Pain And Laughter

Arthur's POVMy eyes were fixed on Iris, who was sitting in front of me with her head lowered. She was really shy, and it was evident from the redness on her cheek.“Iris, I want to ask you many questions, but I don't know where to start from.” She didn't reply to my words, her eyes still not meeting my gaze.“Do you know anything about your father besides his name?” My eyebrows were raised as I watched her sit in front of me.“Tell me about your father, his friends, the way he rules, anything you can tell me about him,” I spoke patiently, my eyes watching her keenly, but even the expression on her face showed that she knew nothing about it.“Tell me about your family, tell me about everything, I want to know.” I seriously wanted to know about her, her past and everything that has happened to her. I wanted to know why she was abandoned. Did she do anything wrong to deserve such a treatment?“Iris?” He called, and her head turned towards him with an obviously forced smile on her face

Accused

Iris' POVI stood in the office with a smile, recalling how my life had taken a major turn of love. For the first time in my life, I was treated specially, with love and with care.To stop myself from thinking about the things that happened between Arthur and I, my eyes darted to the office and I began to take note of everything there. The office was a simple design, yet it looked so beautiful and dazzling. The decorations in the office made it look very homely. The floor was tiled with a brown colored tile, which matched with the brown tables and chairs in the office.“This is nice.” I said, moving around the office as I gazed at the artificial rose flowers and the paintings on the wall, which looked simple.“Hmm,” I sighed, watching the office in boredom. It seems like my only source of happiness was thinking about Arthur. He is my joy giver in my life at this moment.Speaking about drama, Someone barged into the office and began to mention some set of jewelry that had been stolen.

Saviour

Iris' POVI watched how Arthur was quiet for a while, his presence, making the atmosphere quiet, finally my saviour had arrived.“What the hell is going on here?” Arthur asked, his brows forming a 'W' as he moved towards where I stood.I was terrified, shaking out of fright. This something I never wanted to pass through again. My palm was wet with sweat, and so was my forehead. I was feeling so nervous and even when I tried to contain it, the thudding sound of my heartbeat that played in my eardrums wouldn't let me.“Didn't I ask a question, what's going on?!” He roared, his voice causing everyone to flinch as murmurings spread across the room.Everyone was afraid to speak, and it showed in the way they were trying to get someone to speak up.“Speak! What the fuck was going on? Have you all suddenly gone deaf, or would you rather lose your Jobs?!” He was calm, but the way he spoke instilled fear in them and I could see them shaking just the way I was before.“You, you were the one bl

Revealed

Iris' POVThe next day, I walked into my workplace with a double mind. I was so scared about what happened yesterday and hoped that everything had died down. Unfortunately for her, they were still mumbling about yesterday's happenings from the mouths of the people. However, what they were saying seemed to be different.“I never knew she could be that heartless!” A girl spoke but kept quiet when I came towards her.“What's going on? Was the jewelry found?” My eyes waited for answers as they stared into the girl's soul.“Ma'am, I'm deeply sorry about yesterday, I apologize with everything I have in me. I didn't mean to join the group who accused you falsely.” My gaze became serious, and my lips pressed into a thin line which was later released with a sigh. I had thought I would spend the rest of my life in jail for a crime that I didn't commit.“It's fine. I just wanted to know if the jewelry was found. I'm afraid that the blame might still fall on me because I was the only one in tha

Shopping Spree

Iris' POVI walked by Anna's side when we left the office. My mind, thinking about everything I had gone through. I was thankful because I was let off the hook, but that meant I couldn't trust anyone in the office.“Why are you lost in thoughts?” Anna's voice spoke while we moved outside the office.“Nothing important, just shocked about everything that's going on.”“Why? It's normal to face problems in life, don't you think?” She asked and I nodded. It was the truth. It is normal to face problems in life, and yesterday was just one of the many problems I had encountered.“The driver would take us there,” she said, picking up her phone to call the driver.“Hello, yeah, we are in the parking lot, where are you?” She asked with a neutral face.“I took the car to the fuel station, I'm almost back, ma'am,” the driver responded before she hung up the call.“I guess we have to wait for him.” She sighed, gazing at me with a sad face.“Hey, there's no need to worry. He said he's nearby, didn

