Lahat ng Kabanata ng Owned by the Billionaire Mafia King: Kabanata 101 - Kabanata 110

Sara When I woke up with beams of sunlight spreading across our bedspread and my handsome husband still sleeping beside me, I felt such happiness. Looking at the man beside me, his face relaxed with a slight smile, I wanted to kiss him awake. But he’s been working so hard to keep us safe that I decided against it. If anyone deserved some rest it was my husband. I eased my way out of our bed quietly, planning on making him breakfast. Just a small way to thank him for what he did for me, for us. As I put on the coffee pot, I looked at the calendar posted on the refrigerator. The theme was bulldog puppies, and this month’s model looked exactly like King, which made me smile. Same little wrinkles, same coloring. Scanning for today’s date, I didn’t see anything listed for today. But I also realized something else. My period hadn’t come this month yet. According to my quick calculation, I was a week late. How could I not have noticed that? Taking out bacon and eggs, I tried to think

Sara I heard Jaxon come in, and I was looking forward to surprising him. I knew he was out all day for meetings, and I assumed that it had to do with work. It was a little strange that he hadn’t shared the details with me, but I wasn’t particularly concerned about it. My husband was a passionate man, and when he was focused he tended to forget about things like that. Since Jaxon was out, I decided to make his favorite lasagne for dinner. I’d even called his mother to get the recipe. We weren’t exactly the best of friends yet, but she was trying, and I was determined to do the same. We talked for a while, and she told me an adorable story of how when Jaxon was a kid he invited his imaginary friend to eat that lasagne with the family. His friend was named "Tony,” and apparently, "Tony" loved garlic bread. Whenever she made lasagne, she had to give Jaxon some extra garlic bread for his buddy or he refused to eat dinner. I was making garlic bread to go with tonight’s meal. I wante

Sara“You’ve been in here a long time. What are you doing?” I asked, leaning against the door frame. I knew exactly what he was doing. I wanted him to fill me in, and commit to his promise to share everything with me. Jaxon looked up at me and sighed. “I’m researching Antonio Marino. That’s the main man that Cynthia has been working with. Leon is looking into him right now. He’s very dangerous, a ruthless killer. I need to know everything about him and his organization if we are going to beat him.” “Tell me what you’ve learned,” I asked. I kept my eyes hard on Jaxon. He knew it wasn’t really a request. He took a deep breath again. “Not much yet. Mostly just names of people known to associate with him. There's not much to share right now.” I pursed my lips. I couldn’t tell if that was true or if he was trying to spare me the gory details of this awful man. I just nodded. “Well then, why don’t you give it a break and help me make some dinner?” I pushed off the door frame

SaraI didn’t really like the idea of going through someone’s personal information to gain the upper hand. Even if he was from a rival family. Even if he intended to do us harm, it just felt wrong to me, like an invasion of privacy or something. But I would do anything to protect my family. And this sure seemed to come under "anything". I reached out to Tori to see if her hacker buddy Teddy could find out something about Marino. She told me that even he was reluctant at first. The Marino crime family was no joke. Jaxon had to talk to Teddy personally to convince him to go along with it. I wasn’t there for the conversation, so I didn't know how my husband convinced him; I suspected that money had something to do with it. In any case, Teddy agreed to see what he could uncover. "I have news on that project you were asking about," Tori said over lunch at my house. "I don’t know what Jaxon said to Teddy to convince him to do this, and I don’t want to know. But there was a lot to fin

Sara It was official. Tori was going to go undercover for us in the Marino organization. In the end, I actually wasn’t surprised. Tori was brave, braver than people tended to give her credit for. It was my idea for us to have dinner together at the office before she packed up her things. The temporary plan was for her to work exclusively at Marino’s strip club, The Starry Nightclub, doing their books. It was too risky for her to be seen around our office building while doing surveillance for a rival family. If they figured it out, she would just say that she was a broke college student who needed two jobs to survive, but we hoped it didn't come to that. "Oh my, you got us Mabel’s. Thank you SO MUCH," Tori exclaimed delightedly, followed by a long sip of her chocolate shake. "I just don't know when I’m going to have the opportunity to eat there again!" Jaxon had insisted that she create a fictitious life to go along with her story. He didn’t want to make it too easy for the
