“My Lord.” I heard people call out the moment master sat on his throne, and I took my position beside his feet.“You may all sit.” My master said in a serious tone. The sound of his voice was unlike any he had used on me. It was emotionless and cold. It made me happy “Brother.” At the sound of the familiar voice, my heart skipped a beat. I tried to raise my head, to look at the man who thought he can bully me, but the spell master cast on me was so strong, I couldn't fight it, no matter how hard I try. “Brother.” My master replied to the greetings; however, his voice sounded colder. It was as if he would rather not reply to the call. “You don't have to—”“We are in a meeting. I will prefer you to comport yourself.” My master said with his teeth clenched. His tone of voice, and the way he acts whenever the vampire whom he called brother is around, made me know there is lost blood between them.Could it be that they both are vying for the same position?“Wisely said, brother.”

“Don't worry, I will deal with him. You don't have to think of him any more than you will.” I opened an eye and glanced at master, whose expression looked pained. “Please master.” I tightly held on to his neck as if I were afraid, he might throw me down.“What do you want?” He lightly caressed my hair.“I want you to make it go away.” I had to bite my lips to look pitiful. This way, Master won't know I'm trying to seduce him by acting pitiful when I'm anything but. If acting like a damsel distressed will get me what I want, then, that's what I will act like. “I will be back. Lie on the bed.” Master tried to drop me on the bed, but I tightly clung to him.“Please, don't put me down, master,” I begged while having a pitiful expression on my face. “What do you want?” My master sighed as he gave me a once-over. “I want you to make me forget the feel of his hand on me. Please, I need to forget.” “Don't worry, I won't be long. Just sleep.” He kissed me on my forehead.“I don't want

I yawned as I stretched my taut muscles. My back aches, but I was content.“Why are you acting like a kitten?” Master asked as he got ready for the day. Here my master is, getting ready for the day when the supposed pet is sleeping like the master.“Good morning, master.” I smiled at him as I yawned some more. This time, I purposefully pushed my breasts forward.“Morning.” “Where are you going?” I ran a hand through my hair, not mindful that my bosoms were on full display. After all, that's what I want, to get my master's attention on me.“There are things I need to do outside the Palace today.” He sat on the bed and touched my cheeks, “don't leave the room today. He's still out there. And I'm afraid you might kick him again.” “What?”My eyes widened at his words.“You don't think I know?” Master smirked. “You know I kicked your brother?” I asked in a small, pitiful tone. “Yes, I do.” “Then why didn't you say anything? Why did you allow me to act that miserable when you realize

“That's it. You are getting possessive of a human. Don't you think it will raise suspicions?” The male who spoke up earlier, challenged. This time, it tempted me to glance up to look at him, but when I recalled my promise to master, I kept my face down and my hands balled into a fist.“Why won't I be possessive of my pet?” Master asked in an emotionless voice. “Tell me, if you have a dog as a pet, won't you be possessive of the dog?” I silently gasped at my master's words. Out of all the things he should have referenced, why will he make use of a dog?Is that how vampires view their pets?Do they think we are the same as dogs?“But I don't think I will be as protective of the dog as you are with her.” The female said once more.“Why are you concerned about her?” “Let me have a taste of her, my Lord. Since she's your pet, you won't mind it if I only have a taste, will you?” The female asked once more. Her remarks caused shivers to run down my spine as I tried to control my emotion

“How are you?” Master touched my forehead.“Feeling like shit.” I shivered a bit as I covered my body with the heavy blanket master got for me. “No curse words, Star.” Master pinched my cheeks, “I would rather not hurt you, but you keep on provoking me to do that.” “It's not my fault!” “And whose fault is that, pet?” Master raised a brow at me.“No one.” “I sent for the human maid. She will be here before nightfall.” “You don't have to go to such lengths to take care of me. Like I told you before, I'm fine. You don't—” “You are fine, yet you claim to be feeling like shit.” He flicked my forehead, “you are still like as stubborn as you have always been.” “Why are you bullying me? Is it because I'm sick?” I pouted. “Are you certain you are sick? You don't seem that sick to me.” “Mas—” A knock on the door interrupted me. “I think she's here.” My master rose from the bed and walked to the door to check on the person who was knocking like an enraged human.“Good day, master.” I
