Lahat ng Kabanata ng 8 Seconds - The Cowgirl and the Doctor: Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

GaelFor a moment, we both just stared at the view.“And you don't have anyone waiting for you in Miami?”Her question surprises me, and since she was open in telling me her story, I decide to do the same.“I don't, it's hard to find a partner who understands the medical routine, who accepts that my cell phone can ring at any time, and I have to run out to answer an emergency, even during a romantic date.”That's how it was with Lays, we dated for five months, in the beginning everything was great, she did wonders when we were between four walls, but just good sex is not enough to keep a relationship. She complained directly because I canceled our dates, she did not accept that I left her alone to see my patients, she demanded a lot of attention, in addition to jealousy and accusing me of having an affair with my boss Loriany, which was never true, since Loriany was married when we met and I never disrespected her marriage, between us there was always only friendship.I remember the s

GaelFires pop around the entire field indicating that the event is about to begin, I see the owner of the bull entering the arena and going to the stage.“With you, Richard Rivera, from the rodeo company Revenge.” A voice speaks over the stadium's sound system.“Very appropriate.” Rayka grumbles.“Good evening everyone and welcome to this magnificent event.” Richard begins to speak. “In our life, 8 seconds may mean nothing, but for a cowboy, 8 seconds on the back of a bull is like an eternity, it takes only 8 seconds for a cowboy to be considered a hero, in 8 seconds one will be defined the best. To face those 8 seconds takes an insane courage, a fearless bravery that few men have in this world. With you Sovereign.”The bull is released into the arena, although I saw him yesterday and do not understand much of this business, I still marvel at the beauty of the animal, all black and only the white horns that stand out in his figure. I feel Rayka raise her body and turn to look at her,

GaelI watch Rayka bend down and caress the bull's neck and seems to be saying something, I just don't know if it's with the bull or with the pawn who is helping her.Rayka raises her head and I see that her face is serious, she must be focused on what she will do soon, she adjusts her hat, pulling the tie to keep it on her head during the ride. The pedestrian hands her a glove which she puts on her left hand and helps tie, then offers a rope which she uses to rub the palm of the glove. Rayka then jumps over the bar and climbs on the bull to start fixing the rope.“This girl is not only crazy, but stupid.” Allan exclaims. My cousin took the night off today to be an asshole, that's the only explanation.“Don't call her that.” I say between breaths.“And what should I call her? In addition to wanting to be a cowgirl, you will ride without the protective vest.” Allan says.I look at the screen and in fact Rayka is just wearing the clothes she was already wearing; she is not wearing a ves

RaykaThe boy who helped me prepare for riding comes to me and gives me back my bag that I had left with him, I take it and put it on my shoulder, but I leave the envelope with the check in the jacket pocket, if someone tries to steal the prize, the bag will be more targeted and easier to take than the jacket.I see the group coming to me, Ness is the first to hug and congratulate me, followed by the other girls.“That's it pitbull, you showed him who's daddy's little princess.”Of course, Bryan wouldn't stop teasing me, but two can play this game.“You're right doll.” I laugh and Bryan rolls his eyes, that will always be my weapon against him.I move away from Bryan and look at Gael, who comes to me and hugs me.“You were amazing.” He says. His hand goes to my neck and wraps his fingers in my hair, I lift my face more so as to shorten the distance between our mouths soon. Unlike in the tower, this time he kisses me more intensely, exploring my mouth with his tongue, his hand that is

RaykaI feel sad that my mother hates me, and I only hope that my father is at least proud of me.“Rayka, my princess.” My father speaks in a low tone, and I hold the cell phone close to my ear. “You shouldn't have risked yourself like that, and I know you know that what you did was very irresponsible.”Of course, I know, I just didn't expect you to be upset about what I did.“I do know that.”“Princess I know that tone of voice and you shouldn't even think I am mad, how could I be if you did what you did just to defend me, defend the PBR, which was a dream that I realized with so much joy. But the PBR is not the legacy that matters to me, you are my princess who is, I am proud of your attitude, because today on that stage I saw the girl I raised with so much love acting with determination, defending what she believes and teaching what really matters without at any time needing to offend her opponent, you became the woman I knew you would become and that is what really matters to me,
