Lahat ng Kabanata ng Build You Up : Kabanata 61 - Kabanata 70

Missy POVThe following week and a half went by in a flash. Knowing I was expecting came with a roller coaster of emotions. I would be excited with Adrian one minute, and then he would leave for work, and I’d be left alone with my thoughts, then fall into a fit of depression again. I miss my mom, more than ever, and all I want is for her to be here to tell me it was all going to be okay and that I could do this. I even find myself missing my dad. Yeah, he sucked at times. Well, most of the time, but he was still my dad. I'm bringing a baby into this world, becoming a parent when I don't have parents of my own.I’m not alone anymore, though. Adrian’s family has become my family, more than ever before. Rick wants me to start coming to work for him and Adrian to keep me busy in a place where I am not alone for long periods of time. It was originally Brittany’s suggestion, since she was the first one to notice how emotional I’ve been getting when I’m alone, but now that the idea is in

Hours earlier…. Barry POVI finally was able to sneak the fuck out, getting past the help in the house that always seemed to be watching me from the windows and around the main house when I braved going in. It took a few days, but I finally figured out their schedules enough to plan my escape.I used to take dad’s Porsche for little joy rides when I was in high school, before I got my driver’s license and my own car. I would just push it out the back swinging door of the garage into the back alley in neutral, waiting until I was a few houses down before starting it. As long as I put the car back by morning, no one found out. Dad keeps the car and has it serviced regularly just because it was given to him by grandpa. They won’t notice it missing for days. When I got back to this shit hole of a town, it was already afternoon. I left early in the morning, before my babysitters in the house woke up, but this thing doesn’t go that fast on these windy, coastal roads. With traffic, it was

I’ve been sitting in the station, handcuffed, waiting across the desk from a sheriff for hours now. They haven’t booked me. I haven’t gotten a chance to call my lawyer. Nothing. It’s bull shit.Missy could be waking up, wondering where I was at. She needs me, but because of a split second decision, I’m stuck here. Doing nothing but watch the time pass by, staring angrily at Freddie, or whatever the fuck this guy's name is, while he typed away at his computer, drinking fucking coffee, which I still didn’t have.“I need to get the fuck out of here,” I growled at him. “My girlfriend is-““Mr. Brewer, we know. I heard you the first few times. We have to wait to find out what to do with you since you broke that….gentleman’s jaw and nose.”“That psychopath tried to-““Kill your girlfriend and unborn baby. I know. That’s why you’re out here and not in a cell. I understand. We understand. Honestly, son, I would have done the same as you. The problem is, that man’s attorneys and family had alr

Adrian POVI’m leaning against the wall right by the door to Missy’s room, glaring at the lawyer where he is standing talking to the EMT people here to help to try and transfer Missy, as well as two security guards I was told were here for precautionary measures. This hell just keeps getting worse. “Why the hell does he think you’re after her money? For fuck’s sake, the money she did give you went straight to Monica for the adoption. You didn’t keep a dime of it,” Brittany scoffs, talking loud enough so the lawyer can hear her. “Just stop, Britt. I know you want to fight and argue, but she’s awake. She can handle him herself. We will just make it worse.”I told her that, but I wanted to fight with him too. He’s trying to take half my world away. I can kind of understand where he is coming from, but he’s wrong. I love her and would never take advantage of her like that. The security guards keep eyeing me, expecting me to start punching the lawyer or something, I’m sure. My violent

Missy POV6 months later….“Mommy, Daddy said to tell you to get your tooshie in the car,” Hailey yells through the door at me. I rolled my eyes, sighing loudly. “You tell him that my tooshie is going to take its sweet time. Also, tell him not to send you to fight his battles.” He knows I won’t yell at her, but I will bite his head off if he tries to rush me.“Oooh-kay,” she sings back, and I can almost picture her skipping out to the car to relay my words back to her dad. He’s the one that made my tooshie need to go to the bathroom 50 times a day. He can wait. We are having my baby shower today, thanks to Brittany and a few of the other moms from Hailey's school. We have over an hour until it starts. I don’t know why Adrian is in such a rush. I finish my business, then stand at the mirror in the bathroom at Rick’s house, where we have been living for the past several months. I pucker my lips and start reapplying my lip gloss. It smells like lemons and, for some strange reason, h
