“So, what’s the plan next?” she asked while treating Daemon’s wound. They just came home after what happened and they’re already planning for their next move. Lucy is fast asleep in the other room after their helper brought her to bed. She slowly put on his jacket for him and sat on the floor looking up to him sitting on the bed. “We need to strengthen our security. Brian would surely suspect that Lucy is here so this is the safest place we have now. I’m sure he will not blow the place where he is suspecting that we’re hiding his daughter.”“You’re right so what are we going to do now?”He reached for the gun on the floor and put it on his side while never leaving her eyes. “We have to strike first. We cannot wait for your father’s next move. Our main priority is eliminating Gestoni. In that way, your mother will be able to talk. She’ll confess where they’re hiding Emily. Tonight, I’ll make sure to corner her and let me frankly tell you Devon that this could not end well. It’s eithe

Devon is panting for air. Her chest is heaving but there is a new sense of new emotion that she has just felt now. Looking at her hands full of blood and the man unconscious on the dirt ground brought a different kind of euphoria and satisfaction she has just come to experience now. “So is this the kind of feeling dad and Daemon are having on a daily basis?” She stared at the gun in her hand. “So this is power,” she muttered and emptily glanced at the man lying on his own blood. She broke most of his bones already but it seemed like she wanted to do more. Of course she can do more. When Daemon showed her where he kept Joffrey, he basically gave her the permission to do anything she wanted to do with him. That includes even killing him now. “Can I do it? Can I really kill a person?” she asked herself, her eyes going back from the man and the gun on her hand. She aimed the gun at him and inhaled. “Come on, Devon. Kill him. He made your life a living hell. He’s a rapist. He doesn’t

“I’m telling you, Melena. If you do not want to be beaten again then shut your mouth up!” Gestoni’s uptight voice echoed in the walls of the mansion that witnessed how Devon tried to cope with the death that was served in front of her. But Melena remained in her place not backing down despite the immense pressure her husband is exerting against her. “Even if you kill me, I would still tell her! I can’t take this anymore! I’m done being silent regarding this. Gestoni, that was our granddaughter! The first one we had! I can no longer carry the guilt inside.”Devon slowly stood up from the floor both appalled and confused by her statement. What is she talking about? What does she mean by that? Is it about Emily? Her instincts are telling her it’s about Emily.“Mom! What is it you’re talking about?! Tell me!” she begged her mother hoping she would kill the suspense and tell her if what she’s thinking about this is right. “Melena!” Gestoni interrupted to stop his wife. “Go back upstair

“Daemon?!” she asked and stopped in her tracks. She’s feeling too happy and confused at the same time. Happy because her husband is alive. He survived his injuries miraculously. Confused because what is he even doing here?Devon ran towards him and hugged him tightly while sobbing in his arms. He felt his hand on her head caressing it gently like he always does to comfort her. And then he gently pulled away her hands from his waist that were tightly clasping around him never wanting to let go. “Thank you for holding up. Now leave the rest to me, Devon. You go live your life without me in it.”Slowly, she looked up at him with an open mouth, her tears stopped from streaming down her blood-soaked face. She stood there as the meaning of his words finally registered in her head. “No! I won’t leave you. I am the one who killed that monster. No one should suffer but me. It’s my greatest revenge against him! Why are you even doing this? You are severely wounded. You are supposed to be rest

She found herself going back into their mansion where the wake of her father is being held. On the entrance, her mother could not hold her anger and attacked her and slapped her hard on both of her cheeks. She accepted the two slaps but not the third one. Those two were enough. Hitting her on the third time would already be a disrespect for her, Emily, and her baby.“How dare you come here in your father’s wake after you killed your own father?!” she shouted helplessly at her face while the forlorn guests looked on waiting for the drama to unfold.Devon looked at the whole place and sighed. "His other sons aren't here. Does it mean they also killed him?""How dare you!" She tried slapping her again but she dodged it. "If I know that this will happen then I shouldn't have told you the truth! I should have kept it all inside me! I regretted telling you about your daughter's death."Devon can only nod in pain. "See, this is why we'll never mend our broken relationship. I can understand t

One year after,“I’ve come to visit you, dad, finally.”She placed a basket of flowers into the grave of Gestoni Farrows and gazed at his name. It’s been months since he was buried but it’s the first time she visited him. She already came from Emily’s grave earlier. Coming into her resting place every day has been her routine. “I am not like you, dad. I was not corrupted by power. I am still here wanting to leave this all behind.” Sitting on the ground, she looked at the clear blue sky above her. “Are you feeling good there? What is it like being finally at peace? That’s unfair when you left us all here in chaos.”For her, forgiveness is still far-fetched. The pain is still fresh and she thought she would never have gotten over the death of her daughter. But life goes on especially for the people whom she should be strong for. She already accepted in her heart and mind that being a Farrows is just a part of her past. Until now, she has not talked with her mother. She knows that it
