Chapter Ten: The alpha's son, personal maid
"Yes, he will be able to save you from Alpha Pharaoh," Francine assured me. "He helped me by bringing me into this world by raping my mother," I told her while I sobbed, "so how would he want to help me again?" Francine stared at me while her bottom lip jumped as if she wanted to tell me something, something that she shouldn’t. "If I do decide to go to him, how will I find him?" I asked her. "You don't know him?" Francine asked, surprised. "No," I said, shaking my head. Francine held her cheek, the same spot where Alpha Pharaoh had hit her. She lowered her head sadly and stared at the floor then back at me. "I want to help you, but I am scared," she told me. I stared at her until the tears in my eyes prevented me from seeing her. I understood that she too feared the Alpha. I also didn't want to get her into any trouble anymore for I seemed to have that effect—destroying people's life as I had done to my mom's. T

Chapter Eleven: A Terrible evening
I continued to stare at the ceiling as I headed toward the kitchen, almost missing a step and falling on to my face. I caught myself in time. Francine turned around as I entered the kitchen, before going back to finish preparing dinner. "Is everything alright?" she asked me, while she stirred the pot. "Yes," I said, lying to her. Telling her what Apollo had called me to do would be a total waste of time, for she could not save me. All she could do was to show her sympathy. I removed my eyes from Francine and started to worry about doing it again. Would he call me to give him a bath every day?  Looking back to see if Francine had finished dinner, I was startled to see her watching me. "Are you sure you're alright?" she asked me again. I nodded, lying to her again. "Okay," she said, and returned to her duty. "Please pass me the plates for dinner," she said. I went for five plates and passed them to her, knowing the A

Chapter Twelve: The alpha's older son and the powerful scent
He sighed heavily, sat up in bed, and stared at the white walls of his room that were covered with scratch marks that he’d made. His room or a cell, as he sometimes called it, was without windows, preventing him from escaping. His father had made it that way, so he wouldn't hurt anyone. His wolf was far greater than his human form and could not be controlled. Staying in his room was the only way he could protect his loved ones and others. He hated that he had to be locked away in his room, but he had no choice. He didn't want to hurt anyone. But he was lonely. How could he free himself from that cell when he couldn't control his wolf? It was too aggressive and only wanted to kill or create chaos.  He lowered his head and stared at the tiles, all smashed up by the beast inside him. He wondered if he would ever find love or would be able to love without hurting his mate. He got up from his bed and sadly walked over to the walls that were marred by the claws of his

Chapter Thirteen: Should I forgive him?
I stood silently in the kitchen. My mind wandered. Why had Apollo’s behavior changed toward me? I shook my head, not wanting to think about him being a good person. I thought Josh was good, but in the end he'd hurt me badly. "What happened in the dining room?" Francine’s loud voice interrupted by thoughts. Her voice was insistent, wanting me to answer her. I shivered. I was so lost in thought, trying to figure out Apollo's strange behavior that I'd totally forgotten about her. "Nothing happened," I again lied to her. I really do hate that I kept on lying to her, but I did not wish for her to find out what had happened between me and Josh. I wanted to forget it and pretend that it never happened and move on. "Okay," she said, staring at me with great curiosity, before walking to the sink. I turned to look at her as she placed all of the dirty dishes and pots on the left side of the kitchen counter. "Please wash all the dishes, then you

Chapter Fourteen: Josh the player
"No, Josh," I said, moving my head aside, not wanting him to kiss me anymore. "What is wrong?" he asked me. "Aren't you enjoying this as well?" I moved away from him, hiding my body with my sheet and sat at the side of the bed, while he rested on his knees in the middle of the bed, anxious to touch me again. I heard his heavy breathing while he stared at me. "Don't you forgive me, Rose?" I suddenly felt a strange feeling within me, hatred of the name he had given me. "My name is not Rose," I snapped. I felt the bed move as he rolled over to sit next to me. He ran the back of his hand against mine. I quickly got up and walked toward the closed door, standing in front of it, facing Josh. He lowered his head in disappointment and stared at the floor. Then he lifted his head and stared back at me. "What can I do to make you trust me again?" he asked me, seeming to be sad. I then remembered his mate, my cousin Emma.

