Another Side of Alex

A few minutes after Alex went downstairs to check on the food and get the wine was when she heard the screeching of cars from outside. Cara had told her that Gabe was back, but he had also gone to freshen up.

Soon, the bell rang, and she walked from the hall where she was standing to the front door to open it.

“Welcome, Dean.” She said when she saw that he was the one that had arrived.

He asked her if Gabe had arrived and she nodded. “Okay, that’s good. We’re expecting three people, investors in the charity event we’re trying to put together.”

Alex nodded. She had not been told the number of people coming, but now she knew. Aside from the people she knew that would be sitting around the long table they had set at the dining hall, she would be seeing three more people, strangers. She looked slightly intimidated by the thought of being around wealthy strangers, but then she shook her head and walked back to the kitchen.
