Chapter 1: Vampire and Werewolf

I just woke up one day with a handsome vampire by my side, offering me a contract marriage.I knew it was like being courted by the devil, yet like a foolish lamb who laid herself on the sacrificial table, I reached for his hand, not knowing that it would consume my reckless heart.******Carter left me. The man who promised to love me till the end left without a proper explanation. Coming here to Lynnwood to live with my mom was what I thought the best for me. I thought I could finally have the peaceful life I wanted. Turns out I just made my life messier than I had imagined. I fell in love with a vampire, got involved with his entire family, and even discovered that my childhood friend, Jaxon, is a werewolf.I’m standing right now in front of Carter’s family house, wondering what sin I committed to be punished like this. Jaxon accompanied me out of worry."What is it?” I asked when he suddenly stood before me in a defensive stance like there was some sort of enemy approaching."Some

Chapter 2: Stopping Heartbeat

Jaxon was suddenly looking my way, while the woman was in front of him, crossing her arms proudly with a venomous smile plastered on her face. My heart pounded so fast. It terrified me."What now, hybrid? The human is in my hands already. At this point, I think you can do nothing."Jaxon growled and he was on the verge of tearing the woman's head when she spoke viciously."Go on. One wrong move and you will see the head of the girl falling to the ground."That stopped Jaxon. It got me more terrified. I wasn’t afraid that I would get hurt, or worse, die in the hands of this unknown vampire, but I was more afraid that the woman might use me to stop Jaxon from fighting. In that case, Jaxon would surely choose to stop resisting and would end up being beaten up by the woman, or worse, end up being killed. And that can't happen. I already lost Carter. I can't lose Jaxon or anyone close to me."What do you want from me?" I managed to ask even though my voice was trembling."I want you dead,"

Chapter 3: Newborn Vampire

My head was aching badly when I opened my eyes. I knew at once that I was in a grand unfamiliar room I had never visited before.Sure, it was a good place to sleep in, but where was this place exactly? As I rose slowly into a sitting position, the double doors of the room opened. A man in an all-black attire went in. He was wearing a black turtleneck, black slacks, and a black overcoat. One look and I knew he was close to my age. A few years older than me at least. He was tall and lean and his chest was broad. He looked strong. My gaze then climbed to his face and found a pair of brooding raven eyes. His features were marked with hardness, especially his angular jaw which brought enough manliness that his face needed. His nose was high-bridged, lips thin and pale red, and skin was pale but seemed to be glowing. He was… dazzling. Too perfect for a human that I doubt if he was."Who are you?" I asked, but then I turned still, surprised that my voice sounded a little strange. It came nat

Chapter 4: Landon Arthurs

What did he say? Did I hear him right? As if he was able to read the question in my face, he said, "You heard me right, Eve. Your mother, Doris Walters, and your father, George Delluci, are dead. It was reported as murder and still under investigation, but I'm sure it was Vienna's doings.""No…" I shook my head. "That's not true! That is… impossible!""If you are still not convinced, see it for yourself," he said flatly as he pointed to the bedside table with a nod.I turned to the table and saw what he was pointing out. I moved once, very swiftly, that it barely took a fraction of a second. It was newspapers. One was from Lynnwood, the other was from Dad's city.I froze when I saw the headlines of both newspapers. I felt something within me, something like scorching. I could feel the venom at the tip of my teeth, and the urge to destroy everything.I stood and the next second, I was already at the door but the man was then beside me, stopping me from going out."Where are you going?"

Chapter 5: Marriage Proposal

"What are you talking about?" I asked Landon, my voice low but firm.I was about to turn and face him when he went in front of me himself. He towered over me, his eyes were dark and vicious looking straight into mine as if he wanted to look into my soul through them. I don't mind if he could. I don't care about anything else now. All I want is vengeance and I'm willing to do whatever it takes just to have that."You heard me right, Eve. You have had vampire blood in you ever since you were born.""How is that possible? My parents, I was sure they were humans and they haven't mentioned anything unnatural… and I never felt strange before.""You are not a pure-blooded vampire, only a fraction of your blood contains vampire blood. That's why you managed to live for all those years like a normal human being. But the truth is, it was only suppressed and waiting to be activated. And it happened when Vienna's subordinate bit you. It was the vampire's venom that awakened the vampire blood in y
