Kaylar also retired for the night. She felt fatigued and needed a good rest. It wasn't an easy fit being married to her boss. She continuously chided herself to remember that the marriage would end someday. She slipped under the duvet and turned off the bedside lamp. Her eyelids became heavy and she slowly drifted to sleep. In the far hours of the night. 'What are you doing Wayne?' Wayne stood at the door as he questioned himself. Currently, he was inside Kaylar's room and was contemplating whether he should join her on the bed or not. He repeatedly questioned his actions which were out of his personality and it only happened when Kaylar was around. After weighing the pros and cons he carefully slipped under the duvet and lay down, maintaining a safe distance from Kaylar. He could just wake up before Kaylar does and leave the room quietly then she wouldn't know he slept in her room, those were Wayne's thought. As time passed Wayne couldn't help but slowly inch closer and close

They finished their lunch and Kaylar discarded the paper bags and food box before leaving the office to continue her work. … "Miss Harper" The butler of the Frenando family greeted Asherly as she stormed into the mansion. After leaving Wayne's company Asherly felt aggrieved so she decided to visit Wayne's mom. The butler led her to the garden where Madam Olivia was. She usually had her painting sessions at that time of the day. "Auntie" Asherly threw herself into Olivia's arms upon sighting her. Olivia was taken aback as she placed the paintbrush on a surface before lifting Asherly's face. She was shocked to see streaks of tears rolling down Asherly's face. "Dear, why are you tearing up?" Olivia sat on a chair and pulled Asherly with her. Asherly leaned her head on Olivia's shoulders as she cried. "What happened?" Olivia asked worriedly. "Auntie…" Asherly started then trailed off. She bit her lips as she tried to control her tears "He has really changed" Wayne's attitude to

Kaylar tucked a loose curl behind her ear as she avoided Wayne's piercing gaze. "Was there any need to tell you?" "Yes," Wanye inched closer to her. "Yeah right, You were so caught up in your precious emotions earlier why would I bother you with such a trivial matter?" Kaylar retorted. Wanye raised his brow in question as he reached Kaylar. The distance between them was about an inch or less. He swiftly placed his hands on her waist and hoisted her atop the desk. This stunned Kaylar for a moment as she was slow to react. "What are you doing?!" "Let me see'' Wanye didn't respond, he squatted down to the level of her feet and gently placed her feet on his thighs as he examined her ankle. A pink tinge worked its way towards Kaylar's face. Kaylar's ankle was swollen and had a bruise on the surface. Wayne gently pressed on the tender flesh and Kaylar flinched in pain. "Let go of my feet!" She struggled. Wanye gently placed her feet on the ground. "How did this happen?" "..."

Kaylar's eyes were fixed on Wayne as he made his way towards her side. He placed the tray he was holding on the nightstand. Kaylar couldn't help but let her eyes roam on Wayne. He was wearing a white T-shirt with grey sweatpants. He looked really sexy. "How are you feeling?" Wayne's deep voice sounded. Kaylar shook her head to drive her silly thoughts away. "Much better" She replied in a gentle tone. Wayne pulled a chair from the side and sat down. His hand naturally went to Kaylar's ankle to feel the bandage on it. "You'll have to rest for a few days, that means you won't come to the company for a week," He said as he retracted his hand. Kaylar nodded her head in understanding, it was expected. "I brought dinner for you," Wayne said as he poured soup into a bowl. "..." She thought the head maid would be the one taking care of her needs. She didn't expect it to be Wayne. Lord in heaven! Kaylar was startled when Wayne raised her back and placed pillows behind her back to su

… Inside Wayne's office. Wayne sat on his swivel chair behind his desk and motioned for Susan and Karen to take a seat in front of his desk. The temperature in the room dropped by a thousand degrees as he stared at them with a cold expression. "Care to explain what I overheard during the meeting?" Wayne asked sharply. His eyes watched their every expression as they sank into their seats. Karen and Susan exchanged glances, their earlier gossip suddenly feeling much less harmless. They both knew they had messed up and now had to face the consequences. "CEO Wayne I don't know what you talking about aside from the proposal from my team presented I didn't say a thing" Karen said in her defence. Wayne continued his voice firm but controlled. "Karen you've worked here long enough to know that gossip is toxic and undermines the harmony of this workplace." He looked at the both of them "As senior staff members I expect better from you both.
