Chapter 1 - Death

Death"Ma'am Calliana! Ma'am Calliana!" I heard our maidservants calling my name and the loud knocks outside my room. Loud noises were heard on the first floor of our house. "For Pete's sake, Manang Lucing! It's 11:00 p.m. and I didn't even get enough sleep!" I opened the door of my room and shouted at her. Manang Lucing is our head maidservant in this big mansion. She has been serving our family for almost twenty years. I can see her shocked expression while holding our telephone. "And why are they so noisy below? I can't sleep with the noise," I scolded."Ma'am Calliana, t-there's an emergency. Someone called from a hospital and... and," she was gesturing me to get the telephone from her.I took the phone and put it in my ear. "Hello, this is Calliana Stella Laurier speaking," I said."Hello, Ma'am Calliana, this is Nurse Maria from Good Health Medical Hospital. Ma'am, I just want to inform you that Sir Arthur Madr

Chapter 2 - Birthday

BirthdayAfter the doctor announced Arthur's death, I didn't feel anything. More like I'm overwhelmed and thankful. He's been jerking off his way to the company my parents built and has been an asshole to me. "I'm sorry, Calliana. You heard this news on your birthday," I was in a daze when Tito Alex spoke to me."Huh?""Today is March 31. It's your birthday."I didn't even notice that it was my birthday. Time flies so fast. And that bastard's death is today, that means double celebration? I smiled. "That does mean I'll have a double celebration?" I unconsciously blurted out. Even though this is my first time celebrating my birthday without Mom, I am happy and lonely at the same time. "You can come to our house today to celebrate your birthday, Calliana. Tatiana misses you because you no longer visit us often," Tito suggested."No, Tito. I've already troubled you so much by letting you go here. Also, I made pl

Chapter 3 - Virgin

VirginIvy pulled me to the dancefloor. People are already crowding because of the nearing peak of the party. We squeezed into the crowd and finally made a stop where men swarm. "Ivy! It's so crowded here!" I shouted, hoping she'll hear me.She turned to me and shouted in my ear. "Let's dance!" She raised both of our hands and started grinding her booty on me. Her movements were very sensual. Her hands went down on her legs, swaying her body. She moved her hands up and down alternately from her legs to her waist until her shoulder. Her energy was to the moon that the liquor I drank is slowly penetrating my system.I smirked at her and did what she did. She shouted as we sway our bodies, the music was loud, sweats trickling on my forehead, and the intoxicating feeling does dancing in a club full of strangers. I drowned myself in the dance music. The crowd intensified when the DJ changed the song. I raised my hand, my eyes closed as I enj

Chapter 4 - Funeral

FuneralI woke up in a slightly dim room. The walls were painted in a soft cream color. I roamed my eyes in the whole room. The lampshade on my right was the only one lighting the room.I felt someone move on my left. There's someone on the bed beside me! Oh my gosh! What happened? The memories of what happened last night came rushing down. I freaking gave myself to a stranger! I gave him my all! Holy sh*t!I panicked. I got up from the bed and searched for my clothes. My head was throbbing but I don't care. I need to get away soon. F*ck!I frantically hailed a cab and immediately told the driver my address. The sun was still rising. My head was throbbing so bad. While the memories flooded yesterday, I can't believe I gave myself to a man– more like a stranger to me. It was a spur of the moment. When the cab stopped at BGC, I gave the driver a bill and went out without getting my change. I searched my phone in my clutch while I wait for the elevator to open. I dialed Ivy's phone numbe

Chapter 5 - Bankrupt

Bankrupt "Come here, Calliana," Tito called, bringing me back to the present. I slowly went to them. My mind still can't grasp that the man I gave myself to is here in front of me. "This is Rafael Gray Zeigler. He was once a business partner to your papa. He went here to give some respects." I bit my lip and nodded at Tito. I can't look him in the eye. He's too much to take in. "Rafael, this is my niece, Calliana," he introduced. "Nice meeting you, Ms. Calliana," he smirked and held out his hand. That smirk told me that he remembers me but he's pretending that he doesn't know me. I'm happy he's pretending but why is my heart beating so fast. I suddenly remember how he called me 'sweetheart' a lot of times. The way his erotic voice sent shivers down my spine. D*mn! I'm out of my mind! What am I thinking in front of him and my Tito?! I looked at Tito and they were both waiting for me to take his hand. I slowly held his hand. At the touch of his hand, electricity made its way from

Chapter 6 - Late

LateI was dumbfounded at what she said. I can't believe what I'm hearing. "W-what?" I said stuttering unable to fully comprehend what she said. Her gaze went to Tito then to mine. I saw how she hesitated to repeat what she said. "T-the company is at risk of f-failing, Ms. Laurier," she mumbled but her voice was very clear. I wish I didn't hear her. This is the consequence of all the ignoring I did over the past month. My parent's legacy is threatening to disappear just because of my emotions taking over me.I felt myself stumbling but was stopped by Tito's strong grip on my back. "Calm down, Calliana. The company has ongoing projects, and I mean great projects. All the money that Arthur stole will come back. I won't let my sister's company go down like this. I will help you," Tito said reassuringly. What Tito said was the only thing that was keeping me sane. After three days of learning one by one about the company, today is the meeting of board members. I've planned everything

Chaoter 7 - Proposal

ProposalProposal'What is he doing here?' It was the unheard question in my head because everyone in the conference room stood up, shocked just like me, but they immediately went to the man whose aura demands attention. "Mr. Zeigler!" A thunderous voice called. I don't know who called his name but everyone came rushing to him. He was like a king and everyone around him is his servant, waiting for their master to order them around. While here I am still not moving, stunned at his presence. I was still looking at him when his gaze met mine. He looked at me, playfulness evident in his eyes. I averted my eyes to the person he was talking to and apparently it was my Tito Alex. I feel betrayed. "Let us settle down and continue our meeting," Tito said. I saw Rafael nod and urge the board members to sit down. They all went back and Rafael sat on my chair. On my freaking chair. He's acting like he's the boss and I should please him with my presentation. I rolled my eyes at him. He chuckl
