21 - Angela's Parents

We got back to the United States and never talked about what happened in Hong Kong. I didn't ask Javier or anything else, he didn't open up about it either so I let it go.We arrived at the mansion with food ready on the dining table. I didn't know what was there so I turned to Javier with surprise. "What's up? Why is there food prepared? Do you have a visitor?” I asked him.He gave our suitcase to the helpers before answering me. "Yes, they will come later," he answered. He came to me, which I was wondering about. "Why?" I asked him. He smiled."I just want to apologize for what happened in Hong Kong. From what my friends had done and said, I didn't expect it to happen like that."I just said that I don't want to talk about it either but I didn't expect him to open the topic about what happened in Hong Kong."It's okay, I'll forget that too. Maybe I need to get used to the reaction people will have every time they see me." I smiled at him, not letting it be known that I wasn't really

Chapter 22 - Gunshot

I was just at the mansion and Javier was going out to work. A week has passed since we returned home from Hong Kong. A lot happened from our wedding day to our honeymoon day. I still haven't talked to my family so that's my plan for today. Javier told me that if I was going somewhere, I would just let my driver who he provided for me to accompany me."Are you coming?" I asked Sandy who was dressed. She nodded and smiled."Yes ma'am. That's Sir Javier's order that I will accompany you if you’re going somewhere."I frowned at what she said. There's no need to accompany me because I'm just going to visit my family. "I'm sorry, Sandy. But it's okay if you don't accompany me. I can handle myself, and I am sure nothing will happen to me. I assure you that andI will just go to my family," I explained to her with a smile. She also smiled at me and shook her head. "I know that, Ma’am. But Sir Javier ordered us to go with you. And he also thought that you might be going somewhere else. I'm not

23 - I Am You

I slowly stop myself from hugging Javier. I looked at him with confusion on my face. "What's happening?" That was the first thing that came out of my mouth. I also slowly looked around and the people who were standing earlier were still there."I'll explain inside, let's go." Javier took my hand and let me go inside where we were.Even though I was curious, I followed him. The people had separated as if they had gone back to what they were doing and it was as if nothing had happened.Javier made me sit on the sofa, facing the desk that was similar to the one in his office at home. "This is my office. Here, drink water.” He handed me a glass of water. I took it and drank it, I could still feel the tremors in my body because of what happened so I felt Javier sit next to me and hold my hand."I'm sorry..." that's what came out of his mouth that confused me, I just looked at him seriously. "I'm sorry if you experience this tonight.""What do you mean you're sorry? Do you know why this ha

Chapter 24

I can't move from where I'm standing, the earlier rapid heartbeat of my chest is even faster now. The fear that I feel now, I can’t understand as if this is my last day.Is this really what I see? Is she Angela? And what? Am I her twin sister? So, I'm not a real child of my parents? But how? How did I end up with my family now and get away from my real family?"I do not know what you're saying. Let me go.” I stammered.I tried to distance myself from her but I had nowhere to go, the door was locked. She brought her face even closer to me."I know you know what I'm talking about, Janiyah…hmm, you probably think I'm really dead like the idiots around you, right?"I didn't answer what she said. Yes, she's already dead. That's what Javier and other people around me said but what do I see now?“I don't know what you need from me but you can't get anything from me—”"I know you are useless but we will still find a way to make you useful. Don't worry, I won't kill you right now. I just want

Chapter 25 - Apologize

In a car I was riding with Angela, Periyah and the two men next to me. Periyah was driving while Angela was sitting in front. I couldn't lose my evil look at the two of them in front, Periyah were smirking at me.Does Liam know what kind of person his friend is? Suddenly, the reason why he didn't introduce Periyah to us before came to my mind because her behavior was not good but it was impossible if my brother knew about it. I also can't handle it if he does wrong too. He better not doing illegal things. I can't help but think about such things and suspect the people around me."Why are you quite, Janiyah?" Angela said with a smirk on her face, she turned to me. I just looked at her seriously and didn't answer. "Don't think that you can escape from us now, we will take you in your place, can't you see it? You should appreciate our kindness," she added."I don't need your kindness if you have something in return from me. We can just talk another thing—”"And we already talked about t

