"I'm beat!" Ryan said as he took a seat on a bench in the park while Louis and I followed suit. We had spent the entire morning looking for jobs and most of them were not hiring. Considering that we were already in the second month of the holiday, I kind of expected it. When I told Louis and Ryan that I wanted to try looking for a job, I was shocked when they said that they wanted to join me. We were looking for something that could accommodate the three of us and I figured that it would be easier since the socializing part of all of this irked me regardless. Luckily, the bench was under a tree and I instantly felt relaxed when I took a seat in-between my buddies. My feet ached and I had four job advertisement flyers in my hands that we still hadn't gone to. "Me too. I feel like we've been moving forever," Louis said as he leaned into the bench and looked at the branches above us. "We've practically been doing that. We need a breather," I said. "I feel like my legs will fall of

I looked down the road as I waited for the bus that my sister was going to arrive in. She told me that she was only five minutes away but I've been waiting for an extra ten minutes. Today was the dreaded day that Grace decided to visit. Arguing with her would be more annoying and I figured that giving her what she wanted would make her back off. When I texted earlier and asked if she had company, she told me that she was alone. I found that strange. Being the only girl of the family, I expected our parents to be more overprotective about her. Darren must've stolen all the attention. Despite being relieved that she wasn't coming with our parents, I low-key felt like they sent her to spy on me. I sighed. It wasn't like I was looking poorly or doing drugs. They already knew about my preference so, there was no reason to hide it. I spotted the bus making it's way to the stop and I took a few steps back to preserve my life. After the vehicle parked and the doors slid open and a few p

Henry's head lay on my lap while I gently stroked his hair. The empty packet of biscuits was on the nightstand and we had brushed the crumbs off the bed earlier. He was laying on his back while his face faced the ceiling. Although his eyes were closed for a while, the tapping of his forefinger on his stomach showed me that he was awake. I still couldn't get over the fact that I was in his room. Every time I sat here with him, I was over the moon. Did he understand what his actions made me think? How they made me feel? We just sat in silence while enjoying each other's company. I wondered what went through his head during moments like these. Moments when we were intimate without having to undress. "You still haven't told me what happened at work," I said softly and Henry hummed. "I've forgotten." "Then tell me how your day went." "It was great although I talked to too many people. Being a cashier is more interactive than I thought." "Of course. You need to talk back when they a

"That'll be twenty dollars," I said as I looked at the young man in front of me. He searched his pockets before handing me a fifty dollar bill. After getting his change and receipt, I gave them to him and he left to look for the theater where his movie was.  I stretched my arms over my head and yawned. Dropping my arms, I got my phone from my pocket and smiled when I noticed that it was finally the end of my shift and I had a text from Andre. Earlier, there weren't many people who were coming to the register so, I texted him. We were talking about the weather then we ventured into recent memes. He wasn't replying as quick as I wanted him to but I understood that he was busy. Even though I understood that he had plenty of work to do, not forgetting his abundant social life, I still felt frustrated. I wished that he could just go somewhere and give me his undivided attention for at least an hour. Luckily, he always made up fo

Later, I walked home alone and I was a little angry with my friends. Ryan and Louis wanted to pass by the arcade but I wasn't in the mood. Despite my protests, they forced me to play a few games that by the time I noticed, over an hour had passed by. I was in such a hurry that I didn't go to the park today. I wanted to be home before Andre. I wondered if he was home yet and what he was doing if he was. Even though we were usually together, we needed time to study and I also wanted to give him some space. Today, I didn't want to give him space. Maybe this feeling would fade after I talk with him. Was this what he meant by an energy boost when he kissed me in the kitchen? Reaching close, I noticed Andre walking out of the door and I opened my mouth to call his name. I quickly stopped myself when Flynn walked out after him. They stood on the porch as they continued talking. What the heck was he doing here? I dropped my gaze to my shoes as I thought of what to do next. I felt awkwa

"We're out of condoms," Henry said as he looked through the drawer and I hummed. "I'll buy some more after work tomorrow," I said as I kissed the back of his neck. "Okay." He looked at my arms, that were wrapped loosely around his waist and chuckled. "Can I dress up at least?" "I don't think that's necessary though. I like seeing you naked." "Says the guy who's already dressed up." "I'm just in my underwear and a pair of shorts." "And I'm in nothing." Seeing that I wasn't budging, he added, "I need some underwear though." "Then, I'll get them for you." "Sure. They are in the second drawer." He let out an exasperated sigh while I let go of him and got out of bed. Walking to his closet, I opened the drawer and looked through what underwear to get him. We had taken a long shower earlier, since I had to clean him up inside, and were back in his room. It was already evening and before his parents arrived from work, I wanted to be as free with him as I could. Having Henry express

I wiped the top of the counter clean with a cloth and put it in a compartment underneath. A new movie had just been released and so many people came to watch it. I had such a busy day that I didn't have time to touch my phone. Looking around the large building, some people mingled about as they stood in lines while others stared at the movie posters outside. I was a fan of movies, especially horror and action movies, so working here was pretty cool. During my breaks, I would sometimes sneak into the theaters to see what was happening. Louis, Ryan and I didn't bump into each other often during work hours. Louis moved around a lot while Ryan was at the snack bar. I didn't want to move around to find Louis so, they usually found me before I could follow them. It was either they cared enough to not want me to move too much or they knew that I wouldn't move around so, they brought the task into their own hands. "Hi," Alice, the girl who I ask to take over when difficult people arrive

"That's not how it went though," I said with a laugh."It is. I bet that you don't remember that day," Andre argued with an amused smile."I do. I also remember that my brother came with a friend but I don't remember what he looks like.""Ouch. I'm more offended.""I don't remember much from my childhood to be honest. I don't even remember my classmates in sixth grade."He put his fork down. "There's nothing we can do then.""Don't make it sound so depressing.""It is a little depressing though." I glared at him and he laughed. "But I'm happy that I get to make new memories with you.""Me too. Its funny how things turned out this way.""I remember how irritated you were when I moved in. Your eyes literally showed how much you disliked me."I blushed in embarrassment. "I wasn't excited about suddenly living with some guy that everyone remembered but me.""I doubt that.""Why?""Be

I stared blankly at the ceiling as a frustrated sigh left my mouth. It felt like I was waiting for centuries and I was curious to know what they were talking about.  I was currently laying on my bed as I let my thoughts wander. For every second that passed, my impatience grew even more. Why couldn't things be easier for us? Why did he let me leave?  All these loops had my head spinning. My door suddenly swung open and I sat up quickly in hopes of it being Andre. Seeing my mother enter the room, I tensed up.  "Where is Andre?" I asked and the look on her face made the knot in my stomach tighten even more. She was angry, I could see it clearly, but she also looked disappointed. As though I had crushed all of her hopes and dreams for me.  "Honey," she began sternly, "I don't think that you and Andre should see each other anymore. I understand that your father and I haven't been the best of parents but this isn't

I sighed as I put my phone aside. After Flynn gave me Andre's address, I've been trying to come up with an effective action plan.Flynn was right. What would I go there to do? Most importantly, how would I leave with my parents around? They obviously wouldn't let me and Mom would just get more upset if I disappeared. But I needed to see him and tell him something. Anything. I was scared that he would get angry with me and push me away, but did he really need to leave? Maybe this was a sign. We weren't meant to be and forgetting about him would probably be better.I groaned. I couldn't do that."How could you leave after changing my mindset, you piece of shit?" I muttered under my breath. I was currently seated in the locker room while I contemplated on all these things. It was my break and I didn't want to go out so, I came here to think in silence. From the money that I currently had, I didn't think that it was enough fo
