Chapter Twenty
Flanking the lycans from west was Kohl. In the dense woods for whatever reason the lycans had small groups spread out throughout them. The bigger, stronger and faster lycans were farther north. It made no sense in a war for the lycans to be spread out like that, but then again the species wasn't know for their intelligence. It made wiping out large numbers much easier, he wasn't expecting to have to release so many changed lycans. And a lot of children. He even ran into humans, particularly women, that had been caged. Not a single person in the cages looked healthy anymore. All of them were too thin, covered in dirt and some even looked sickly. Seeing the children made him more angry than anything. As planned he directed them down the hill toward the witches that would protect them. As they pushed through the forest toward the main area he could hear Elizabeth and the slaughter of lycans. They never stood a chance against her. As him and his team got closer they finally

Chapter Twenty-One
Everyone just sat there, unsure of what to do. Nora was a mess, it had been a week since they had all destroyed Kingston, and Luka was silent. Her silence was honestly terrifying. Silence sometimes is the loudest noise. Everyone that had survived wanted to come with them to the door to purgatory. Kohl figured it was because it was such an interesting situation. Thousands of years was the last time the door had been opened and the stories of what may lie behind it could pique anyone's interest, including one of the oldest beings on this planet. Elizabeth. Kohl was feeling impatient, he wanted so badly to get to Camilla, to save her. But it seemed as if everyone needed a break, he was trying to be too impatient. Something that Elizabeth noticed. "Alright everyone. It's been a week now, it's time to get there and meet up with Borislav, the Grand Wizard. We don't have forever to do this, we must do it now while Luka is silent. She is most definetly planning something...nefarious

Chapter Twenty-Two
They had finally reached the base of the mountain where the vehicles could no longer go. It was a long ride and for about a hour and a half of it was driving over rocks and large bumps or falling into holes. It made Nora and Amelia nauseated. "Okay, we make camp here for the night." Borislav instructed once everyone had gotten out. "Gabriel please find wood and rocks so I can make a campfire. It is cold and gets much colder during the night." Gabriel did as asked without a single quip, Peter and Kohl were both surprised by that, Elizabeth however was not surprised. He was anxious just like everyone else was, and if he was like the other vampires at all he was torn between going into purgatory and possibly never coming out or not going into it and watching the world be destroyed. For Peter, Jen, Kohl, and Elizabeth not going in wasn't even a fleeting thought. They knew it needed to be done, and done it would be, no matter what was laying before them. The fire pit was made

Chapter Twenty-Three
Elizabeth went hunting for a human or two somewhere. She was many miles from the camp when she came upon a small village, like four houses. She snatched up a young man and brought him to the camp. The vampires fed on him as much as possible without killing him, so Elizabeth delivered him back to his home and grabbed one other human. Afterwards they were all satisfied. Borislav cooked human food for everyone else and while it cooked and they ate they packed up everything to make it easier to carry it all. "Eat fast," Kohl ordered impatiently. As long as everything worked out they should be getting to the door of purgatory that day. His impatience was added to by the fact he didn't have any dreams of Camilla that night so he wasn't sure if she was okay after she disappeared because something was after her. With a wave of Borislav's hand over the fire it was out, not even an ember sat underneath the wood. "Let's go." He said and they began up the trail. "Once we arrive we wi

The door to purgatory was barely seen. Unless you were specifically looking for it, you'd probably miss it. Everyone had some form of reaction to seeing it, most people got a sickening feeling in the pits of their stomachs. Borislav was overwhelmed with guilt, that night flashing through his brain. He could the echoes of Camilla's screaming for her mother as she was thrown in there, the way they met thier eyes and he stared into them as the door shut. Borislav and Kohl had the most visible and intense reactions to seeing that door. "Set up camp now." Kohl ordered his eyes never wavering from the door, everyone's eyes were still glued to the door. They actually found it. There is was, the door to hell, physically in front of them. Suddenly the rumors, the stories, the myths and legends behind purgatory and this door were all real. All the creatures that may be hiding behind the door were more real than they had ever been, they'd only be more real, if they were in fact real.