26 - Eat Together

He didn't answer right away, he just looked at me in shock and seemed to wonder what I meant. I smiled at him and took a bite of food. "I'm just kidding, Javier. I just thought that in order to acquaint myself with your life, I had to get to know the whole of you," I explained, which became my excuse. He drank some water before answering me. "I'm sorry, I was just shocked by what you said because I didn't expect that you would request it."Even I, I didn't expect to be able to return to you right away just because Angela wanted. I want to tell him that Angela is alive and Angela's evil plan but I can't do that because my family will also be harmed.I was about to say something when he spoke. "Well I guess you're right, I'll take you there and introduce you to them as my wife." My eyes widened in shock because of what he said.Is he serious? Will he agree to my request? But why? "Really? But why?" I can't stop asking. He shrugged, he put more rice on my plate even though I didn't want

27 - I Like You Too

I couldn't speak immediately, we just stood there and looked at each other. I don't know if I heard wrong from him or maybe it was just because of the noise of the water."What did you say?" I stammered, still looking straight at him.I stepped back when he came closer to me so our skin touched each other again which was the reason for my cheeks to heat up. I feel like I've been electrocuted again even though it's cold because of the water from the shower."I know you heard me, Janiyah, but I'll say it again. I like you," he whispered to me. "I like you, Janiyah..."He slowly pressed his face to mine, he also pressed his nose to mine. My chest is beating fast again as if something is chasing me. His hand landed on my butt which shocked me even more, he caressed my back which was the reason I felt a sensation in my body."Javier..." I moaned as he kissed my ears.I almost lost my strength from what he was doing. "Do you like me too?" he whispered to me with his romantic voice.Do I lik

28 - House Visit

I woke up with a sore body, I couldn't move properly so I slowly adjusted myself in bed and turned to my side. I found out that he is not beside me anymore, I was about to react but when I saw the paper next to me, I frowned. Is this a letter?I took the paper and opened it. Indeed, this is a letter from him. I read it using my eyes.Dear my love, Janiyah... I'm sorry if I left early. There is an emergency at the company and they need me. But don't worry, I'll be home right away to pick you up. For now, prepare yourself and wear the dress I bought for you because I will pick you up to go to Angela's family...See you, my wife. I love you.Mahal,Your HusbandI looked around to find the dress he said, and immediately saw it hanging outside the walk-in closet. I left the bed to go to the clothes. It's a red asymmetrical dress. Wow, this is so elegant. I don't know if this dress suits me but I like it. I saw not only this dress but I also saw a box that I am pretty sure it's a pair of s

29 - Stay with them

Ma'am Cecille invited us to enter the house but I still remember what Lawrence whispered to me earlier. Why the hell is he calling me Aliah?"I'm sorry, I don't know what your favorite food is so I've prepared what you might like to eat." Mrs. Jude said smiling. I looked at the food on the table, there was so much that it seemed like there was an occasion, but I hadn't yet tasted the rest of the food on the table."It's okay, Mrs. Jude. I can have it except for the shrimp," I answered.Mrs. Jude’s eyes widened. Her husband and Lawrence also looked at each other. "Really? It's a good thing we didn't prepare a dish with shrimp," Mrs. Jude said.It looks like they probably know that I'm allergic to shrimp because I'm their daughter, right? I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they're thinking. We sat down at the dining table, Javier was next to me, Mrs. Jude and Lawrence next to him while Mr. Jude was at the center among us. "Thank you Janiyah for coming here, at first we were surprise

30 - Handling Company

My first day with Angela's family went well. After Javier delivered my other clothes, he immediately said goodbye because he had something else to do. I just let it go because I was doing something myself."Are you ready?" Mommy Cecille asked me. I smiled and nodded. We are going out today to do some shopping. Because she asked me to be with her. She said it was our first bonding so she could get to know me and what I like. I am sure they know what my previous job was before I met Javier, it is impossible that they are not visiting me but what I wonder is why they welcomed me right away. They were not angry."You're so beautiful, Janiyah…” She smiled at me. I smiled at her too. “Let's go? I am so excited to be with you today..." she said happily."Yes, I am excited too, Mom."The two of us left, she didn't bring any helpers but only the driver. While we were on the trip, she spoke and what she said confirmed what I was thinking earlier. "Your work...I mean your past work, what do you
