Prologue
The building up pleasure makes me writhe my body and hot tears blurred my vision. I tried hard to rise and escape however it was futile. The stone hard body as hot as the fire burning within me hindered my movement, the sweaty skin colliding together.    “Euk!” I screamed as the deep thrust penetrated leaving no spaces in between.   In this dim room, which only the moonlight bears the sight of two people becoming one. The walls trap the sounds of heavy breathing that resonate their soul. Which or whom? It can’t be determined as the passion continues. &nbs

1 Barrett Adelaide
It was late night duty again at my part time job, once the trays and other baskets were all washed up, I fastened my movements and arranged it all at the top counter. Careful not to slide or fall, I managed to finish in a minute. I look at the clock, its quarter before eleven, then I pull off the cover and water starts to drain from the main heater. Then I grabbed the mop and raised the pale with sanitizer and soap mixed ready. Swept the floor from right to left as my team lead thought me so it’ll be easier, in fact he is right. It's easier to sweep the dirt and much less effort in sweeping.   “Barrett, you think you’ll be done in a minute? ``The night duty manager called me out, I saw him already removing his tie and preparing to go home, the mini office was almost cleaned up. “Yes sir, I'm just sweeping

2 Barrett is sick of it
“News flash: Yesterday, an accident took place on 14th street in the middle of the night, a car crash and the driver who is a Manager at the Diner Store was rushed to the hospital but didn’t make it.”   I woke up hearing this and I got chills. It was the store Manager, I was shocked that I didn’t notice that my phone was ringing. When I got back to my senses, it was the fifth call from the other Manager, I answered it with trembling hands. [Hello, is this Barrett?] the unfamiliar voice of the woman whom I barely talk with even at the store. “Yes, speaking…” maybe she was to ask about the manager. [Uhm, I’m  sorry to say this on your day off, but have you seen the news

3 Barrett meets the Yngvidrs
I arrive a bit early at the campus, so I have spare time to buy some bread at the cafeteria. Since its lunch time it is crowded and noisier than usual. I immediately spotted the toasted melon bread and grabbed it, then went straight to the counter. “Oh hello Miss Adelaide! “ The kitchen staff Bill greeted me, he is the same age as me and also a classmate in one of my minor subjects. He works as a kitchen staff in the morning and attends classes in the afternoon, it is one of the privileges he has as a student assistant. “Hello there! And what’s with that greeting? Just the name is fine!”I said laughing at how formal he greeted me. We both laughed and he scanned the melon bread I placed on the counter. “Just bread?” he asked,  raising an eyebrow. “Is this your lu

4 Maynard Yngvirds
“Goal!” I heard my teammates yell in joy once the soccer ball hit the opponent's side.   Under this hot steamy morning the pack decided to play to unleash some stress. We have been running every night since the hunting season began. Yes, it's the season we hunt for prey.    We are werewolves shape shifting as humans in day and hunting those damn rogues as wolves at night.   It’s been over several decades since the community started to settle in the human world and pr

“This bitch look at what you have done!” I grabbed her hard by the collar.   Immediately I know it's a human girl, maybe she’s trying to make me notice, other girls have done it before and tried to win my favor. 6 The crazy ducklings
After that crazy event at the cafeteria, I felt exhausted already. Especially the special attention that those other kids gave, as if I have done a crime. Anyways, it is much better that I wasn't sent flying to the hospital like the other student.   I went to the locker and grabbed my books for the afternoon classes when someone leaned at both my sides. I didn’t bother to look at them but I know they are staring at me. What’s this?   “Hey, are you the cafeteria girl?” Asked by the blonde hottie at my right, if I remember it right she is a part of the cheerleader squad and I often see her at sports events. I slowly turned my attention to her, she got quite a pretty face. Those blue eyes an

7 I don’t intend to meet you again
“Maynard Yngvird!” It was the first time I’ve ever raised my voice to my brother and the next Alpha of our race.   I have always been watching him. I did not intend to stop any of his pranks when we were young. I respect him as an elder brother, my only blood related sibling. As we grow up, he may seem harsh in some way, especially his bad temper which he got from our father. It really runs in the blood I guess, for he knows that he will be the next Alpha in line, he has always been so proud of himself.   Despite having flaws in his character, he’s always been a wise leader, at an early age of fourteen he led the Mafias on the deadly mission that almost half of our men got injured. He sin

8 The Shifts
As I’ve said all I want, immediately, to escape this awkward situation, not waiting for another persistence from this shameless man in front of me. Grabbing my backpack I stood up and bid farewell to Faera. Ignoring the trio, I go half walking-running out of the classroom.   Maynard called out to me but I continued to go on my way. As I escaped the building, seeing the time, I still had enough time before my part time starts so I then decided to take the next bus.   Since it's Thursday, I expect the store must be busy and I planned to clock in early just in case they needed extra help.

9 When Barrett speaks up
“I don’t get what you mean ma’am, can you please elaborate? What does it have to do with my shift being removed?” I am flustered and agitated over these ridiculous things I’ve been hearing from the regional manager.   Favoritism? Me?   “As I’ve said, the late manager dotes on you giving more schedule than the other regulars that I’ve received a few reports on already.” Then she looked at the staff who’s sitting with us, as if urging her to talk, she got the signal and spoke. “The truth is, the other regulars are complaining about the distribution of schedule. It seems you get more regular shifts than most of the others.”