Not Drunk, Just Sleepy

Iris POVThe day came faster than I expected. My eyes opened and I was surprised to see that the sun was already up.I gasped, jerking out of the bed and rushing to the bathroom. I didn't know I would sleep this long. I was tired from the activities and so I didn't realise I would sleep for this long.I moved to the bathroom, taking care of my teeth before hitting the shower. The shower trailed down my body, relieving me of the tension I woke up with. After showering, I wrapped the towel around my waist before moving to take care of my skin. I applied the necessary creams. After which I picked up a simple outfit to wear. It was the weekend and since I wouldn't be going to the office today, I might as well take the time to relax my mind. After putting on my top and jeans, I made my way out of the room to have breakfast but it seemed like I missed it because I overslept."It seems you were tired," Arthur said from behind me when I sat on the dining table."Yeah I was but why didn't you

I Love You Arthur.

Arthur's POV.I stood up, watching her as she held my arm, not wanting me to leave the room.“Iris, not now, please…” I trailed off, trying to free myself from her hands.“Wait, I have something important to tell you, even when I don't know what you'll feel about it.” “We'll talk about it tomorrow. For now, you need to rest.” I moved her towards the bed, but she didn't let go of my hands.“Listen to me, please…” she was overly playful because she was drunk.“Iris, you need to–” She placed her index finger on my lips to stop me from talking to her.“Iris, what are you doing?” I moved back, watching how she acted in front of me.“Listen to me and I promise not to bother you ever again,” she did her best to convince me.I sighed, massaging my temples with my fingers as I watched her with tired eyes.“You're being a stubborn girl, you need to rest. You've been out partying.” “I'm fine, just listen to what I have to say, you're being too stubborn and that is what I won't take,” I sounde

Let’s Party

Iris' POV.Weekdays quickly arrived again and since it was a new week, I had to kick off on the project we didn't complete last week. The endorsement program was still on, and just like before, I had gotten nice clothes, shoes, and jewelry to model in.Happiness flooded my heart because I was feeling important with the work I did.The last endorsement that was shot last week had already been aired on TV, and now, I felt like a star.“Give us a bad girl pose,” the camera man said while taking a picture of me with the camera in his arms.“Yeah, now show me you're determined!” He yelled. “Move around,” he said again, and so much more. She enjoyed the job she was given.“Okay, go change and get a little touch up, then you can return again for more shots.” “Thank you,” I replied, rushing to the changing room, where I quickly changed into other clothes.“Hello baby girl” Anna said, rushing into the room before I could step out.“Hi, I have to go. The camera man must be wishing for me.” “

Don’t Tell Me What To Do

Arthur's POVThe ride to the club was silent, and the only person who seemed to be excited was Anna, who couldn't help but talk about the party. I didn't blame her, though, she used any opportunity she had to rest to give herself time to recover from the work stress.“You don't seem excited, what's the matter?” She asked Iris, who was quiet even while she spoke.“It's nothing, I just haven't been to such kind of work celebrations before, what is it like?” She lied. I knew the reason was because she didn't want to be at the party.“Okay, it's normally fun. You get to see those who don't know how to take alcohol. You see then, for the real them, that's what I mean.” She giggled after her words.“Okay,” that was her reply to my sister's words before resting her back on the chair. She had been uncomfortable. However, I didn't regret bringing her here. After about an hour, we got to the club which was solely booked for us. The driver opened the door, so the ladies could get out of the ca

Drunk

Arthur's POV.She was really stubborn, and after I ordered everyone to leave the club, she still didn't want to leave the club, so I was forced to pull her out of the club.“Let's go home!” I screamed, pulling her as the eyes of some employees who were still getting their stuff glued to us.“What are you looking at!” I screamed for them to mind their business, my eyes glaring at them while I tried to pull her away.“You're just being a jerk!” I would have picked her on my shoulders, but I didn't want to grab too much attention to her.I was really mad at Anna. She knew Iris didn't like alcohol, yet she still permitted her to have a drink.“Arthur, stop being such a dickhead, you're a party pooper and…” She tried off when I grabbed her hand and began to pull her out of the club.“Stop, let me go!” She struggles under my hold. Her eyes, glaring bullets at me.“You have no right to hold me this way, you're hurting me!” She screamed, still struggling.I was finally able to drag her out of
