《Mate on His Front Door》全部章節：第 51 章 - 第 60 章

He stood in front of her as if he was the owner of her, commanding her body to stay rooted, even when he invaded her personal space and stood only a foot away. While she swore, she was breaking a record, because she had never been like this for or with anyone before. She tried to punish herself, and break whatever spell he had cast on her. “Leave me alone," she demanded, surprised that he was like this with her when anyone could easily come into the room. "Not until you talk to me." He said, and she quickly retorted. "I have nothing to say.""Too bad for you." He said, his arm snaking around her waist, and he pushed his weight into her, knocking her off balance. Her eyes widened in fear, but her brain told her at the last minute that he wouldn’t let her fall, so she calmed down, only for them to tumble down together. He held her close, as they tumbled on the soft rug that was laid in front of the counter, Alex landing on top of him while he took the brunt of the fall. "I'm not done

As expected, he was back to work as if she had not just come some minutes ago to interrupt him and announce that food was ready. She shook her head, using her body to push the door close. The tray in her hand contained the food she had dished out for him for dinner. Slowly, she walked towards him, and when she saw that he was still bent over his desk, not looking at her, she shouted. “Get your hands off those papers, Gabriel, and come eat dinner.” She set the plate on the small table that was in front of the couch in his office. He looked up at her with a chuckle, before dropping his pen again and walking to her. “Well, let's see what dinner is.” He said. He didn’t care what dinner was, he just wanted to have her stay longer, and he would do everything he could think of to achieve that. Alex heaved a short sigh, being slow to give a response. She took off the napkin she covered the tray with and said. “Dinner is beef steak, rice with shrimp, and vegetable sauce. I brought cold iced

How did Alex deduce that from what she had said? Cara asked herself, but then, she realized that her fear was not misplaced totally with the way Gabe had been pushing her away like some jerk instead of explaining the situation. Shaking her head, she grabbed Alex's hands in her and turned to face her completely on the bed they sat on. “No, Alex, that’s not the case. He’s not rejecting you. If anything, I think he’s trying his best to be mated to you as well.” She said. “Then why is he pushing me away?” she asked. “Because, as he said, he doesn’t want to lose control with you. You see, there is so much you don’t know about being a werewolf, and that includes the fact that people who are not mated to their mate can’t live a complete life, a free and sweet life like they should. I’m sure Gabe won’t want to choose that over being with you and enjoying peace. He must have his reason for all of this. I know you like him a lot, so the least you can do for him is to try your best to underst

A few minutes after Alex went downstairs to check on the food and get the wine was when she heard the screeching of cars from outside. Cara had told her that Gabe was back, but he had also gone to freshen up. Soon, the bell rang, and she walked from the hall where she was standing to the front door to open it. “Welcome, Dean.” She said when she saw that he was the one that had arrived. He asked her if Gabe had arrived and she nodded. “Okay, that’s good. We’re expecting three people, investors in the charity event we’re trying to put together.” Alex nodded. She had not been told the number of people coming, but now she knew. Aside from the people she knew that would be sitting around the long table they had set at the dining hall, she would be seeing three more people, strangers. She looked slightly intimidated by the thought of being around wealthy strangers, but then she shook her head and walked back to the kitchen. She stayed in the kitchen, even when the first guest arrived,

He walked to the counter and stood there, as she walked to the corner table to drop the plate. Quickly, he adjusted his trouser and made sure she didn’t see anything amiss. He folded his arms, waiting for her to do or say something, anything, but nothing came. Instead, she walked to him where he stood and pressed into him. He could tell that she wasn’t thinking much of what she was doing because there was no embarrassed or flushed look on her face. She was only trying to grab the plate behind him. Her breasts pressed into his shoulder as she leaned over him, and as she walked away to return the plate to the sink where she had taken it from early, he imagined what it would have felt like to wrap his hands around her waist. Gabe was tired, if anything, he had tried and tried to stay away from Alex so that he wouldn’t lose control, but to what extent? He thought about her every damn day, no, every second, whenever he was working or not, not able to concentrate on things that needed con
