Chapter 21 - Maimed
The flashers on police patrol vehicles shone through Detective White’s apartment. The quiet night was no longer quiet anymore even with the loud music turned off. It didn’t end well for Lucas’ friends from Orleans High. They have been declared maimed by a wild bear by the police precinct headed by Captain Harris. Lucas’ birthday party was ruined and his father’s house was considered an act of crime scene with yellow tapes around the house bearing, ‘POLICE LINE DO NOT CROSS.’ The attack on Lucas’ friends from Orleans High was bloody. The entire house is stained with blood. Captain Harris was the first to arrive at the scene when Detective White’s neighbors placed several distress calls. Lucas couldn’t protect his friends from the attack of the werewolves, however, before the police could arrive, he was able to rip out the heart of the young man dressed in a tunic before the rest escaped seeing how fierce Lucas was when he gets angry. Detective White was able to

Chapter 22 - Undisputed
Lucas lets out a loud yawn and then slowly slides down the bed. He walks toward the window rubbing his bleary eyes. With his party ruined and his father’s house considered an act of crime scene, Mr. and Mrs. Willie accepted the plea of their daughter Jane to accommodate Lucas for a while until the investigations were over. Immediately Lucas heard a full-fisted knock he quickly went to answer the door. He was staying in one of the guest rooms in Mr. and Mrs. Willie's house. “Good morning Lucas,” Jane greeted putting up a fancy smile. “Good morning, Jane. How was your night?” “I wouldn’t say fine with what just happened last night.” “I understand because I feel the same way.” Lucas invites Jane in and shuts the door. He clears his throat and opens his mouth to speak. “I must confess, your parents have a good heart. I appreciate them allowing me to stay here for a while.” “Just feel at home,” Jane smirked. “Do you think the police believed what we told them?” Lucas asked with a con

Chapter 23 - Disputed
Lucas was eager to get to the bottom of what has happened at the morgue. Immediately after his father left, he quickly made his way to the sitting room. “Hey Jane!” he said as he approached the sofa Jane was sitting on. “Are your parents out for today?” he whispered. “Mom is preparing breakfast. Why?” “Something has happened at the morgue and I want to check it out.” On hearing this, Jane adjusted on the sofa switching her attention to Lucas. “What happened?” she inquired with curiosity. “The corpses of my friends are gone and the diener lying dead in the pool of his blood. His heart was ripped out.” Jane stares with disbelief and at the same time wonders who might have taken the corpses. She couldn’t help but ask, “And how did you know all this?” She’s quite certain that Lucas hasn’t left the house and there’s no possible way for him to know about the incident at the morgue. “I initiated my enhanced hearing ability when my father was on a call with his captain.” Werewolves are

Chapter 24 - Back To School
Even though Lucas is staying in their neighbor’s house, Detective White wants to be the one driving him to school. With their house still considered an act of crime scene, Detective White has made the precinct his new home and his desk his new bed. He pulls over in front of Orleans High School as usual. As Lucas wants to open the door, his father pressed the automatic lock button for the car doors. He turns off the ignition and then casts a mean gaze on his son and then begins to speak. “A lot of things have been happening lately and I don’t want to lose you. Let my number be the first to call when you sense any danger. I don’t want you getting hurt. Stay away from that Jack of a person. Got it?” “Got it!” Lucas nods his head in agreement with what his father has just said. “Can I go now?” he asked in a soft tone. Detective White deactivates the lock. “Of course,” he said smirking to himself. With what is happening around the city of New Orleans lately, he has begun to t

