Chapter eleven

Angel Roswell I watched as Heaven ran around the garden with Selena, my wife. It was a strange feeling, seeing the two of them together. I didn't love Selena, and I knew she hated me too, but she was good with Heaven. I couldn't deny that.Heaven laughed as she played, and Selena joined in. It was a rare moment of happiness for us, even if it was just for show. I couldn't help but feel grateful that Selena was there for Heaven, even if I couldn't be the father she deserved.Later that day, I sat in my office with Andreas, my best friend and right-hand man. We were going over some business deals when I brought up Selena."I'm happy she's getting along with Heaven," I said, leaning back in my chair.Andreas raised an eyebrow. "Really? You hate her, Angel.""I know," I sighed. "But she's good for Heaven. I can't deny that."Andreas nodded slowly. "Maybe you should try to make things work with her."I snorted. "That's not going to happen. She hates me, and I don't love her.""Well, then

Selena's POV:I couldn't help but feel annoyed when Angel nearly ran into me as he left his office once again, I hate the fact that I had to pass his office to get to Heaven's room. And he was always so careless and never seemed to care about anyone else's feelings. I was about to snap at him when he spoke first."Watch where you're going, Selena," he said, pushing past me.I sneered at him. "Why bother? You never consider anyone else's feelings anyway."He clenched his jaw, and I knew I had hit a nerve. "I don't have time for this, Selena. I have more important things to deal with than your attitude.""Of course, you do," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Like playing mob boss and neglecting your daughter."I saw a flicker of guilt cross his face, but he quickly masked it. "I have to go," he said shortly before walking away.I muttered under my breath as I watched him go. That night, I lay in bed, unable to sleep. I kept tossing and turning, my thoughts consumed by Heaven and

Selena’s pov I left Heaven with Bianca in the room, and started to walk down the hallway. My heart was racing, and I could feel the sweat on my palms. I was about to confront my father, the man who raised me and loved me unconditionally. But now, he was the one attacking us, trying to get me back from Angel's evil clutches. As I reached the end of the hallway, I saw my father standing there, his eyes red with anger. I could see the pain and desperation in his eyes, and it broke my heart. But I knew what I had to do. I took a deep breath and approached him slowly."Dad," I said softly, trying to keep my voice steady. "Please listen to me. I can't go back with you."My father looked at me, his expression softening slightly. "Selena, you have to come back with me. You can't stay with that man. He's not good for you."I knew he was right, but I couldn't tell him the whole truth. I hated Angel for forcing me to marry him, but I had to stay with him for the sake of my father's life. It wa

SelenaI woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window, feeling refreshed and excited for the day ahead. As I got out of bed and stretched my arms, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of seeing my little angel, Heaven. I had grown fond of her. I quickly got dressed and made my way to Heaven's room, eager to start the day with my little one. As I walked down the hallway, I could hear Saint and Heaven giggling and chatting away, which made me feel a bit confused. When I opened the door, I saw Saint and Heaven sitting on the bed, sharing a joke and laughing together. It was such a heartwarming sight to see them both so happy and carefree in each other's company."Good morning, Saint!" I greeted him with a warm smile."Good morning, Selena! How did you sleep?" Saint replied with his usual friendly demeanor."I slept great, thank you for asking. And how about you?" I asked, genuinely curious about his wellbeing."I slept like a baby, thanks to your comfortable guest room,

Chapter fifteen

Selena I stood before the mirror, carefully adjusting the last few tendrils of my wavy, chestnut hair. Tonight was no ordinary night. Tonight, I would slip away from the gilded cage that was my life and venture into a world of possibilities. It was Bianca's school party, and though I knew Angel would never approve, I couldn't bear to miss it. Tonight, I would be free.I took a deep breath, my eyes sparkling with anticipation. The dress I wore was a daring scarlet, hugging my curves in all the right places. It felt liberating to wear something other than the drab, suffocating attire Angel had made his guards get me. Tonight, I was Selena, not just Angel's wife, I have missed this part of me so much, I miss my life over at my fathers house. I was determined to savor every stolen moment.Bianca's car pulled up outside the grand estate, she had to park In front in other for me to maneuver through. My heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and nervousness. This was the moment. If we wer

