Whatever time they ran last time, they cut it in half getting back to the campsite. All of the pack was hovering around as Peter and Andy had Matt on a medical stretcher, the pair rushing him into the med bay. "Alright, Lucille, Gary, tell me what happened. Everyone else, no crowding. Go back to what we were doing before. Andy will make sure Matt gets the best care possible so let's not stress him out, okay?" Logan was quick to take control, and, in a few minutes, the grounds had cleared out, going back to whatever they were doing. Jamie saw Valerie speed walking over to her but before she could ask for an explanation, her wrist was snagged and she was dragged all the way back to their cabin, the door being closed, Valerie whirling around with a wild look in her eyes. "That look does not spark joy." "I'm not really feeling joyful right now either." Valerie started to pace, obviously a ball of frazzled nerves. "Okay, okay so you know how I said I would keep an eye on Andy for you?"

It was do or die, but at this point, Jamie would really like to just die and get it over with. The cop shows made it look so easy. Criminal investigations, find the proof, bag and tag the bad guy, happily ever after. Except this was taking longer than a series special, their criminal dosed her with something that just might kill her, and Jamie wasn't exactly happy she was losing more sleep over the guy. Her and Valerie had waited till nightfall to sneak out of their cabin and into the woods, Valerie leading. A few twists and turns, a good mile or so out, and they were by a small creek with a large tree that had a spot near the base scraped out for a hidey hole. "I used to come out here, listen to the water, curl up and hide when everything got too tough. No one could hear me cry so…yeah," finished Valerie lamely. "Alright," said Jamie, not pointing anything out. "So how should we do this?" "Well, after you shift, you'll either turn back like Matt did or…" "Or what?" "Or you mig

Jamie didn't get her nap. It wasn't even an hour later that someone was knocking on the door, Valerie huffing as she threw on a sweater and answered it since Jamie didn't move from the bed. "Andy! What's up?" She did almost fall out of bed though from that. What was going on? "Oh, I came to get your permission to draw some blood from Jamie," smiled Andy. Valerie and Jamie felt their breath catch. Not good. "What for?" Valerie asked carefully. "For a blood donation. Jamie's the only one who's blood type fits, AB negative." "Blood donation for who?" asked Jamie, trying to sound like she was only curious and not freaking out. "Ballie Batson." Jamie's breath caught. Either Andy was more of an evil genius than she realized, or he really did need that blood. Ballie Baston, who's twin was Hallie Batson, the twins of the Central pack who were shoo ins for the future alpha, who Jamie KNEW shared her blood type. This was a lose lose situation no matter how it played out, and Jamie had

It only took Jamie a few days to get over the blood loss. It would take far more time for Valerie to get over her getting a date. "Girl, this is fantastic, but also like, what the hell? We haven't even captured Andy and—Ah! But I can't believe Logan asked you out!" she squealed. "Say it louder. The rest of the pack hasn't heard you yet," deadpanned Jamie. "Sorry, I'm happy for you, I am, but like…Andy," she grimaced, like it was a curse to speak his name. As if it was enough to understand and it was. "I know," groaned Jamie. "I shouldn't have done it and it'll probably bite me in the *ss later but…" "Ah, the trouble with being in love," sighed Valerie. "It makes you stupid." "Yeah, I feel a whole lot more than stupid right now," breathed Jamie, going to rub her eyes before Valerie smacked her hands down. "Don't you dare! It took me two hours to convince you into that make up. If you ruin it, I'll kill you." "Alright, geez, you're starting to sound like Sarah." "She sounds like

Jamie walked back into her cabin, Valerie waiting for her. She didn't say anything, just watched silently as Jamie picked up a pillow and screamed into it. "Oh-oh! That was not an angry distressed scream!" squealed Valerie. "We're dating," said Jamie, lifting her head only for a moment before going back to screaming in the pillow. Jamie was dating someone; she was DATING someone. Oh god, her father could never know. She was never interested in anyone before so there hadn't been a problem, but her father would try and intimidate Logan, give him the shovel talk and all that. Scratch that, he would try and fight Logan and Jamie was good, but her father was better. It was something she always envied. Jamie would like her boyfriend ALIVE though. "Yes! New relationship! You're getting red—oooh~! That means something!" cheered Valerie, almost more excited for this than Jamie was. "It means you're being embarrassing." Flush Jamie, looking away. "That just means something happened that y
