Lucas’ POVI was glad that Everly did not come back to the hospital room when the doctor was announcing about Kiran’s pregnancy. Kiran and Melody, accompanied by the nurse were behind me walking out of the hospital room to go to the pharmacist. I had taken a turn to head to the direction where Everly was then I saw her turn and started walking towards me. She had already ended the phone call. “Oh, sorry I took so long on the phone call.” She apologized as we met. “It’s alright, we were almost leaving. Kiran and Melody have proceeded to collect the medication.” I explained. “Wow, that’s nice. What was she suffering from? I hope it was not something serious.” She anxiously inquired. “Sure, it was nothing serious. She will be alright soon. But the doctor advised her to take good care of herself. Drink more water and eat well.” I tried to explain to her. But still wondering how exactly I could hide it from her on the real results of Kiran’s pregnancy. “I hope she won’t inquire

Everly’s POVLucas and Kiran had already managed to subject me to enough pain and ended up selling me to the Lycan king. We had already exited the auctioneer's room with Alex then I was hustled into his waiting carriage, and soon the horses surged forward with a whisker. I slumped against threaded wool, drinking in fresh scents of pine and musk that seemed... comforting, compared to the filth and fear permeating my world for so long. Silence reigned for some time as the countryside rolled by, my new lord content to simply observe with that unfathomable stare."You need not fear me, little one," rumbled a deep baritone suddenly, yet its gentleness surprised me. "No harm will come to you in my care, you have my word. Rest now; we have a long journey, and you've endured too much as it is."Despite my instincts screaming this was surely another cruel trick, a sob welled in my throat at such small kindness after endless cruelty. Exhaustion claimed me before I knew what c

Everly’s POVOne sunny afternoon, the troupe crossed a swift river via a wooden bridge. I lingered at the rear to drink the chill water's refreshment. This river always reminded me of Alex’s fun moments that we have had a couple of times. The first time he intended to show me that river, I got pricked by a thorn and our journey ended there. He carried me on his shoulder back to the palace and that was the first time we mated. After that, he has taken me to this river a couple of times. My bond towards him had started to be strong though I have always tried to resist those feelings. I have never believed that I would ever fall in love again after Lucas betrayed me. I was convinced that I had been cursed by the moon's goddess. Suddenly cries rang out - the aged boards ahead collapsed under several heavily armed males' weight. I instinctively shoved energy into my limbs and dove, hitting the current just as the section fell away. The screams were becoming louder and terrified

Everly’s POVI remained lost in the novel wonder of Alex's affection for many sunrises, thriving under his care and devotion. Indeed, Alex was caring and I had not expected that from him. All along I have been trying as hard as I could to prevent myself from falling in love with Alex. I did not think that I was ready to be someone’s chosen mate yet. On the other hand, Alex tried all that he could to win my heart. He has been so persistent and consistent with his game of winning me to an extend that I started becoming overpowered by his affection. I realized that our bond started to strengthen with each passing day, awakening profound peace in Everly's soul.  Yet shadows crept into their woodland haven unnoticed. One misty dawn, I stirred restlessly from troubled visions and left Alex's tent for solace beyond camp borders. My wanderings took me upstream along the brook's path, where a splash alerted my senses.Peering through alder thickets, I fr

Everly’s POVIt has been several minutes of battling with these magic beasts with Alex. My body was full of wounds and I felt as if I was going to breathe my last. I tried to scream but no sound could come from me. I could helplessly watch Alex struggling to help me though he also seemed overpowered. However, he persisted struggled, and managed to tear the beast off my weary body. Dimly, I registered a glowing energy rising from my palms to meet the darkness seeping from my many wounds. For the first time, I realized the full potential of my rare healing gifts was awakening under extreme duress. It seemed as if I was in a dreamland. Over the past few minutes, I had already given up and was ready for anything worse. My body was weary and full of wounds. I was in so much pain and could not fight the beast anymore. I was also not sure whether Alex would manage to save me because he also seemed to be overpowered by the beast. But my hope started to slowly cr
