~Gemma~ Sammie dragged my ass to a local dive bar. Yes. I fought hard. Yes. I allowed her to win because true friends supported each other. After hastily revealing her crush on the bartender, she thanked my loyalty by promptly dumping me. Yeah. I ended up playing the damn third wheel. She failed to warn me I overdressed for the occasion. My tidy dress, clean hair and nails clashed against the gritty backdrop. Her attire of black jeans and flitted leather jacket didn’t alert me to the potential dangers. Sammie’s outfit screamed Sammie, not grungy dive attire. The scent of the atmosphere smelled a little dark and broody. Not my scene. I sat alone in the corner like the freaking reject. I know we don’t like to talk about it. But there is always that awkward friend in the group. Hello! It's me, awkward. I hoped to never repeat this experiment. From a safe distance, I studied this mysterious side of her. She flirted and giggled while twirling a piece of hair around her finger. Sammie’

~Gemma~ I managed to shove him away. “Dude.” I put a hand on my chest. “Not cool!” Sammie stood in the doorway, arms crossed, eyes narrowed. “I will let you in on a secret, little fellow.” She stalked towards him. Her long legs ate up the distance quickly. “Wait to be invited before attacking a woman with your face.” Evan’s shoulders rose and then fell. “Please, let me explain!” His eyes were wild. “By all means! Explain!” Sammie sat on the couch, dragging me with her. “And if you try that shit with me again, it will be the last thing you ever do.” He ignored her threat. “How did you recover so quickly?” Evan asked, searching Sammie for some visible clue. “She is a werewolf. Perhaps that affects the outcome?” I answered, thinking aloud. “Gems, what is going on?” Sammie elbowed me. I whispered excitedly to her. “He is a freaking warlock!” “Ah! A he-witch!” Sammie laughed. “That explains things.” He grimaced. “We do prefer the term warlock. Thanks.” “And I prefer a handshake w

~Alpha Devlin~ Fuck me! Gemma stood there in her heels, bra and thong. The dress puddled on the floor at her feet. She giggled. “The look on your face says it all!” She kicked the dress away. I continued to stand there, dumbstruck. My cock twitched against the constrictive fabric of my jeans. Was this a goddamn dream? I wiped a hand down my face. “Um. Is this happening? I do not want to misunderstand and be accused of sexual misconduct later.” She covered her chest with her arms, sounding insecure. “Gems, maybe we should talk about…” She strutted over to me and covered my mouth with a hand. “No! We fuck things up when we open our mouths.” She exhaled loudly. “Can we please have this moment and not mess it up with bullshit?” She pleaded. My wolf danced in circles of joy, begging for release. I shoved that part of my conscious aside. If I had one shot at this, it had to be handled with finesse. I bit her fingers. “I have one condition. The goddamn heels stay on.” I grabbed her

~Gemma~ I did what I always did when reality was better off avoided. I soaked in a bubble bath while contemplating my clusterfuck of a life. I completely mishandled the situation with Alpha Devlin. Worse, I had no idea how to fix it. We weren’t kids fumbling around in the dark, unsure of our bodies or each other. Alpha Devlin had grown into his own. Sure, he had confidence aplenty and charm on his side since the day of his birth. But now, dear goddess. What am I going to do? Our downfall began when he ascended the throne. Sure, by birthright Devlin was destined to fill the role of alpha. That is after his older brother died. And unfortunately, his alphahood happened a hell of a lot sooner than either of us expected. His parents died in a horrific car accident a little over two years ago. He broke up with me. And like some lovesick puppy, I refused let go. Then came the awful day I caught him with Twyla. Fuck that! I rubbed my pendant like a worry stone. No way would I allow any g

~Gemma~ “There is blood! Why is there blood?” I freaked out. Luna Sadie sprawled on the bed. When she reached a hand out to me, I went over to her without hesitation. I grabbed her hand, ignoring the dried blood. “Save my baby! Please save my baby.” She said spoke in a quieter tone. “If I lose this one too, he will leave me!” What the ever loving fuck? I gave Alpha Camden a look filled with as much contempt as possible. When she tugged on my hand again, I sat down next to her. “What do you mean? How many have you lost?” I whispered to her. I had to know what I was dealing with. “Two others!” She panted. “Goddess! It is starting again!” She cried out, writhing in pain. I stood there in shock. Why was her body trying to shift on its own? He legs sprouted fur. Oh, fuck! What do I do? And how am I always asking myself this lately? “Do something!” Alpha Camden grabbed me forcefully. “Save my child!” Not save his luna? I questioned the sanity of the goddess for bringing an innocent
