Amber PovIt's almost eight o'clock in the evening but I'm still not dressed. I just lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling. If I had to choose, I really don't want to attend the dinner party organized by Phil for our department. I don't want to see him anymore because the hurt he did to my feelings was still fresh in my heart and mind. But who would have thought that he would be our new boss? The saying "small world" is really true because Phil and I crossed paths again.I was still staring at the ceiling when the door to my room opened and Mildy entered. Like me, she still hasn't changed her clothes."What are you doing, Amber? Why aren't you dressed yet? Are you waiting for hundreds of lizards to pass by on the ceiling?" she immediately asked and sat next to me. "Are we going or not?"I just stared at the ceiling for a few moments before I took a deep breath."Okay. I'm going to get dressed so get dressed too," I told her. I got up and went to the cabinet to get some clothes to

Amber PovBefore I could answer Melvin, I was preceded by Phil's voice from behind me. When I looked at him, I saw that his face was serious and his eyes were narrowed while looking at me. "Do you need anything from Amber, Sir Salvatore? Why don't you just tell her now?" Melvin asked Phil with a serious face. It seemed that he didn't like that Phil will take me home and he had no intention of letting me go with our boss even though he had no right to me.If Melvin didn't seem to like the idea that I will go with our boss, Phil also seems to hate the idea that I will go with Melvin. For sure, he hates that idea not because he is jealous but because he doesn't want to lose his employee. But they didn't know that I don't want to go with any one of them. "Yes, you're right...uuhmm..."Phil stopped speaking and furrowed his forehead as if wondering what was the name of the employee in front of him. "Melvin Sanchez, Sir," Melvin immediately mentioned his full name when he saw that Phi

Amber PovAfter Mildy arrived at her apartment, she immediately went straight to my room to find out what happened to my conversation with Phil. "Tell me what you and Phil talked about, Amber. Don't keep it a secret from me or else I will get mad at you," said Mildy after I opened the door for her then I got back on top of my bed. She followed me and sat on the edge of the bed. She was looking at me excitedly and waiting for what I would tell her. "You haven't even changed your clothes before you came and want to hear gossip," I said to her shaking my head. "That matter can wait but not my curiosity about what you talked about with Phil. Did he explain what you saw in his house? Did he also ask you for an explanation as to why you lived in Nikky's condo before ?" Mildy asked one after the other. It looks like she won't stop asking me until I tell her what Phil and I talked about earlier. But what did we talk about? Except that he got mad at me because I didn't tell him that I don

Amber Pov "I'm sorry, Amber. I can't go home with you now. My Mom called me earlier. She wants me to accompany her to the birthday party of one of her friends. I can't refuse her so even if I don't want to go with her to that party I have no choice but to attend or else he will sulk for a long time," Mildy apologized to me as she fixed herself in front of the big mirror inside the ladies' room of the mall while I am removing my makeup. I only have eyebrows and lipstick left on my face. We both just got off from work. Both our duty is from 10 am to 6 pm so we always leave and go home to her apartment together. When I have time, I take off my makeup at the mall, so when I get to the apartment, I just need to wash my face and rest early. "It's okay, Mildy. Your parents are old, so you should spend more time with them while they're still alive, while you still have time and chances to do it. So that when God takes them, you won't, you won't regret not being with them for a long time,"

Amber PovLooks like I'm unlucky tonight. I've been waiting for a bus to the board but all the buses that pass by didn't stop because they were all full of passengers. I can see the passengers standing in the middle of the bus crowded because there is no place for them to sit. When I insist on riding even though they are crowded, I will definitely be touched by pervert men even more especially I am wearing a short skirt which is our uniform, and a sleeveless shirt on top.Since I had been waiting for the bus for more than an hour, I decided to walk towards and look for a jeepney that was passing by in the street that goes to Mildy's apartment. I'll just get off at the corner and ride a tricycle going to Mildy's apartment. I'd rather take a cutting trip than wait to catch a bus.I was really unlucky because it suddenly started to rain heavily. I was going to run towards the waiting shed but when I saw that it was already filled with people taking shelter I decided to just pass by them.