Chapter Fifteen: The sick minded family
"Bang! Bang!" I heard a knock on the door. "Bang! Bang!" It came again. I slowly opened my eyes. I was still there on the same spot where I had fallen last night, after Josh had hurt me. Tears again filled my eyes as his harsh words echoed in my ears like the ringing of a bell, haunting me. "It's time to work," I heard a voice say. I jumped up immediately, realizing it was Francine waiting for me. How long was I asleep? I ran to open the door. "I'm sorry, Francine," I apologized to her. She looked at me without smiling on seeing that I was still dressed in the same clothes that she'd left me in the night before. "I'm in the kitchen waiting on you. Change your clothes immediately, and don't let this day repeat itself," she said, and exited my room. I quickly changed, putting on a long green dress with white flowers. It was beautiful. I loved it, and it sat on my body like my second skin. I ran to the kitchen and saw Francine sha

Chapter Sixteen: The red-haired maid
The room he'd been locked up in for years because of the angry dark wolf living inside him was like a small apartment. There was a living room, his bedroom, and a bathroom. His mother, the Luna, had designed the space, wanting him to be comfortable, but how could he feel relaxed living a life where he was unable to control his beast? He was locked away from everyone, his family, and most of all from ever finding his one true mate.  He'd started to worry about his mate, even though he'd never met her. He thought about how sad she must be, not being able to find him. He angrily sank his fingers into the bed sheet, ripping it, thinking how heartbroken his mate must be, being out there trying hard to find him. Many such thoughts filled his head as he worried about other male wolves taking advantage of her and hurting her. He howled, angry at the thought of anyone hurting her, causing an echo in his room. "Moon Goddess," he said, softly. "Please take care of my mate

Chapter Seventeen: Reaching out to his terrified mate
Christian walked back toward the couch and sat. He wanted her to see that he had no intention of hurting her. He wanted to know who had filled his mate's head with rubbish, causing her to fear him. Yes, he was dangerous to be around, very, but within his human form he was the nicest person you could ever meet. What did he expect? He was born an Alpha and would one day be the ruler when his father, Alpha Pharaoh, was gone. He had to stay on guard at all times, but not around his mate. On hearing her sweet voice, he returned to the present. Her voice was as peaceful as listening to a stream while falling asleep. "Can I clean now, sir?" she asked him, still scared. "Sir," he said out loud, hating that she called him by that word. His wolf wanted his mate to call him by his name. He wanted her to call him Christian. He was hers and she was his. She looked at him. He sensed that she wanted to do the job she had come to do and get the hell out of there, away from h

Chapter Eighteen: The strange wolf in the forest
I kept on hearing his powerful voice in my head. "If anyone hurt you, you know where to find me." I froze, staring at the closed door. I did not know what to make of it, but being around him gave me a strange, unusual feeling, as if I had found someone who loved me and a place I could call home. At first, I was terrified of him, but when he talked, his powerful voice gave me a soothing feeling. I felt that I should stay with him and never leave him. I felt safe with him. I touched the door, running my hand across it, feeling the hardness and the scratch marks which were created by him. I started to wonder why Francine was so terrified of me entering his cell. What if the Alpha had locked him up inside, just like my evil grandmother had done to me and wanted everyone to believe that he was evil? I knew how it felt to be locked up, to be away from everyone and how terrible it was being alone and only meeting the walls of the room every day. I had to sav

Chapter Nineteen: The big black wolf
"No," I said to my wolf, not thinking it wise to change or to go with the strange dark wolf. However, I felt a strong feeling within me as if my wolf wanted to cry. I looked at the red eyed large beast as it howled at me. "What are you doing to my wolf?" I said to it. It was as if it was controlling my wolf with its howls. I heard my wolf speak. "I want to go with him," she said, fighting its way from out of my body. I looked around seeing my beautiful green dress, all torn up, flying all over the place like dead leaves and realized that I was no longer in my human form. I was standing on four feet. "Woo," the wolf in the forest called me again. I felt my feet move and I was running into the forest. I felt a strange feeling of happiness as I ran to meet him. Soon, I was close to him that our faces touched. The wolf howled softly at me. I was no longer afraid of him. I felt safe. I closed my green eyes, as it got even closer to me, rubb
