Sara I looked at the day’s flower arrangement and shivered–blood-red roses. I sighed and looked out the window. The view included the gardens in back, Antonio’s garage, and a large portion of the fence surrounding my prison. That fence was tall, and even though I was on the top floor I couldn’t see anything beyond it. I needed to get out of that place. I just had no idea how I was going to do it. As I thought about my lack of options, a distinctive knock at the door announced my captor’s arrival. "Good morning, beautiful," Antonio said, and opened the door without waiting for my response. He never did, the assumption was that he didn’t have to. The roses, the fence, and his unwelcome presence in my room filled me with dread. Antonio didn’t seem to notice, and he smiled his most charming smile when he crossed the room to where I stood. As he handed me a cup of coffee his hand brushed mine, and I didn’t think it was an accident. My heart sped up at the contact, but from fe

SaraThe house was chaotic and I felt my arm might snap under the pressure of being twisted and held. Jaxon was right there. Nothing felt more tortuous than seeing him, knowing he was there and not being able to reach him. I ran, just like Jaxon told me to, but got caught again by one of Marino's thugs.“Stop struggling, bitch! You’re not going anywhere!” screamed the man holding my arm. I pulled again and had enough freedom to stop pulling and let my elbow fly back into his nose. He finally let go and gripped his nose instead. “You fucking bitch!” I rubbed the sore spot on my arm and started to run but quickly fell face-first to the ground when something caught my foot. I looked back to see someone had tripped me. I screamed and tried to crawl away. He reached down and grabbed my ankle, pulling me back towards him. “Get the fuck off of me!” I screamed. I kept trying to kick, but with my stomach down it made little difference. The fight ahead of me continued and I strug

SaraJaxon held my hand and kept kissing my fingers all the way home. I felt better after his reassurances, but I was still worried. He hadn’t seen Antonio like I had. He hadn’t been so close to the operation. I didn’t know a lot about Jaxon’s syndicate but I heard enough from James to know we were in real trouble. I let Jaxon guide me upstairs and into our bedroom. He started hungrily taking my clothes off and kissing me everywhere. I wasn’t fully in the mindset, but I wasn’t about to stop him. He picked me up by my hips and pushed me up till I was wrapping my legs around his neck. He started in desperately as if he couldn’t get enough. The sensations in my body went wild, and it became easier to shut off my brain and think of nothing but Jaxon and his touch. The feeling was delicious and Jaxon always seemed to be filling some desperate need I didn’t know I had.Jaxon slowly lowered me onto the bed without disrupting the magnificent work his mouth was doing. I could feel my

SaraI sighed quietly and tried to get myself in the mind to get some work done. It had been a few days since Jaxon's last run-in with Antonio. The man had gone suspiciously quiet after his rampage in our city following my rescue. It left me feeling uneasy, but the reprieve was giving Jaxon and me time to come up with a plan and solidify our alliances going forward. It felt weird being back at the office, but I'd begged Jaxon to let me go. I was desperate to get back to some semblance of normality now that I was back home. The office was the last place that I would have ever imagined I'd pick as a safe place, but the house just felt like a prison at the moment. Jaxon hadn't really loved the idea, but I think he felt sympathetic. I'd been cooped up for so long and I just needed to have the illusion of freedom at least. While it hadn't worked out for me the last time I left the house, I felt fairly confident that Antonio was using this time to strategize. This was probably the

Sara"What are you up to?" Jaxon asked as he walked into the bedroom I was in. He turned and examined the magazine pages I had taped to the wall by the door with interest."I'm mapping out my new home office," I explained with a proud grin. After we'd resolved our fight from earlier on, I had decided to stay at home and work from there some days; there was no real reason for me to go to the office. My friend Tori wasn't even there. I hoped one day, she would be finished with her undercover work and could come back to our publishing company.I'd still been feeling inspired after flipping through the interior design magazines to start my day. It had just occurred to me that I could have my own dedicated workspace instead of moving around the house.I hadn't consulted Jaxon before making the decision, but then, I hadn't felt the need to. It was my house as much as it was his, although my confidence was fading now that he was actually here. Luckily, I hadn't actually done anyt
