Semua Bab Guardian-In-Law: Bab 4211 - Bab 4220

“I know. Don’t worry. I know the type of person he is. I have my own judgment.” Instead of getting irritated by the constant nagging, Clarice nodded gravely. Clarice understood where Darcy was coming from, so she did not take offense at what was said. Darcy could not shake off the concern as Clarice’s car drove away. “I bet she didn’t listen to a word I said. She doesn’t care that Kaze is not a good man. Sure, he’s good-looking, but he’s messing around with a girl.” Darcy was very upset, but her hands were tied. She tried talking some sense into Clarice. However, Clarice did not take her seriously. Clarice would only press on in pursuing Kaze.Nevertheless, Kaze lied to Clarice. He did not deserve her. Darcy felt lost, not knowing if she was doing the right thing. Still, she felt the need to stop them from being together. She had been through a lot of hurt, and the last thing Darcy wanted was for Clarice to go through the same pain. Clarice deserved better. She should

Instead of a response, all Kaze heard was the sound of the door slamming shut. The answer was apparent to Kaze. Still, he was lost in dejection. The situation was unexpected and spiraling out of his control. He was glad, nonetheless. “Honestly, this is problematic.” Kaze had no idea how he should address the situation, or Clarice for that matter. Here, he thought Clarice would quickly get over her infatuation. Kaze kept her at arm’s length, so he believed he had sent a strong enough message. However, Clarice went overboard. “Having good looks can be a challenge, too. I can’t believe I’m popular with the girls.” Kaze was convinced that he kept his hands to himself, not crossing any boundaries. Besides, he had been keeping his distance from Clarice, not sending her mixed signals. However, Kaze could not stop her from falling for him. Darcy was rather nosy this time. There was no telling whether she was doing it for Clarice’s sake or trying to get back together with

“You must be aware that I’ve never once fallen for you,” Kaze said sternly, cutting Clarice off from any chances of being together. This was the only way to salvage what was left of their friendship. Her desire to take things further in their relationship should not have left Clarice’s lips. It was irrational of her to do so. “I don’t believe that at all. You pulled me out of danger so many times. You jumped in, knowing the risks involved. I doubt you feel nothing for me.” Clarice refused to believe the truth. She was running away from reality. “How can you talk about feelings when you don’t get me at all?” Kaze uttered gravely. Clarice acted on her emotions without thinking. She had no idea what love was. She was lost in the idea of romance because he played the hero and saved her. It was not certain whether Clarice liked Kaze. She probably could not differentiate between her feelings. “How can I not get you? You’re upright, kind, and dashing. Most importantly, yo

“But Kaze is such a great guy. I don’t know if I’m ever going to find love again, but I can’t get over him.”Emotions got the best of Clarice. Darcy was taken aback. Clarice poured her heart out to Kaze, but the man did not deserve her. “Don’t think of things that way. You’re amazing. There will be someone better down the line.” “I feel awful. I can’t move on.” That was not what Clarice wanted to hear. Darcy’s comforting words only made her feel worse. “Come on. Let’s find someplace to drink.” Darcy knew that people sought solace in alcohol after a heartbreak. Clarice needed a chance to let all her emotions out. “Are you going to keep me company?” Intrigued, Clarice asked. “Of course. Do you have other friends in mind?” Since Darcy was there, she would stay with Clarice to the very end. She would not leave Clarice on her own. “You’re the best. I feel comforted,” Clarice said happily and looked at Darcy emotionally. “Just so we’re clear, I can’t drink a lot, or

“Just cry it out. Let’s keep drinking.” Darcy did not know the right words to say because she was the ex-wife who did not appreciate Kaze. Nevertheless, things between her and Kaze were complicated. She could not put the situation into words. Still, it came as a shock to Darcy that Clarice was in love with Kaze. It was unbelievable. Kaze was not as great or amazing as Clarice made him out to be.“We are getting smashed tonight. Drink up,” Clarice said and downed her drink. The burning liquor slid down her throat, and she was in a whole different head space. At least, her heart did not hurt as badly anymore. Two beautiful women sat together drinking without a man in sight. Of course, it was going to attract a lot of attention. The bar could be a rowdy place. Most people were there for a fling. It was hard not to make a pass at pretty women. Some of them were at their booths, with a glass in hand, checking out the two girls. The ladies chatted and drank. One of the
