Nodding his head, Alpha Amal smiled at her. He had thought about it and torn apart her idea looking for loopholes, but there were none. They could find. The water source that even fed the well in the Stevens estate water and tap water directly from it. Not only would it save the entire pack, it might even cost less than Mr. Stephens, Paisley's father, wanted him to pay. He moved his head towards hers and kissed her all over face. “ Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. ”He beamed at her like he had just won the lottery, and Sam knew from that that the idea that she had just given him was really good. She had just had no idea it was that good. Smiling she said to him, “it was absolutely my pleasure.” She curled more into him and they went to sleep, Ignoring the pitter patter of feet that they had begun to hear on the mansion's floors. Both of their rooms were locked from the outside, so she felt safe walking around this way; she went through the interconnecting doors into her

The clock struck midnight, and everyone had congregated to the front of the mansion, where Alpha Amal had his shifts every full moon.Looking over the expanse and seeing the servants, Alpha Amal felt a sense of pride. He singled Sam out - engaged in chatter with her friends and some of the kitchen staff - and summoned her to the front of the gathering. In absolutely no circumstance was she supposed to be seated or standing away from him.Her place was at his right hand side, and he made sure that she was back where she belonged, immediately. The crowd parted to allow her passage, and he noticed that she had a pink blush rushing up her cheeks, the side of her face, and her neck. He noticed that she only blushed up her neck when she was nervous, so he cleared his throat and deviated the attention, getting them to focus on him again. She obeyed his command while they looked away, coming to stand right beside him.As she reached his side, the full moon reached its peak, and he began the

Sam began to notice landmarks that looked familiar, and she gave Alpha Amal directions. The car had been cruising along, and Sam had gotten used to passing trees at whiplash speed. They soon came across a large sheet of rock with a smooth face and Sam remembered it from her journey. She urged Alpha Amal to stop, and when he did she walked over to the rock, put her palm over it and paused. She had first seen that rock a few days into her journey, and it had a crevice in which she had lived. She had stayed in that crevice for about a day or two, and had not been harmed by anything. It was also the first point of the journey at which she had felt comfortable and assured that she would be okay. She touched the rock fondly and went back to the car, continuing the journey in silence. When she got back into the car, Alpha Amal stared at her wordlessly, and for a minute, neither of them spoke. Noticing her sober mood, he turned off the radio, and stopped thrumming his fingers on the steeri

“Are you looking for theAlpha of this pack? ” called a voice, and startled, Sam and Alpha Amal pivoted on their feet. Behind them was a woman, short hair, round face and wide eyes. She looked better nourished than Fabian's entire family, and her sheeks had a shine to them. When the initial shock wore off, she nodded her head.“Yes, I am.” She remembered that Alpha Amal was with her and quickly amended that. “Yes we are, ” she said, gesturing between them. The pale woman looked between them and asked, “what is your name? ”“I'm Sam, and this is Alpha Amal of the Dark Orchard pack.”“What is your business with our Alpha here? ”“No, no business. I was sent on exile a few months back from this pack, but as I have already found a new home and I am settled in, I wanted to check in on my old home. ” Already disarmed by the lady's demeanor, Sam started to walk to the car, pulling Alpha Amal along, “look, it's not necessary that I see him. I just wanted to say hi. It was nice to meet you. ”

When she woke up in the morning, Sam was disoriented and at first did not know where she was. It was the first time in quite some time that she had not had that nightmare of being in her former pack; the montage of Derrick dying, being accused of killing him, and even running away from stray wolves on her journey to this new park - dark orchard - had not featured in her dreams. She woke up with her head on Alpha Amal's chest. He was half asleep, but she had memories of his fingers trailing through her hair and her getting dressed in something she did not remember putting on. Remembering that she had not done her job when they got back, she sat up startled. When she looked around, she initially searched for the suitcase, and then she wiped her eyes only to find that the clothes that they had brought back from the trip had been packed away and set into the closet. The room was clean and she was freshly showered - Alpha Amal had gone through so much trouble to ensure that she was comf
