Chapter 162: Facing the crowd
Ren changed me into a warrior-style two piece. It was made from the blackest material I've ever seen. The top was a crop top with spaghetti straps which held my breasts firmly. From the waist down, I wore a long skirt with two leg long splits. My midriff was bare. The warrior boots I had on complimented the whole outfit. My hair was up in a high ponytail and I wore a small, blue diamond necklace. My make up was done dark. I had lost weight in the last few days. My ribs were just visible in between the top and the skirt. I did look like a tough fucking bitch. My expression was an angry one as I looked at myself in the mirror. Maybe it was the whole outfit, but I felt anger for what they had put us through. Then again, the first challenge was to kill someone from our sin. Tia had died. They didn't really seem to care about that, either. "Don't worry about Anna for now, as soon as the ceremony has ended, we will look for her. The King will be furious." Ren said. I had explained the

Chapter 163: Let them watch
Three other women, women I didn't know the names of, followed. Their journeys were shown to the world. When they finished, the crowd exploded in cheers and shouts. Every time the screaming started, I looked away. I wondered what the horrors were that they had to witness. Another woman started screaming. They all went on for so long. Then, suddenly, gasps. I looked up and saw the woman waking up. Her wrist band glowed red. "She failed the mental test." Ren clarified in a whisper. I looked up at Ren. "How many failed?" I asked out of interest. Ren looked down at me and got closer. "Five. Two failed, three lost their minds. They have been taken back to their rooms and they're awaiting now if they wake up." Ren explained in a whisper. Three lost their minds. Niran was up next. She entered the stage with a glint in her eye. Her eyes roamed over Adrian with a hungry look. The TV started. Niran also ignored the little girl begging for help. Just looked at her and walked off. Did they al

Chapter 164: Reality TV
I looked at myself as I ran to the girl and shouted at her that I would help her. The crowd behind me broke out in whispers. When I grabbed the girl's hand, and the girl changed into a black, hideous monster, I saw the terror on my face. I surprisingly didn't scream, which I thought I did, but saw myself sinking into the quicksand with the monster trying to grab me more. WHACK The sound of the branch hitting the monster made a horrible sound. And then again. And again. Until the monster let me go and I scrambled backwards. My wrist band lit up green. "I passed?" I asked super soft at Ren, who held me closer. "It could have ended two ways. One way was to see through the vision, or maybe some women genuinely didn't want to help, but also by defeating the monster." Ren explained quickly. I nodded. I can't believe I passed. Then the water scene. I saw myself walking to the water and the crowd seemed to hold its breath behind me. It was almost like a horror movie as I walked into the

Chapter 165: Shock
Lucifer stood up as well, just like Micah. "They're in your realm. Ten of them! Let's get them now!" Samael shouted as he also jumped up. The crowd behind me let out panicked sounds. "We have to go. Now." Micah exclaimed, already looking around for something. What, I don't know. "You've put my woman in danger." Adrian snapped at Lucifer, who looked genuinely shocked. "It's not over." Ren calmly stated. They all whirled their heads to Ren with wide eyes. "It's over. We should probably go and look for them." Mnia snapped at Ren. I tilted my head. "Why, Mnia? You want to share something?" I said back with a sweet tone. Mnia looked at me murderously. "Those are ten dark ones! Right here, in the forest!" Benjamin shouted, grabbing our attention again. "My King. It's not over." Ren said again. I made eye contact with Micah and he looked upset and shocked. "Elle. I didn't know.." Lucifer started but he was interrupted by Ren's hand which had shot up. He signalled for Yroul to continue

Chapter 166: Aftermath
"Come." Adrian whispered in my ear as he pulled me back. He sat on the throne and pulled me right onto his lap. He turned me sideways and grabbed my legs with his other hand and pulled me close, right against his chest. Ren stood on the stage a little bit lost, but walked over when I signalled him. Adrian's hands on me stiffened when Ren walked closer but I nudged him with my shoulder and grasped Ren's hand for a second, which made me a lot calmer. Everybody still seemed in shock. None of the other women wanted to come up on stage. Eyes were on me. Ren stood behind us, by Rana and Niran, and cleared his throat to distract the attention from me. Yroul looked at him. "Yes... Next up is Dira." I saw a woman whose face fell before slowly walking up on stage. "Look at me." Adrian whispered in my ear. I slowly turned my face to him. His hand tightened on my leg when our eyes met. He scanned my face and the cut on my cheek. "I'm sorry." He whispered, almost too soft for me to hear. I fro