BOOK 2: FACE YOUR MAKER Everyone, that being Kohl, Borislav, Jen, Peter, Nora, Elizabeth and Gabriel, entered the threshold to purgatory. It was pure darkness, even Borislav's torch wasn't able to light it much. They all just stood there unsure of where to go, it was hard when you couldn't see. In a place like this no one knows what could be lurking, or what traps may be scattered about. "Where do we go from here Kohl?" Jen asked squeezing Peter's hand tightly. "I don't know. I guess we just need to walk. I'll take the torch and go first, everyone go in one straight line and hold on to each other. Whatever you do, do not let go." Kohl instructed reaching out toward the torch, Borislav handed it to him then allowed Nora to grip onto Kohl's belt tightly, Jen held onto her than Peter, then Elizabeth and Gabriel and lastly was Borislav. To avoid losing anyone Kohl moved slowly forward holding the torch as far as he could to see, checking a few steps ahead to make sure he didn't s

The sonar sounds the bats were making now were ear piercing and getting louder as they slowly descended toward them all. "You guys they're getting closer." Jen said worridly gripping onto to Peter tighter than she ever had. "Yeah we can see that Jen." Nora snapped uncaringly. She'd been walking behind them all by just a few feet, tears slowly rolling down her face. She was thinking about Kyle. She knew they needed Camilla in order to defeat Luka so that she could get to Kyle, but a part of her was angry that they were saving Kohl's love while her heart breaks. Feeling that way made her also feel guilty, because she knew it wasn't his fault that it happened to be now that he'd find his soulmate after so many centuries, and that it's the one thing he's been missing his entire, very long existance. Everyone ignored Nora's attitude, but continued watching the bats as they got closer. They reached the boat and as soon as Kohl put a hand on it the bats began to circle about them in

It was pitch black and everyone except Elizabeth was fast asleep. She woke up when she could no longer hear the crackling of the fire. Elizabeth didn't really need to sleep, she did it because she enjoyed it. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and her body became very aware they were not alone in these woods. Her eyes scanned the blackness but she couldn't see anything, even with her adept night vision. She got up and began to start the fire back up. She had just started to pick up the stones when she heard movement in front of her, she looked up and saw what seemed to be either Marilyn or Peter crouching toward Nora and Jen. When the person stood straight up and Elizabeth could really see the person she realized it was Marilyn. "Is there a reason you're standing and going to Jen?" Elizabeth asked, Marilyn froze where she was and turned toward where she thought Elizabeth spoke from. "I..." Marilyn began, and stopped. Peter and Jen were now waking up, and Elizabet

Nothing stirred throughout the rest of the night, except for the trees. And as dawn finally came Elizabeth went and hunted something down for the humans to eat. By this time Jen was now just a pile of ash, which when Peter saw her he broke down crying again. Sitting just out of sight was Freya, the little fairy who'd been Elizabeth's best friends for many centuries. She wasn't prepared to meet everyone else yet, not without Elizabeth there. Fairies had quite the terrible reputation, it was mostly well deserved though some were exceptions. Elizabeth returned soon after dragging a boar's body behind her. "I'll be honest I was surprised I could find anything for you guys to eat. And definetly not so quickly. How many blood bags do we have left? I still have awhile before I'll need to feed, but I gotta know." "Eight." Gabriel answered looking in the backpack. "Thanks for getting the food." "No problem, can you guys please start the fire over here while I prepare the boar?" T

As soon as they passed the gate's threshold Elizabeth and Kohl felt their mortality. And how weak they were. Her eyes became normal human eyes that were green like when she was human. She no longer had fangs and all her unique features of being whatever she was, was gone. In physical appearance, Kohl didn't change at all, but he felt it. Freya's wings disapeared and she was a full sized human. All three them were either examining each other, or examining themselves. "Ahhh, ha ha ha!" Freya squeeled excitedly, "I'm big. Look at me! I'm huge!" She was jumping up and down with excitement even though she was about the same size as Nora, she wasn't big at all in human terms. But Elizabeth and Kohl let her have it. "I like this. I like this so much better!" "Come now! Follow me. The king and queen would like to see you." A centaur said, he was larger, more muscular than some of the others and his hair was long and golden blonde. Everyone else had brown or black hair, but alm
