It's going to kill everyone
"Eric . . . I am so sorry about your friend," Sharon said sitting on the bed with him; he was sitting by the edge and she near the headboard. "I just . . . Ugh, I should have been there," Det. Brighton said with tears running down his face. "I promised to be there for her and I wasn't. I failed her again. She keeps trusting me and I keep failing her." "Babe you are being way too hard on yourself, it wasn't your fault." "Yes it was. I was supposed to be there and I wasn't. I promised her that I was going to be there for her and I wasn't. I promised her that I would do better and not let that thing get her again and I failed." "Honey please," she said and moved closer to him. "You did the best you could do." "I let her down." "No you didn't." "Yes I did. I was supposed to be there and I wasn't," Det. Brighton said. "And now she's dead again." "Again?" "I got another chance to do better and I failed. What if I don'

Molly and Private Hobbs ran on; back to the car park and into one of the camouflage army hummer trucks. She got in behind the wheel and was about to drive off when Private Hobbs jumped into the front passenger seat and slammed the door shut behind him. "Greg what are you doing?" Molly asked. "Go!" he shouted. "Get out of the truck." "I'm coming with you." "No you're not," she said. "Yes I am." "No you're not. That thing is after me and as long as you're with me your life is in danger." "I'm not letting you face that thing alone," Private Hobbs said. Just then they heard the sound of one the burning planes sliding across the ground and when they looked there it was the chasen that had kicked it and was walking through the fire towards them. "Oh my gosh it's up. Go Molly!" "Greg get out!" "Go!" "Ugh!" Molly grunted and started the truck and drove off, as the remaining soldiers on the base w

Yes a son . . . She has a son
The bus carried on and came to a stop at one of the stations and Molly dropped off. She then started making her way down the street to where she was headed, the police station. Molly walked in and walked straight up to Det. Brighton's desk. He was sitting by it working when he glanced at her, looked back at the screen of his computer and then back at her, as inside, a weird feeling came over him, a weird feeling that came over him much stronger than before when he looked at her again. Det. Brighton shot to his feet and even came out from behind his desk as his heart began to beat in a certain way, the same way it did every time when Molly found her way back into his life. "Molly?" he said softly with his eyes tearing up and she just walked up to him and hugged him and like his whole world was nothing without her, he hugged her back. With Det. Lima seated by his desk watching them, wondering who this new young woman was now. They had just talked about the different women that had bee

What am I?
"Please take a seat," Vera said and Molly and Det. Brighton sat down on the long couch; adjacent to the rocking chair she was sitting on; knitting on and swinging herself gently from front to back."I'll go and prepare some tea," her daughter said."Thank you baby." She walked out of the room as the two just sat there looking at each other and then back at her as a good amount of silence swept; with Molly not knowing how or where to even begin."You are not the Molly from that day are you?" Vera asked."No I'm not," Molly responded."Mm, who are you today?""Molly Hammers.""I see a motherly aura around you," Vera said knitting on."Um yes . . . Molly Hammers is a mother. A single mother to a six year old boy. Dylan.""Well, isn't that interesting?""What's happening to me?" Molly asked. "I keep dying and coming back over and over again . . . Why? Why is this happening to me?" Vera stopped knitting and paused for

There's nothing that can be done, it's over
A moment later, Molly and Det. Brighton were at the park sitting down on one of the benches; with her drenched in tears and him just sitting there with his head down completely lost on what to say or do. Molly believed Vera was going to provide her with the answers needed to help her end what was happening to her but no, what she just told them was the worst thing she possibly could. She was supposed to tell them how to stop the chasen from taking more of her lives but she didn't, all she said was that the chasen was going to continue coming after her and that there was absolutely nothing she could do about it. Was that all there was going to be to her life? The chasen killing her and her waking up as more random people. It was bad enough that there was nothing they could do to stop the chasen but her lives running out, that was what had them both breaking out into one cold sweat right after the other. Not being able to do anything to stop the chasen from kil

