Guilt
"I came as soon as I could. Sorry, traffic was crazy today!" The door opened and Lydia walked into the house, running into the house. She stopped briefly when she spotted Lia lying upside down on the couch, her head hanging down. Jane stood beside her and sighed. "She's been like that all day, I swear I'm about to check her into a hospital." "You said she wasn't feeling anything yet!" Lydia shrieked, storming her foot and Jane glared up at her. "She wasn't. Do you see her feeling?" "Well," Lydia bit her lip and the two continued to argue about Lia as if she wasn't there. "Did you bring the ice-cream?" Jane asked and Lydia nodded. "It's in the bags. What do we do? We can't leave like this? She looks lifeless." "She's sure acting like it. All she has had is a cup of coffee for the nasty hangover she woke up with." Lia sighed and cleared her throat. "I'm right here guys." "She speaks!" Jane announced walking towards the couch and Lydia tagged along, leaning down to look into Li

Broken
Lia shook her head and pushed the tray away for the second time. "I don't want it." Jane sighed and eyed Fernando who was standing at the door, staring at them. "I'm tired of this. It's been two weeks since her mother's death and she's been like this. I can't get her to eat or do anything else." Fernando didn't look too good either; he actually looked worse than Lia which was scary. His beard was overgrown, his mustache was bushy and his eyes had bags under them. He looked so unkept and broken. He sighed and walked towards the table, squatting by Lia's chair. He had been coming around for a few days now trying to get her to talk to him or at least shout but she wasn't saying anything to him or anyone. "I don't want it." Lia repeated, pushing the tray away and Jane rose to her feet, pushing it back. Lia pushed it away again and Jane pushed it back. They went on with this back and forth for a while until Fernando slammed his fists on the table stopping them. They were making him di

Jane bent and took the covers off Lia's body. "Hey babe, we have to go or we'll be late." "I'm not seeing a therapist. I'm not crazy!" Lia yelled, throwing the covers over her body again and Jane looked at Lydia who was already staring at her. Lydia decided to try her luck. She sat on the bed and smiled at Lia, "Hey babe, no one thinks you're crazy. We just think you need to talk to someone." "Yeah babe," Jane concurred sitting beside Lydia with a smile on her face. "We're just concerned about you. We feel you would be more comfortable talking to a stranger who doesn't know about things." The covers were lifted and Lia stuck her head out. "I can talk to you guys. I don't need to talk to a stranger." She sat up and Jane's heart soared. "Well, do you want to talk?" Lydia continued, hoping to make her see reason. "You haven't told us anything and we're worried about you." Lia sighed and scrubbed her hands over her face. "I didn't mean to make you guys worry, I have just been feelin

Jealousy
Fernando closed the door behind her and walked back to the driver's side. Opening the door, he climbed in and shut the door. He turned to look at her and frowned. "Why isn't your seatbelt on?" Lia flushed and reached for the belt but he leaned in and reached for it at the same time. "I can do it." She insisted but he ignored her. She sighed and released it leaving it for him. He strapped her in and then leaned back in his seat again. Lia could feel his eyes on hers but she didn't dare meet his eyes. She was still feeling out of sorts because of the position he had met her and her therapist in. "How was your first session?" He asked as he strapped his own belt and turned the key in the ignition. The engine roared to life just as Lia opened her mouth to talk. "It was okay. He was nice." She said and flushed even more. Why did I say he was nice? Fernando clenched his hands on the steering wheel as he reversed out of the hospital. He glared at the sign at the gate as the car neared i

"I think I want to go back and see Dr. Luca." Lia announced walking into the living room. They were all in Fernando's house. She had decided to move back in last night after careful thought. Her decision didn't involve trying to get back with Fernando, no she was just worried about him. Jane and Lydia had helped her with her stuff and Liam had driven them here. Adam was already at the house when they got there. Fernando of course was in the house as well. "Seriously?" Jane asked, looking up from her phone and Lia nodded. She took the seat beside Fernando and looked at her other friends. She shrugged. "I think it's the best thing to do." Lydia and Jane shared knowing looks and Lia rolled her eyes. She knew what they were thinking and she wasn't going to explain anything. Luca was her therapist and nothing more, it would simply be unprofessional."Well," Lydia started, clearing her throat. "I think it's a good idea. Don't you babe?" She tapped Adam's arm and he glared at her. Why

