#Chapter 131 – Gavin’s Past
Gavin’s POVThe memory of Gavin’s childhood had always been foggy for him. But he knew that the Slayer organization had been after Gavin’s family for a long time. He didn’t grow up with a lot of money; he had to work for everything that he got. But his family had something that the Slayers always wanted, power. They were incredibly powerful beings not only because of his Alpha father but because Gavin’s parents had incredibly strong abilities. Gavin’s memory stemmed back from when he awoke in the middle of the night; he was only a small boy, but he remembered hearing the murmurs coming from his parent’s room. His mother sounded worried, and his father was trying to reassure her. Gavin slipped out of bed and made his way out of his room and to his parent’s room. He didn’t make himself known to them; instead, he pressed his ear against the door to listen to their conversation. “We can’t get ourselves involved with them. We have

#Chapter 132 – Back to work
Erin’s POV“I thought of that possibility too if I were to be honest…” Gavin admitted. This has been the first time in a long time that he’s been vulnerable to me. My heart ached knowing everything that he and his family had gone through during their lives. I never knew that he was self-conscious about himself during our relationship. I never knew he felt inadequate about us. I loved him very much during high school and I continued to love him every day afterwards. Long after we broke up, I thought of him daily. Not that he knew that. I could see the worry on his face when he spoke about his family; everything he had ever done was to protect them, and so far, it looks like it’s been doing the opposite. “If she wants us to break up publicly. Then, we will break up during the convention,” I told him, grabbing onto his hand. “We were planning on doing so anyways. I can make you look good, so you don’t lose any respect.”

#Chapter 133 – Don’t go to the convention.
Erin’s POVI stared at Henry with disbelief for a long while; he was being serious. “I don’t understand,” I finally said, narrowing my eyes at him. “This wasn’t even my idea, it was Theo’s. We don’t have a choice.” “We always have a choice, Erin. I don’t think it’s a good idea,” he said, shaking his head. “I’m putting my foot down and pulling you out of this.” “What has gotten into you, Henry?” I asked, folding my arms across my chest. “Where have you been?” “It doesn’t matter. But as your partner, I think this is a terrible idea. I don’t trust Gavin and I think he’s leading you right to the Killers and the Slayers. He’s doing it on purpose.”“You don’t know what you are talking about,” I said in return. “Gavin would never betray me.”“His entire family is being blackmailed and I have reason to believe that it’s connected to the Slayers. They aren’t going to rest until you are killed. They won’t leave their family alone until yo

#Chapter 134 – Gretta’s Boutique
Gavin’s POVThey knew where Jill was. This was the blackmailer’s way of threatening him once again. Why the hell were they doing this? What more did they want? As far as they knew, he was planning on breaking things off with Erin during the convention. That was the blackmailer’s recent and only request. So, why the added threat? Gavin knew that he couldn’t keep Jill there knowing that she was being watched by the blackmailer and her followers. However, he wasn’t sure where he could hide her without the blackmailer knowing about it. It seems regardless of what he does and where he hides his family, she always finds them. They weren’t going to be safe. He stared down at the paper he’s kept of all the possible members of the Moonshadow organization. Gavin had crossed Erin’s name off because she would have told him by now if she was a member of this organization. He gave her e

#Chapter 135 – Feeling sick
Erin’s POV“Miss Erin! Are you okay?” Anna asked, knocking on the outside door. I was feeling fine, and this came out of nowhere. Oh goddess, don’t tell me I’m getting sick right before the Alpha Convention. This couldn’t possibly be happening to me right now. I held onto my stomach as I vomited again into the toilet; I couldn’t answer her right now. I stared at my gorgeous gown that hung on the back of the bathroom door and I felt a sense of dread. If I got sick in that dress, I could kiss this convention goodbye. Gavin would be so upset with me. This convention meant everything to him, and I couldn’t let him down right now. Not like this. “Miss Erin?” Anna asked again with another knock. “What’s going on?” I flushed the toilet and grabbed a towel off the counter; I wiped my mouth just before pulling myself to my feet and opening the door. Anna stared at me for a short while, exam

