson’s cute little face looked exactly like Blake’s. He was like a mini Blake. If she was not Winson’s mother, it was difficult for her to imagine that the icy-cold Blake would have looked that cute when he was younger. She started to imagine what Winson would look like when he grew older. Would he be as cool and stiff as Blake? Jessica shook her head as she would rather not think about it. Her son should not be as stiff as Blake, who was as cold as ice all day long. He was not cute at all. Her thoughts strayed further away while she wondered if Blake had ever smiled in his life or if he had been born like that? However, that should not be the case because she had once heard that Blake had a bright personality.

Chapter 59
Blake tossed the phone back to Jessica and said coldly, “If you simply edit my face again, you will feel my wrath! Get down from the car!” Jessica quickly carried Winson down, barely escaping Blake’s fury. Miss Susan had the bird’s nest ready, and she served it to Jessica when she came in. After Jessica put Winson back in the nursery, she came out for the bird’s nest and bumped into Blake who had just parked the car. She was frightened as if she had just seen a ghost, so she quickly ran back to her room. She had bearded the lion in his den and dared not come out and be an eyesore to the lion anymore. Even during dinner, Jessica did not come out as she said she was full. Blake had dinner alone, but he did not look annoyed. His lips were even curled into a soft grin. After a bath, Jessica sat in front of her laptop and started transferring the pictures from her phone as usual. When she got to the picture of Blake and Winson, she clicked on it to zoom in. It was Winson’s f

Jessica walked closer to Blake and put the towel on his short, stiff hair, and started rubbing it. He was a strange man indeed. There was a hairdryer in the room which could dry his hair faster and more conveniently, yet he did not like the buzzing noise, hence she had to resort to the old-fashioned way. Blake looked at the laptop screen and said, “Come with me tomorrow.” Jessica’s hands froze. She did not sign anything or whatsoever. All she did was stare at his messy short hair. Did she hear him wrongly? Blake noticed that her hands had stopped. When he turned around, he saw that she was petrified, so he asked, “What’s wrong? Can’t you understand what I said?” Jessica really did not understand what he meant. She thought she heard it wrong, but when she saw his impatient look, she was certain that she got it correctly. Something similar had happened in the past before, and it had traumatized Jessica deeply. There was an event to which the husband and wife had been invi
