Laura dropped the book she was reading as a very harsh knock collided with her door. "Laura! open the door this minute!" Samantha exclaimed from the other side of the door. Greg came into his vast living room and flopped tiredly on the neat white sofa. He was jet lagged as usual, even though he travelled with his private jet every now and then. He looked around him and smiled. Yes, he was getting everything he wanted and attaining the level he had always aspired to acquire. Money, power and women were nothing to him now. But he felt incomplete. He didn't know why, but there was a void in his life that made him feel he didn't have everything yet that life had to offer. Laura slowly raised her head and looked at the clock on the wall, it was 12am in the morning. She sighed and wondered when the day would break. She was so weak because she hadn't eaten anything for almost three days. She weakly got up from the floor and climbed onto her bed, using the pillows as comfort. Tears filled her eyes for the umpteenth time. She was used to the maltreatment but it still hurt each time she was treated badly. Laura rummaged through her wardrobe searching for a good gown she could wear to her father's formal birthday party. He had arrived the previous night and everyone had been busy since his arrival, so she managed to make out little time to arrange the things she would wear. Laura felt a light touch on her lower back and turned to see who it was. She found herself looking up at dark, piercing eyes in a strong, tanned and handsome face then stiffened when she recognised him. "Sorry I took long in getting the drink my dear, here you go." Greg smiled charmingly at her confused face as he gave her the drink, with a glint in his eyes that hypnotized her into doing what he wanted. "Uh, thanks...for the drink." She replied, collecting the glass from him but didn't drink the content. "Oh, you have company," he commented, finally acknowledging Ronald's presence. "How's your life, Daniels?""I'm always good, as you know." Ronald replied with a smirk. "And how's yours, Williams?""Never better." Greg answered drily and turned to face a confused Laura. He offered her an arm which she automatically accepted and he smiled triumphantly when Ronald scowled. "Have a good night, Daniels." He said and left immediately with Laura. Ronald's scowl deepened. How dare he?

It had been more than a month since Chief West's birthday party. More than a month since he last saw his curvy beauty. He wondered if he had affected her that night. He wondered if she thought of him the way he thought of her. He knew he was rich and attractive and could get any woman he wanted, but from the look of things, he knew that getting this particular girl would require more work than with other women he had had. Though she seemed to like him that night but he wasn't sure because he didn't get to spend much time with her, thanks to her stepmother and sisters. He paused. But what did he really want from her?