Chapter 25 - Unexpected
ROUTE 9 Detective White stepped out of his patrol car and slammed shut the door behind him. His hand slightly placed on his service revolver, he slowly walks into the woods. He is eager for answers. Not quite long he began to scan his eyes around the trees for a clue as he pays attention to every bit of sound. He recalled on the night he visited this same place, he heard the wolf's howl even though at that time he thought it was the mountain wolfs but it was beginning to make sense to him that the howling he heard that night was that of a werewolf. He slowly approached the same tree Jack’s truck crashed into. With his eyes fixed on the tree, he couldn’t walk further because behind the tree was a swamp of alligators. The only sound that pierced into his ears was the psithurism sound of the woods. “I need to cover more ground if I must find a clue.” Detective White seems eager to find answers and from the look of things, he is not going anywhere until he finds a clu

Chapter 27 - Unwanted Fuss
“Holy shit!” Nick exclaimed. He recalls his late grandmother telling him the days are evil and never to take off the pendant. He never knew the pendant could protect him from supernatural creatures like werewolves. It’s now clear to him that Lucas having eye contact with the pendant was what made him draw away from him. Lucas was still snarling at Nick but he couldn’t attack him because of the pendant. Suddenly a white glowing light shone in their midst and within a twinkling of an eye, Lucas and Nick vanished into the light. BONNIE’S MAGICAL STORE Both Lucas and Nick made a rough landing in Bonnie’s magical store. Lucas could recognize where he is but Nick couldn’t. Nick jumped to his feet and begins to stare around with curiosity. He has no idea how he got here. Chapter 28 - Unknown Land
BONNIE’S MAGICAL STORE Not quite long after Ann has sent Nick away, Lucas regained consciousness. He rose to his feet with his gaze drawn to Bonnie and Ann who were standing at the entrance of the magical store discussing. He can barely hear what they were saying. He quickly switched on to his enhanced hearing ability. Bonnie has been away and just returned with what Ann believed to be good news. Lucas couldn’t turn a deaf ear to what he just heard. He made his way to them. They were startled on seeing him sneak up on them without making a sound as he walked. “Shit!” Bonnie exclaimed. “You almost gave me a heart attack,” she said. Ann thought Lucas was still unconscious. She never expects him to be awake now. “Don’t you make a sound when you move?” Ann asked. “Well, that depends. Where is Nick, I can’t capture any other heartbeat beside you two.” Lucas cast his gaze on Ann in expectation of an answer. He knew Nick have seen him change. He still remembers the scenario tha

Chapter 29 - A Trip to the Unknown Land
UNKNOWN LAND Lucas stared around the desolate place the pathway led them to. They were surrounded by branchless trees. The ground they stood on can barely be seen as it was covered with mist. It’s already dark and they need a source of light. The sky isn’t just like the normal sky Lucas has grown up seeing. The sky is red and there’s no moon or stars in the sky. Just a plain red sky. “Is this the unknown land?” Lucas glanced at Bonnie and Ann. He was expecting something strange but not this type of strange. “Welcome to the unknown land,” Ann said as she puts on a clownish smile. “I don’t like this place; we need to be fast enough to get back home.” “Don’t worry, we will soon be on our way home as soon as we find the mystic orb,” Bonnie said hitting her staff on the ground. Bright light from her staff lit the scene. “Let’s go!” she said leading the way. No witch has ever been to the unknown land beside Kora. They don’t know how to open the pathway. Now they h

Chapter 30 - Strong Will
Bonnie deflected the fire spat at her with her hand and blasted away a few more with her staff. “Is that all you got!” she yelled pointing her staff towards the creature. She stopped the creature from getting to her. Still with her staff pointed at the creature, she lifted the creature above the ground and suspended the creature in the air. “Yes!” Ann joyfully yelled. “That’s my mistress,” she added. With a snap of her fingers, she started rolling the creature in the air continuously. The rolling continued. Ann seems to be enjoying the fun her mistress is having. She kept clapping and yelling: “That’s how we do it in New Orleans baby!” The excitement was suddenly interrupted by a multiple roaring from their behind. Ann swallowed a lump in her throat realizing the first creature isn’t alone but has some backup. Before she could lift a leg to run, another Oux picked her up. She yelled, cried, and writhed. “Put me down!” she cried the more. Bonnie beca
