“Mister said that he didn't have a girlfriend last time and he wants Mommy to be his girlfriend, but why is he getting married to another woman?” Travis was upset. “Mister is a big liar! Uncle Matthew is a big liar as well. I’ve already called him daddy, but he doesn’t want us now!”Christina carried his tiny body in her arms. She knew that her son longed for a father’s love, and he always wanted a father. If he knew that the mister on the television was his dad, he would be very disappointed. For such a cold-blooded father, she hoped Travis would never know who he was.Just then, Francis came back and saw Christina sitting on the couch, watching Michael’s engagement conference. “Christina, are you okay?”“I’m fine, Uncle Francis. I have given up on him long ago.” Francis was worried that Christina would get upset when she saw the news regarding their engagement.Looking at Christina’s tough expression, Francis was especially desolated. “Christina, I promised your mother that I’d

Besides, Michael knew that Christina did not genuinely want to get back together with him.Christina hated Serena, so to call him at such a crucial time, she must want to get even with Serena by ruining their engagement and use this opportunity to embarrass Serena.“Christina, I don’t care why you’re telling me all of this, and I won’t call off the engagement.” Michael finished his sentence before he hung up the phone. She did not want to hear Michael’s voice at all. However, for the sake of Travis, she had to put up with the embarrassment and call him again.Michael’s phone rang twice before he hung up. So she called once again, but he had switched off his phone by then. Christina’s hands fell weakly from her ear. Her whole body was shaking and her face was pale. She was surprised that Michael did not ask her anything, and his words repeated in her mind. ‘No matter what your purpose is, I won’t call off the engagement.’‘Fine, Michael. If anything happens to Travis, I’ll make y

John was worried at first, but he finally breathed when he saw Christina’s behavior. On the stage, Michael slid the ring on Serene’s finger smoothly with a polite smile on his face and no emotion in his eyes. He then subconsciously caught a glimpse of Christina who was standing at the entrance, clapping. Michael blanked out for a moment, and at that moment, Serene took the initiative to tip-toe and kiss him.A cheer rose in the lobby as the applause got louder. The smile on Christina’s face deepened. Only when the both of them kissed did Heather feel relieved. After this ceremony, the wedding would be fixed. She then turned around and looked at Sophia. “Hey, where’s your husband?”“He was still here just now. Maybe he went to the washroom…” Before Sophia could finish her sentence, she saw Christina standing at the entrance with John carrying her luggage by her side.Heather noticed Christina too and her expression grew dark. “Why is she here?”When their family servant, Miss La

“Why is it impossible?” John began to lose his patience when he saw how Heather was looking at him. “I have to go first. Christina hasn’t had her dinner yet.”At that, John strode away from the room. Sophia motioned for Heather to take a seat next to her. As she made her way slowly towards Sophia, Heather looked at her. “What’s going on?”Sophia sighed. “It’s a long story. Christina is Johnny’s daughter with his ex-wife, Molly Williams. They had a misunderstanding a few years back which caused Molly to leave their matrimonial home along with Christina by her side. Sadly they were met with an accident on the way there and her younger brother, Francis never forgave John. He blamed Johnny for the death of his sister and took Christina away. We’ve been looking for Christina all these years but we only managed to get hold of her lately.”Sophia was so used to lying by now that she had excelled in that skill. Using an accident as an explanation, she tried to cover up the fact that she had

“I know, Mom.” As Serena thought about how Heather had threatened to kill herself if Michael did not divorce Christina, she silently made up her mind to please Heather no matter what it took.Christina had taken a cab and headed towards the Garcia family the moment her plane landed. Since she did not manage to rest on the plane, she decided to take a nap in her room instead. After she woke up, she went to the dining room to look for some food.Having washed herself up, Christina now looked totally different from the sloppy woman she was just now. She was refreshed and revitalized, with no trace of tiredness. “Your cooking is still the best, Miss Laura. It’s been such a long time since I tasted your food. It smells so good!” Christina praised as she ate.Miss Laura stood next to her as she looked at Christina. “Do you like it that much, Christina? I’ll cook every day just for you then.” “Thanks, Miss Laura.” Christina let out a sweet smile before she devoured the food in front of