Selena’s povAs I turned the key in the front door lock, a wave of unease washed over me. The house felt unusually quiet, and the tension in the air was palpable. I hesitated for a moment, trying to summon the courage to step inside. My heart pounded in my chest, matching the rhythm of my anxious breaths. With a deep breath, I pushed the door open, and there he was.Angel stood in the middle of the living room, his arms crossed tightly across his chest. His usually warm hazel eyes were now cold, filled with a mixture of anger and disappointment. I felt my stomach sink as I realized he had found out about my secret excursion to the party last night."Selena," he hissed, his voice dripping with venom. "Where have you been?"I took a tentative step forward, my eyes darting around the room, searching for any signs of forgiveness or understanding. None were to be found. "I... I went out with some friends," I stammered, my voice barely a whisper. "I'm sorry, Angel. I didn't think it would be

Chapter seventeen

Selena’s pov I sat at the ornate vanity in my bedroom, gazing into the mirror as I absentmindedly brushed my long, dark hair. My mind was clouded with thoughts, doubts, and an unsettling realization that had been creeping up on me for quite some time. I couldn't deny it any longer—I was being weak, allowing Angel to talk to me rudely and stop me from going out, and my own silence was complicit in his actions.Angel, was not only a powerful figure in the mafia but also a man who knew how to manipulate and control. Over the month, I had become accustomed to his brash behavior, his sharp tongue, and his complete disregard for my feelings. But now, as I stared at my reflection, something in me had changed. I am the daughter of a mafia! A surge of determination coursed through my veins. I had grown up surrounded by the mafia, watching my father command respect and instill fear in others. I had learned the ins and outs of this world, yet I had allowed myself to be reduced to nothing more

Chapter eighteen

Selena’s pov As I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the straps of my crimson dress, excitement pulsed through my veins. Tonight was a special night – an opportunity to escape the suffocating grip of my life and embrace the freedom that had eluded me for so long. I was going out with Bianca and Saint, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration. I was tired of being controlled by Angel. I glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already past seven, and I knew Bianca and Saint would be waiting for me downstairs. But there was one person I deliberately chose not to inform about our plans – my so called husband, I felt no obligation to seek his permission for a simple night out. This was my chance to assert my independence and reclaim a piece of myself. Heaven was asleep so I wasn’t very worried going out and I was sure her new nanny was taking care of her and watching her right now. With a final check in the mirror, I ensured every strand of my hair was perfectly in pla

Chapter nineteen

SELENAAs I watched Heaven twirling around in her frilly pink dress, a thought crossed my mind. Why not take her out on a special date, just the two of us? Ever since her father and I got married, I had been trying my best to build a strong bond with her. This would be the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time together and create memories that would last a lifetime."Heaven, sweetheart, would you like to go on a special date with me today?" I asked, crouching down to her level. Her eyes widened with excitement as she nodded vigorously."Really, Mummy? Just you and me?" Heaven's little voice was filled with delight, and I couldn't help but smile."Yes, my darling. Just you and me," I replied, ruffling her golden curls affectionately. "Now, let's get ready for our special day out, shall we?"Heaven squealed with joy, clapping her hands as we both rushed to get ready. I helped her put on her favorite white sneakers, and she insisted on carrying her favorite stuffed bunny, Mr. Cu

ANGELAs I walked through the front door, my heart skipped a beat when I saw Selena standing by the living room window, holding the hand of Heaven. Instantly, a wave of anger washed over me. How could she do this? How could she take my precious daughter to see a man, her so-called friend? My blood boiled at the thought. I had instructed my guards to follow her and they found her going to a man’s house after going to the playground with Heaven. I took a deep breath, attempting to compose myself before approaching Selena. The tension in the room was palpable, the atmosphere thick with unspoken words. With every step closer, my anger intensified, but I knew I had to confront her calmly, rationally. Heaven's well-being was at stake, and I couldn't let my emotions cloud my judgment."S-Selena," I managed to say, my voice trembling slightly. "Can we talk? Alone?"Selena turned towards me, her face etched with surprise and a hint of apprehension. She must have sensed the turmoil within me, b