Chapter 167: Ceremony
Alone once again, I ran around the castle. The fact that I was wearing a long skirt didn't help with that, but my legs shot through the splits as fast as they could. In my hand, I had a knife. There was nobody around here. Not even guards. It was dead, and my army boots crushed the gravel under me with a lot of noise. When I reached the end of the castle, I halted before running around the corner. Slowly, I peeked around the building and scanned the demons watching the stage on the other side. I was all the way in the back. This was the very end of the crowd. "Welcome back, ladies! We begin!" Yroul loudly announced. I looked over at the stage, to where the women were lining up. The Kings sat in their thrones. I was too far away to see what expression Adrian had on his face. I could guess. Not happy. There were a few buildings here. Multiple stables, sheds, storage buildings, a few houses for the staff who preferred their own space over the castle and more empty, unused buildings.

Chapter 168: Girl's fight
She threw a knife out of me out of nowhere. I ducked down before it could cut me. "And for Pride! The lucky winner..." Yroul's voice was drowned out when Anna threw another knife at me. It flew past me, nearly cutting my ear. "You don't belong here, Elle. Go back to the human realm, back to your school and friends." Anna snapped, before taking a step in my direction. "I do belong here." I said back, jutting out my own knife. Some demons at the back of the crowd turned around to us. I took one step towards Anna over the slanted roof. She looked behind her, towards the drop to the ground and let out an ugly snarl. She jumped forward with another knife and tried to grab my ponytail with her other hand. Where did she hide all those knives? Before she could grab my hair, I grabbed her wrist and held it in an iron grip. Something cut me. I looked to my other wrist to see Anna had cut open the skin. Hardly feeling it, I looked at myself with calmness and anger. "Drop it, Anna." I orde

Chapter 169: Speech
Multiple demons fell to their knees with that word alone, unable to fight the order. The word rang through my bones. Anna still stood, but I saw Yroul fighting it. She bit her lip and fisted her hands as if it was an effort to keep standing. "I said... BOW." Adrian's loud voice vibrated around me. I held in a groan. My body wanted to go down. I wanted my knees to hit the ground and my forehead to touch the ground. He was my King, and I had to obey his order. I wanted to obey his order, wanted to please him. The entire crowd fell to their knees. Servants, civilians and visitors all went down. Yroul also went down, her head bared to the side for her king. I still stood, together with Anna and Adrian's brothers. Anna had bitten her lip so hard, blood dripped down from her lip to her chin, where it dripped to the ground. I held my head up high. "Anna." Adrian spoke, instantly getting Anna's attention. He took two steps in her direction. "Bow." He simply said. She fell down, her knees

Chapter 170: Nightmares
I really had no idea what the fuck happened in the last hour. The plan was that I confronted Anna, would somehow get her down to the dungeons with Ren, and would then go back to the podium to join the rest of the ceremony. Ren was there to help me if I needed it, and to alert Adrian if I was in any danger. I had to convince Adrian for this because he didn't want to leave my side. I had almost fought with him over it but I didn't want to risk Anna running away again. Nothing went according to plan. I had another shower in Adrian's room, with Adrian and Ren right outside the door waiting for me. I begged Ren to stay. His touch was one I needed right now. "Tell me." Adrian pleaded once he sat me down with a plate of food in front of me. "Tell me about the mental test." I looked down at the food with my stomach turning over. Ren sat opposite of me and Adrian paced through the room nervously. "I don't think you want to hear, Adrian." I replied. My tiredness was becoming a real problem

Chapter 171: Touch
I woke up with a throbbing need between my legs. Almost moaning, I put my hand on Adrian's chest and kissed his neck slowly. Adrian groaned, still sleeping, and put his arm around me, pulling me closer. I snuggled in but was stopped when I felt my other hand on someone else. It was still night and I looked behind me in the dark bedroom. Ren's head was close to mine. His eyes were shut and his arm was half around me. He snored softly and moved slightly when I removed my hand from his. I looked at Adrian again, feeling horny. I bit my lip in an effort to stop moaning when I saw his peaceful face facing me. He really was a freaking God. How could someone be this attractive? His face was so relaxed, so different than when his King mask was on. Ignoring my carnal need to sit on top of Adrian and have my way, I silently left the bed and walked into the bathroom. My peaceful dreams made me more relaxed. It made all the horrors of yesterday seem small, far away. Jeez. I looked like I ha
