Chapter 141

Charles remained quiet after he had his question to give room for Nicole to clarify herself. He had asked Nicole three urgent questions she needed to give answers too. "I want to say I am very sorry firstly for lying with your names. You are my friends and I didn't mean to lie with them intentionally. It was a big mistake on my part and for that I am sorry", Nicole said, looking at her feet. "That fateful night some few weeks back, I bought 12 human blood bags from the night club and I bought it for a good cause", she said slowly. Her confident way of speaking and composure wasn't yet back. "There were some group of vampires who couldn't come into the club because they would be judged for how they were, so they begged me to help them purchase

Chapter 142

It had been a busy day at the tattoo shop with a lot of clients coming in for their body art work. The day had been stressful but finally they were done as they headed back to Nicole's apartment in Charles' car. It was Angela's idea. The plan was simple, Angela and Charles were to escort her back to her apartment and stay with her there until she was ready to leave for Lucas's place and that was what they did. They were now back at Nicole's place. "What time will you be leaving for Lucas' place?", Angela asked, as she sat on the couch in the living room. Charles was sitting on another couch watching television. "I'll leave by 7 PM", Nicole said as she made her way down the passageway of her apartment to her bedroom. She had gone there to freshen up and ch

Chapter 143

Charles looked at her and kept quiet. His silence was the positive affirmation that he was. "How could you even think of such Charles, I am totally disappointed in you!", she yelled at him. "We are friends, we are family! We literally have each other's back and have been totally honest with ourselves!", she yelled trying to convince him of Nicole's innocence. "My story hasn't finished yet, there is still more I haven't yet revealed and this is very important",Charles said to her calmly. Angela could tell from his calm disposition it was something he had thought about and arrived at a conclusion already. A conclusion that was against her best friend, Nicole.

Chapter 144

They waited in the car about 10 minutes after which Nicole emerged out of the club, carrying two nylon carrier bags. The nylon was opaque, so they couldn't see what was exactly inside but they could make out the shape of the items it contained - it was human blood bags! Charles and Angela were in shock as they both watched her speechless as she opened the booth of her car and dropped them in, before getting into her car and driving off. Charles didn't utter a word in the car as he started the engine and quickly followed Nicole trailing her at the back. Angela was still in a state of shock as she struggled to make sense of what she had just witnessed. She was already getting emotional as she struggled to control her emotions while taking deep breaths.

Chapter 145

"Okay, I'll tell you all you need to know", Charles said, looking at her. "I always trusted Nicole as you did, I never had any reason not to. She was my friend, your best friend and our colleague. We both knew she was different when she rejected several vampires that wanted to date her, especially my late friend Smith", he said, remembering Smith was 1 of 12 vampires that first got missing one fateful night, some time ago. "After I learnt of the death of Smith and the others that died with him that night, I remembered disclosing to you and Nicole in that same night we spent together at Sir Paul's mansion, that there was a rumour of a super vampire; a vampire hybrid and that the vampire hybrid could be the possible cause of the mysterious deaths". "I remembered

Chapter 146

"What do you mean exactly?", Angela asked, seeking clarity. She knew what he meant but she was too scared to even utter the words. It would shatter her soul and live a void in her no one will ever be able to fill. There was only one Nicole and forever it would remain so. "We have no other choice...", Charles said, pausing, as he looked away from Angela, seeing the pain already in her eyes. He couldn't stand to look her straight in the eyes as he planned to utter his words. There was no easy way to say this but it had to be said. "We have to identify her as the mystery female vampire to the vampire hierarchy, that is what we must do now with Nicole", he said quietly, mustering all the courage he had to say it. It wasn't easy for him to say, nothing had been easy for him tonight. But he had had to swim the shark infested

Chapter 147

Charles looked at her. He had thought about what she just asked. She was such a sweet soul. "It's already too late for any of us to help her. She is already under the hunted list of the vampire hierarchy. If she is truly innocent only to the vampire hierarchy can she prove her innocence. By continuing to associate with her after what we know, we become equally as guilty as her, if she has committed any crimes", he said. The vampire hierarchy didn't take traitors very lightly, Lord Dracula ensured it was so. All traitors and conspirators were to be put to death, just as Silas was, even though he was dearly beloved by Lord Dracula amongst all other generals. "I understand,'' Angela said, sobbing. "

Chapter 148

It was now dawn at Angela's apartment, although the sun was yet to rise. The time was 6 AM by the bedside clock and Angela was still wrapped in Charles's arms from last night. They both didn't move an inch as they leaned one each other for support and comfort. Angela was the first to wake up because she slept more comfortably throughout the night. She looked at the time and she could tell the time was right for both of them to get up from bed. They had a big day before them. "Charles...Charles wake up", she said to him from the spooning position Charles held her as she tapped on his arms simultaneously. It took a few seconds for Charles to respond as he opened his eyes and became awake. "Angela",

Chapter 149

Katharine and Talon were with Vladimir when he dropped the telephone. He looked at them with joy in his eyes. "Who is that and why are we leaving urgently?", Katharine asked, as she heard how excited he sounded on the phone. "The mystery female vampire has been found!", he exclaimed. It was an amazing news. "Quickly, let's get over to the club", he said, without revealing any other details. Katharine and Talon didn't bother asking, there was no need. Vladimir would tell them on the way. They followed him from behind quickly as they left for the club in their cars with their vampire bodyguards. They arrived at the club 30 minutes after. They had driven

Chapter 150

Nicole had enjoyed a pleasant night with Lucas and his brothers. They had all had fun together in the apartment, talking, joking and playing video games together. She had spent the night at Lucas place, as he held and kissed her severally throughout the night. When dawn arrived, Nicole woke up later than expected. Lucas allowed her to sleep to her heart's content. He enjoyed watching her sleep, she looked so beautiful. The time was now 9 AM and Lucas was now ready to leave for work with his brothers and so was Nicole. She had gotten dressed and had joined them in the living room to leave. "I'm all set to go", Nicole said happily, as she walked out of Lucas bedroom. "You look so beautiful!", Lucas said, a