"I don't understand mom, why do I have to go away?" Dylan asked as he, Molly, Det. Brighton and the three officers that were watching their apartment through the night, stood outside the apartment building; next to the open passenger door of Det. Brighton's car. "You have to go so that you can be safe," Molly kneeling down in front of him said as he stood with a back pack on and with his face so low it sunk. "Safe from what?" "It's just not safe for you to be around mommy right now so Det. Brighton is going to take you somewhere safe o.k." "No. I don't want to go," he said and started tearing up. "You have to go baby." "I don't wanna. I want to say here with you." "I know you do baby, even I want you to stay but it's not safe for you so you have to go so that you can be safe," she said. "Safe from what? Why am I being taken away?" "Because there's a very bad person after mommy and if you stay with me and he come

I could not be here tomorrow
Morning came and as Det. Brighton was sleeping, with the blanket at his waist and his chest exposed, Molly was lying on her pillow next to him watching him; smiling to herself at how gorgeously the light coming in through the see-through curtains of the window fell onto his face.  Last night was everything she dreamed it would be. The way he kissed her, the way he looked into her eyes, the way he held her in his arms and the way he made love to her, everything was perfect. She had made love to Capt. Grant a few days back but that was nothing compared to this; it wasn't just a physical and sexual connection like it was with Capt. Grant, this one was physical, sexual and emotional and that just made it mean so much more. His bare skin against hers, the sound of his heart heavily beating and his hot breath on her neck, Molly was in ecstasy, and looking at him remembering how perfect the night was, all she could do was blush and quietly chuckle to herself.

"I'm sorry what!" Molly said. Rodrick had just told her that if she wanted to survive the chasen she was going to have to kill it. "Yes," Rodrick said. "Are you mental?" "No I'm not. I killed mine so you can kill yours." "Uh no you have super strength I don't," she said. "And to even have the slightest chance in killing it I'd have to fight it, fighting which I don't even know how to do. You want me to go up against a mountain with absolutely zero skill. No." "You have to do it or it is going to keep coming after you and it is going to kill you." "Again," Det. Brighton added. "Again? What do you mean again? If that thing gets you then you are done. It's over," Rodrick said. "Well . . . It has gotten me a few times actually," Molly said. "What do you mean by that? Gotten you how as in killed you?" "Yes." "A few times?" "Yes." "I'm sorry, the chasen has been after you and it has kil

You're not going to lose me
A couple of days went by and Molly was still alive. The house she was staying in had been flooded with strong smelling flowers and herbs that were so beautifully pungent it was like they were living in a magical garden, and they had managed to do what they were intended to do which was to shield the scent of the fear she had for the chasen and so far it had been working like a charm. Molly had been Molly Hammers for over a week, the longest she had stayed a Molly since the whole thing started happening.It was night time and Molly had just gotten back from yet another intense training session with Rodrick and was having an ice bath. After being one of the best MMA fighters in the business he was one of the best MMA trainers in it too. He had won many championships; not just as a fighter but as a coach as well and he was using the very same mentality towards Molly and pushed her more than he had ever pushed any of his other fighters because unlike them she was actually fightin

Eric!
Evening came and Molly was at the house taking a warm shower from having her ice bath. Enjoying the feel of the warm water upon her cold skin when just then she sharply turned her head to the side as though having heard something, as at the same time a strange shiver ran down her spine. She had had shivers run down her spine many times before but this one was different, it almost hurt and for a while she just stood there wondering what it could mean. Was she sick? Was she coming down with something? Was her life in danger? There was that feeling that came over her when the chasen was about to show up but it wasn't that either. It was like it but much more subtle which meant it had to be something else, but what? What was this strange feeling that was coming over her? At the same time, Det. Brighton was on the road driving to the very house from work; listening to some country music playing on the radio and quite collected on the outside but on the inside eager to see Molly;
