With Jace’s mouth pressed against mine, my knees weakened. Luckily though, he was pressing me against the wall otherwise I would have surely sunken to the floor like a quivering mess. His kissing just seemed to set my whole body on fire. One of his cocky little smiles and I was reduced to a silly little schoolgirl again, crushing on the bad boy. His tongue slid along my bottom lip, and I couldn’t not kiss him back. It was like some magic pull that he seemed to have. It was no surprise to me that he’d had so many girls – he was beautiful. I knew he wouldn’t appreciate that word much, because it wasn’t manly enough, he would have probably preferred something along the lines of ‘ruggedly handsome’, but he was way beyond that. The way his natural blond hair seemed to have a mind of its own and stick up in a sexy, ‘I just got out of bed’ kind of way. The way his piercing blue eyes locked onto mine, and held a confidence, a self-assuredness that said he knew exactly what he was doin

When I woke in the morning the first thought I had was of Ashley. Before I even got out of bed, I texted her to see if I could see her tonight. We messaged back and forth for a little while, and finally agreed that I would go to her place after DJ was asleep. I sighed, unable to keep the contented smile off my face – though it did seem like hours before I could see her again. Today was Sunday, and I wasn’t working, so I had all day to entertain myself before then. I reluctantly pushed myself out of the bed, already bored by the prospect of doing nothing all day. But then a great idea hit me; I hadn’t seen Cameron for almost a week, so I’d go hang out with the Taylors. I showered quickly, and then called them to make sure I could go there. As I walked out of my bedroom, I frowned, looking around my messy apartment; Ashley had certainly hit the nail on the head when she’d called me a slob. I had moved out of my parents’ place when I was eighteen, sharing this apartment w

Fuck, I have it bad already. What a pussy. Flawless and radiant? I’m turning into a girl! “So, can I see you tomorrow night too?” I asked hopefully. She bit her lip and nodded excitedly. I secretly hoped that she liked me as much as I was starting to like her, otherwise she was going to crush me. How had I let myself feel like this? How had this happened so quickly? I knew it wasn’t just lust because I was just as happy listening to her talk as I was laying on top of her. I was falling for her completely. “Sure. You could come over after DJ’s sleeping again? We could get takeout or something?” “Sounds good.” I nodded and kissed her again, moving to kiss down her neck wanting to bite her like I’d promised earlier. She giggled, wriggling underneath me as I sank my teeth into her skin gently. I grinned as she tried to push me off. Oh, she’s ticklish? Game on! Pinning her body with mine, I tickled her sides, listening to her giggle and squeal. “Stop it! I’m gonna p

Ashley’s smile faded as it clicked into place. My heart was trying to break out of my chest, my hands were sweating and my whole body was cold. This was where it ended. Four weeks with her and she was going to dump her drink in my face and scream at me. Ashley clicked her fingers and pointed at Minnie as if she suddenly remembered something interesting. “Oh, I remember now! Sorry, I didn’t recognise your name. Jace and I just refer to you as ‘rebound girl’. Sorry, I should have remembered your name, that was rude of me,” she said, nodding and looking at Minnie with an apologetic face. Minnie glared at her hatefully. “Freaking bitch!” I pulled Ashley behind me slightly in case Minnie tried to hit her, but Ashley just laughed and nodded. “Uh huh. But I’m the bitch with the man you want. Stop trying to cause trouble. I don’t think he’s interested.” She turned to look at me with one eyebrow raised. “Or are you?” she asked, looking a little worried, as if she suddenly

The following morning, I made the couple of hours drive to my parents’ beach house. When I pulled into the drive, I smiled up at the house. I loved coming here. The smell of the air, the white house that I grew up in, the tree that I used to use to climb out of my bedroom when I wanted to sneak out… it brought back happy memories. I headed inside, grinning. Immediately, my mom tackled me into a hug. I laughed as she squeezed the life out of me. “You lost weight!” she griped, patting my back and sides. I pulled back shook my head. That was always the first thing out of her mouth, followed by… “You really need to find a girl to look after you and feed you properly, Jace!” “I missed you,” I said honestly, ignoring her comment. I had a nice girl, and my mom was going to flip when I told her about Ashley! I’d been holding off telling my family in case I screwed it up and got dumped. She smiled and linked her arm through mine, pulling me into the kitchen where s
