Howling pierced the air making the hair on my arms and neck stand up,  I ran as fast as my legs could carry me through the woods.I had no idea where I was headed, I just continued to run blindy. Jax said to head towards the river, but gave me no clues how to find it. Listen, smell. Let your instincts guide you.I stopped at Aurora’s voice in my head and a small whine came out of me. She had been quiet since I rejected the idea of ever accepting her mate  and I could feel the longing of him.But she must sense the danger we're in to be so vocal tonight.Taking a deep inhale through my nose, I closed my eyes and tried to pinpoint the smell of fresh water. It reminded me of summers spent at the lake with my dad. I turned my head towards what I thought was the sound of rocks

My own heart seemed to stop as well, pain burning through me, killing me.I didn’t  hear the scream that tore out of my mouth, but I could see the way they all flinched from the noise. I lunged at Damien’s body, turning him over it. His dull eyes looked up, no emotion in them. His mouth slant.  I felt it. I felt the magic rip out of me as the werewolves around me got flung back, landing yards away from me.  I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. My tears dropped onto his face as I stroked it.  Please. Please. Someone help me. Anyone. Please.

PART TWO: The Vampire King   I made a blood oath.  A life of a life. I didn't care at the time because I needed him back,  but it came at a high price. How am I suppose to lead a pack when I have no wolf? I have no choice but to move on  because we are out of time and out of options. The Vampire King must fall.      We're back for the continuation of Hayley's story! I was going to separate it, but decided to just keep going on here since part one was so small. I do have a few changes to part two, such as Hayley won't be the only POV (:

Her face is sober, her gaze stuck to the ground. “You would be nothing without a woman, brother. Don’t forget that.”Shadows dance across my feet and I snarl at them. The eggs in my mouth quickly taste like ash the minute he comes strutting through the doorway.   “Ah! the little wolf is finally awake.” He sounds gitty.   My stomach sours at his words and I growl. “Call me that again, watch what happens.”   He grins. “Hard to listen to your bark when I know you don’t have a bite.” Brennan cackles and the fork in my hand bends from the strength of my grip.    Damien stands from the table and puts himself between us. “Is there something you need, brother?”   Brennan raises an eyebrow. “I can move freely in my house without a desired location or plan in mind.”