Raging Hormones
Fernando stopped pacing and slipped out his phone from his pocket. He sighed as he saw Adam's pictures on the screen and swiped his finger across the screen. "How's the session going? How come you're answering my call? I was thinking it will go to voicemail since you're in with the therapist." Adam didn't think Fernando should sit in when Lia was talking to the therapist but he'd never tell Fernando that. Fernando sighed again and pinched the bridge of his nose. He was pissed. "I got kicked out." He gritted his teeth and his grip on the phone tightened. There was a pause before Adam started speaking again. "That sucks man, do you need a pick up?" Fernando shook his head immediately. There was no way he was leaving Lia here with that guy who was calling her by her full name and smiling too much. He ran a hand through his hair trying to control his emotions. "I'm good thanks man. Lia needs a ride home and I'm okay, I promise." He wasn't. He felt like punching the therapist.Adam s

Square One
"Hey, how was your session?" Jane asked, smiling as she held the door open for Lia. Lia sighed and walked past her into the living room, tossing her bag on the couch. She slumped on another couch and closed her eyes, holding her head. That had been the longest ride of her life. Fernando had eventually listened to her and driven the rest of the way home in silence but she felt like he was just a volcano waiting to erupt. "Babe?" Jane called and closed the door, walking towards her. "What's wrong?" Lia shook her head and raised her head from her hands. "I can't deal with Fernando right now, it's just too much." She wasn't crying which was a good sign because Jane wanted to say somethings to her. "Look babe," she started softly not wanting to annoy Lia before she got to the heart of the matter. Lia raised her head and looked at her friend, frowning at the serious look in her eyes. What was she going to say? "Babe? Is everything okay?" Did that bastard try to call her again? Her ex

Healing
Lia rolled on her side and opened her eyes wishing she could sleep for the next hundred years. She straightened and sat up, resting her head against the pillow, her mind going over yesterday's events. Fernando had hit her but obviously it wasn't intentional and he had apologized immediately to prove it. He also agreed to therapy but she couldn't get her hopes up over that. He could change his mind this morning once the guilt from his actions wore off. She was pulled out of her thoughts by a knock on the door. Thinking it was Fernando, she closed her eyes immediately and slid down the bed pretending to be fast asleep. To further stir up the guilt he was feeling, she had told him she'd be sleeping in the guest room. Normally Fernando wouldn't have cared because he has been acting all shades of indifferent these past few weeks but after yesterday, his conscience was pricking him. "Hey babe." It wasn't Fernando. Lia opened her eyes immediately and leaned up, hugging her friend. "Ja

It's so plain. That's the first thought that crossed Lia's mind as they got to her mother's tombstone. They passed several tombstones on the way here that had looked much better and less gloomy. Yes, graveyards were supposed to be all gloom and deadly, literally but this was too…"It's too plain." Fernando whispered under his breath but she heard. She nodded in agreement, glad someone else was seeing what she was. The matron was gone and Jane was standing at the door to the graveyard. 'You guys need some time alone with her.' Had been her response when Fernando tried to persuade her to come with. Now she and Fernando were standing in the midst of all these tombstones alone. "I think we should write her name on it and get some flowers and probably lots of flowers," He repeated the flower part for emphasis, causing Lia to smile. Lia sniffed and started laughing causing Fernando to frown down at her in concern. "I'm fine," she said immediately knowing how he could be. "Are you sur

Something nice
"Your next appointment is here, sir." Dr Luca placed the phone back on the receiver and smiled, setting his table for their arrival. He rose to his feet as Fernando and Lia walked in, making Lia smile. 'He was such a gentleman.' Lia thought as she walked forward into the room, Fernando by her side. She was so grateful he had agreed to do this. It meant there was hope for them yet."Thanks for seeing us Luca, I really appreciate this." She said, stopping in front of his table. Fernando pulled out a chair for her and she sent him a grateful smile, sitting down. Fernando took the second chair and sat down, adjusting his t-shirt. Lia picked at an invisible lint on his shirt and he smirked, making her blush."Mr James, I believe I owe you an apology." Luca started and Fernando looked up at him, frowning. "I wasn't very polite the last time you were here." Fernando snorted and leaned forward, placing his hands on the table. "I think I should be the one apologizing," he sighed and Lia p
