Henry. I typed furiously on my laptop, gosh I was feeling so tired, hungry, and cranky as a bitch. Now I know how hard it is to take care of a child and not to talk when that child is my jasmine, geez that little girl was a mini devil. She can act and drive me crazy every day and still had me wrapped around her tiny finger. I stopped typing and looked at the little devil on the couch in my office, even after much persuading she refused to go to her preschool and instead wanted to follow me to the office. After much crying and me promising to buy the world for her, she still refused, and here we were hours later, with a messy office and a very tired me and Jas who was currently sleeping on the couch. I groaned and leaned back in my seat, I stared at Jas for a while and smiled when she smiled in her sleep. She must be dreaming of something good,‘Maybe her momma.’ I thought and then frowned. Where did that come from? I promised myself that I wouldn’t think about Gwen again since she

Henry. “Daddy, where are you going?” I forced a smile upon hearing her question. She had been asking this for the past hours now and I was getting tired of answering the same questions over and over again. “I told you before baby, Daddy is going to a ball party,” I said arranging my tie. “A ball?” She asked with that cute confused look on her face. “What’s a ball?” “It’s a formal social gathering for the rich, where we have a good wine and dance,” I answered as best I could. She sighed and asked the next question, “Can I go with you?” I looked at her and shook my head, “No baby, you can’t.” “Why?” She questioned while I sighed. “Because this ball isn’t for kids at your age, it’s for adults.” “But I am an adot right?” She asserted. I smiled knowing she couldn’t pronounce the word ‘adult’ properly. “No, you aren’t. You are still a child and it would take many years for you to become an adult.” “But why’s she going if I’m not.” I frowned and looked at her. She was pointing at

Gwen. The next day after getting that invitation card from Dad’s study, Jade, Nina and I went for dress shopping. We were attended to quickly and after searching for a perfect dress, I finally found one. It was a black dress with spaghetti hands and I immediately fell in love with it. After that, we went shoe and bag shopping before having lunch at a restaurant then went back to the mansion. Dad gave me a list of those attending the ball and I had to memorize them and know every freaking one of them. According to Dad, he was the one behind the project like he was the one funding the company in California and also the one pointing out where to invest or not. I was surprised with that news but overall it was expected that Dad was super rich.I went through the list but paused when I saw Henry Baldwin’s name boldly written there, my heart squeezed painfully just seeing his name. Henry, will he ever be able to forget him? I asked myself. He was my first love…and still is. My first ki

Gwen. “Gwen! I wasn’t expecting to see you here!” Emily called out excitedly like the both of us were best friends. I looked at her and instantly knew what she was up to, having Emily near was not good. She would try to create drama if I didn’t answer her or act like I was pleased to see her. I beamed and forced a smile out, “You too! I don’t know you will be coming with my…Henry Emily.” I almost said something that I would have regretted later on. “We were invited, no actually Henry was so I decided to tag along with him since I can’t stay alone at home with me being fussy every time.” She complained with a cute pout on her lips. And I will have to commend her for her good acting, she was trying to rub more salt into my injury. “That’s great then!” I replied, not knowing what to say next. We weren’t friends and I don’t want to see these two cheating bastards before me. Their sight irks me and all I wanted to do at this point was slap them. “What about you? How did you get in a

Henry. I wanted to believe Emily when she said Gwen was stalking me, because no matter how I try to tell myself that it wasn’t true I just can’t come up with anything. The question in my head troubling right now was; how was she able to get in? I mean, this is an elite party where a ‘nobody’ is allowed in but she was here. Dressed in a body-fitting dress that show all her curves and damn was it my eyes or does Gwen look more sexy and beautiful in that dress. She looked sophisticated like a goddess, so beautiful that she was the attention of all men at this ball which I hated. I hate that she could grab these men's attention and that makes her a queen. She was so beautiful that I am seeing her in a new light, this Gwen wasn’t the one I married years back. She looked different, colder, and had no love in her eyes when looking at me. I have always seen the love in her eyes when she looked at me but now all I could see was hate. The deep dislike she has for me and the hatred seem to b
