Chapter 22. She's just a purchased woman for the Alpha Zach's POV "Mmm, the coffee is good. Who made it?" I raised my eyebrows of satisfaction and looked into the cup holding the brewing fragrant black coffee. My mom gave me a twisted look and after gritting her teeth, "Your father!" She mocked me. I laughed and put my head into her lap not before placing the cup aside. I know it was made by her. No one can make such tasty coffee than my mom. It is just that I wanted to tease her! I like how her big eyes widen even bigger and throw spears of anger at me when I tease her. My mother is irascible unlike my father who is composed and takes forever to lose his shit and come out spleenful. "Well then, dad is a good chef. I love this coffee a lot." She rolled her eyes. To make matters worse, I hurled another annoying statement at her, "I regret my whole childhood that went into vain since you were the cook!" "Zachhhh!" She slapped my shoulder and threw a searing glare at me. "W

24. She's taken by the rogues!!! Zach's POV Gosh, why can't I focus on my bloody business. Why do I have to think about her again and again? Or about a suffering childhood she may have had under a greedy father's shadow? Why does my mind wander back to her helpless mother who may have been hooked with him in a marriage no less than a bargain with a selfish businessman who stared at her as a good trade rather than as a woman worth being a life partner? Why do I think about her mother's condition for finding her daughter's bed empty the next morning? And then when she inquired her husband regarding her location, her appalled expressions and hammering chest while being told about her daughter's now fate in a completely bizarre place! A small sound of displeasure howled beneath my breath. I closed the laptop and dipped my face in my hands. I can't concentrate on anything else but her. I want to know more about her life she lived in India before and all her emotions she felt or cur

Chapter 26. A vow to protect her forever Jade POVThe back of my eyes throbbed. The burn in my chest overflowed as I felt fingers pulling the straps of my bra. "Her boobs are huge. No less than freshly ripe melons." I cringed at someone's remark as fingers trailed my cleavage. I have accepted my unfortunate end and was waiting for it to consume me. I was already dead inside and my mind was just waiting for that one hard blow that would put it off forever. Nevertheless, a pair of soothing hands encapsulated my shoulders and pulled me into a sitting position. My heart seemed to rest down for the touch was not perverted. It was rather relieving. My ears burst with vivid noises— apparently a combination of screams and yelps. Sharp sound of blade slicing through something into two irritated my ear drums. The heavy air somewhat lightened around me. I sensed being alone with no hand tugging at my garments any more. My eyes flew open as a wave of trepidation and pure terror washed over

Chapter 28. I Won't Cross Her Path Zach's POVMy body was drowning heavily in sleep. As the relaxation dawned over my wary frame my muscles calmed down. I shifted my face comfortably on the mattress from Jade's hand without leaving it.I desired to catch a wink of sleep. But then I heard the thudding noise of the door as it was pushed open vigorously, making it hit the adjacent wall . "Jade," An alarming voice belonging to my mother drummed my ears and I was on my feet, far away from the bed. "Oh, darling," She leaned over her body to check her face. My wolf gulped a knot of apprehension as we sensed her take a deep aggressive breath. No doubts my mom was distressed. What afflicted my wolf and I was her menacing body language. "Look at her face, Zavier. She's dry of color and so calm like she's not alive." I took another step backward while verifying that my movements didn't forge any sound. Taking my mom's attention during this time is the last thing I want. She may be my mothe

30. Why don't you talk to me, alpha?! Jade's POVI was admiring the intricate carving on the poles near Alpha Zach's bedroom as I waited for Beta Nathan. He didn't let me go inside his room but assured he would inform the alpha that I want to see him and try to fix a meeting between us. It is kind of awkward that I wish to see him even after what I went through because of him. But I praise him. Had he not come to rescue me in the woods, then God knows what would have happened to me. I still wonder if he was any minute late then would I still be alive? Would I still be so determined? Would I still be in one piece? Those rogues were definitely bulky and huge. They could carry me like a stuffed doll. As if I was not heavy at all. Their bare body was scary. With muscles everywhere, they shuddered the shit out of me. I still get affected and forget breathing normally as the images of that unfateful day crosses my thoughts. However, I have managed to put that day in the past and look a
