Colby sat beside Tanya and pulled her toward his body, "my baby, I don't know if you will be satisfied with what I did but I have avenged what happened to you to some extent."Tanya stared at him in surprise, "did you really do that?"Colby went ahead to tell Tanya what he did to Tyrone, Drew, and her grand aunt and emphasized to her that the guy who had tried to rape her in her house was not dead.Tanya stared at him in shock as he explained how granny Ann had worked with Tyrone to make a fake newspaper to deceive her into thinking that she was wanted and needed to go into hiding. As Tanya recalled how much she was lied to and all the times Tyrone had threatened to call the cops on her if she did not go along with his plans, she began to cry once again, "I am stupid, Colby, I am so stupid. How could I not be able to tell a fake newspaper from a real one?"Colby stroked her back, "it's not your fault, Tanya. You did nothing wrong. They were the ones who did wrong by taking advantage o

Tanya went back home and told Colby about everything that transpired between her and Derek. "Well done," Colby said to her. "Do you feel sad? are you heartbroken or something? you just seem quiet.""I am most certainly not sad," Tanya replied, "however I do feel bad for Derek. I did not want to hurt him, but there is nothing I can do. I just wish I had gotten my memory before starting college, that way I wouldn't have led him on or ended up breaking his heart, I feel like I'm a bad person.""No, you are not," Colby replied. "you're my angel, my sweet Tanya, and having you back in my life is a blessing I would never take for granted. I am so happy that your memories returned and as much as I understand what Derek is going through, I do not feel pity for him. Serves him right for trying to date my girl."Tanya frowned, "is that supposed to make me feel better? Anyways, I feel relieved that I finally told him the truth. And I'm happy too that I remember everything. I'm sure Derek would

Sandra quickly covered up and ran into her room while Jude threw his head back and laughed. Now he understood why Colby had asked him to come.In his opinion, Sandra didn't seem like someone who was attacked. As he looked around her house, he suspected that she had thrashed it herself and it got him thinking. She had called Colby to come and she told him she was scared which meant that Colby was the person she wanted to see. With the seductive way in which she was dressed, he suspected that she had planned to seduce Colby and Colby might have been aware of her intentions, but why had he referred to her as his family?Sandra ran into her room, wore proper clothes, and came out. She pointed her finger at Jude and warned, "if you don't leave right now I'm going to call the cops and I'm going to tell them that you are a thief who is harassing me in my home."Jude laughed and took out his badge, showing it to Sandra, he said, "I'm so sorry to disappoint you, ma'am but I'm a cop, I came her

The investigator said, "Okay, Mr. Tanner. Let's start with business deals that went wrong, especially recent ones. I will also need the names of people who you have sacked in the past, arrested, or sent to prison. The moment Tanya heard the officer, she said, "Tyrone and Drew. They are still in jail and may want to kill you so they can walk free."Colby shook his head, "they don't have the balls to do that.""let me worry about that," the investigator said. Just give me all the names you can think of and I will look at what they have been up to."Colby replied, "I seldom fire my workers because I only employ the best. In the past few years, I've fired about three people and I wonder if they would be bold enough to make an attempt on my life."The investigator smiled, "you never can tell, Mr. Tanner. You'd be shocked by what most people are capable of."Colby gave the investigator a total of twelve names and he left after assuring him that he would get back to him in three days. After

The private investigator came into the house and they all exchanged pleasantries. After that, he went straight to the point and said, "I was able to put the listening device on Shelia and stayed around until I got the information I wanted. As usual, Derek arrived and they spent time discussing a lot of things. I've trimmed out the boring parts and I know that their conversation will interest you."He played the audio from his phone and in it, Sheila could be heard saying, "I told you not to bring up this Colby Tanner issue again but you are bent on it, Derek. The boyfriend I got who works in Colby's control room was released yesterday along with others and he did not rat us out so let's just cut our losses and forget about this."Derek said, "no Sheila, I've put all my hope on inheriting Colby's wealth when he's gone. I've told you that Tanya is easy to manipulate so how can we let go of such a good opportunity? The first plan was a near success, it was just bad that Colby wasn't the
