Lexy checked her phone as she was preparing to leave the classroom. She already had a missed call from Ethan. Lexy dialed the return call button, and Ethan answered even before the first ring ended. "Hey, baby girl, shall wait by the gates or get in there to carry you in my arms on your way out of school?" Ethan asked excitedly. Lexy did not get to conceal her laughter as it burst into a loud snort. "Oh, hold your horse, dear," Lexy chuckled. "And just give me a few minutes to be right there with you. I am starving, by the way," she added. "What would you like to have for dinner tonight?" Ethan asked. "How about we eat at home instead of going to a restaurant or diner?" Lexy asked. 

Ethan felt the intensity of Lexy's words to be so immense and exuberantly overwhelming, added by the insanity drowning scent that invaded his olfactory senses. His whole being shivered in magnanimous delight. Lust-driven, he dived into where Lexy's hand was kneading down south of her body. Shocked, shaken, and helpless, Lexy froze in her spot, right in the middle of the distance between Aldric and the other lycans. The fear she felt earlier was not even for herself. She was afraid Ethan would be harmed by the beasts again when Lexy heard the footsteps getting closer and trying to get into the cabin where they were in. She was ready to defend Ethan with everything she got thinking the man was in danger. But when he looked like one of the beasts that were now standing next to the door after breaking in, Lexy did not know who was her enemy and anyone any longer. She knew deep in her mind that she should stay focused to survive, but her fear subdued her greatly, and Lexy dropped unconscious to the floor. When Aldric saw his mate’s face filled with horror and confusion, his fear of Lexy seeing him in this form was confirmed