#Chapter 136 – Alpha Convention
Gavin’s POVGavin saw the blackmailer and his entire body had gone numb. Erin sensed something was wrong because she kept asking if he was okay. But he could barely speak.  He wasn’t afraid of her, more like assessing what she was doing and what her game plan was. He stared at the redheaded masked woman from across the room; she was talking to a couple of different gentlemen. Placing her hand on their arms and laughing at whatever they said. They had no idea the kind of dangerous woman they were dealing with. It was unclear if she had noticed him yet, but he was hoping she hadn’t. He couldn’t be too focused on her because he needed to gain the respect of other Alphas and the shareholders around the kingdom. “Alpha Gavin,” a voice sounded walking through the crowd of people, bringing Gavin to the present moment. It was Alpha Peter or the Redmoon pack; another fierce competitor who already has so much

#Chapter 137 – Calling for backup.
Erin’s POVMy heart was pounding violently against my chest as I stared around at all the people clapping and cheering.  I had no idea where that speech had come from, only that it felt right to say. Talking about Gavin and me having children one day brought warmth to my body and pleased my wolf. I placed my hands on my stomach and frowned; what was this incredible feeling I was having? Gavin was looking in the distance and I could see the worry on his face, even when nobody else could. I knew exactly who he was looking for it; his blackmailer was still there, and she was taunting him. I felt furious that I couldn’t be more helpful to him at that moment; she was ruining a moment that was supposed to be incredible. This convention was a huge deal to Gavin, and it was being destroyed by this woman. I turned away and grabbed my phone; there had been no messages or calls from Henry, but I saw that Theo tried to reach me a few times t

#Chapter 138 – Blackmailer revealed
Erin’s POVGavin and his blackmailer were both gone. I couldn’t believe that he actually left. I not only felt disappointed, but I was also a little hurt by this. I shook the thought out of my head and jumped into action. The last thing I heard her saying to him was her trying to convince him to go with her to his hotel suite. I’m assuming it was the same suite I went to when Gavin first came back into my life. The thought of him taking her there left an unsettled feeling in the pit of my stomach. “The results will be in shortly,” the announcer’s voice boomed throughout the convention. Everyone was turning their attention to the front stage to prepare for the announcement of the new rankings of the Alphas. I wasn’t going to be able to stick around to see where Gavin’s new ranking was. I had to get to that hotel. Thankfully, the hotel wasn’t too far away from the convention, so it didn’t take me long

#Chapter 139 – Gavin learns the truth
Erin’s POVI was staring at my best friend Jessie in the face, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. They must have been playing tricks on me. I was overly exhausted, and I wasn’t fully feeling well; maybe this sickness was making me delusional. But the look on Gavin’s face said otherwise. I could tell he was just as shocked as I was. Jessie was alive and she was standing right in front of us with an evil glimmer in her icy eyes. She gave me a smile that sent a chill down my spine. “How… how are you here…?” I asked in a hoarse whisper. “I didn’t die,” she said, narrowing her eyes at me. “I lied. I only pretended that I was dead…” “You’re the leader of the Slayer organization?” Gavin asked, staring at her in disbelief. I was at a loss for words; my entire body felt numb, and my brain was hollow. I couldn’t think straight, and I wasn’t even sure if I was standing on my feet. “I am,” she confirmed, looking between th

#Chapter 140 – The betrayal
Erin’s POVHow could I have been this stupid? I let her distract me for so long that I didn’t even think that those at the convention could be in danger. The convention was filled with incredibly rich and powerful wolves; not to mention more wolves with abilities. It was the perfect place for the Slayers to raid and that’s exactly what they were doing at that moment while I was having an argument with Gavin in a hotel room. We had to stop the argument to get back to that convention and I knew he understood that as well. Jessie was long gone by the time we got outside. We shifted into our wolf forms and went straight to the convention. I could already hear the screaming and the howling of the wolves as the vampires began raiding the place. My heart was pounding wildly against my chest once we neared the entrance. “Now would be a great time to tell me that the rest of the organization is going to be here to help,” Gavi
