Lahat ng Kabanata ng Sacrificed My Kidney for a Cheat: Kabanata 181 - Kabanata 190

It was the closure that I really liked when the courtroom was empty, and only I and the judge were left in the room. The trial was torture but this has finally come to an end and justice has been served for the wrongs done to me which was a victory for me.Kylo and I went out of the courtroom holding hands. It was good that we were free from the heavy trial, a new part of our life was set to begin. I eagerly anticipated starting my own life and having some quiet and calm after the recent events that occurred over several months. After the trial, it was important to think about how the whole process that led to this moment has been arranged. All along the fight for justice had not been a walk in the park, but with people by my side, the fight was much easier. There had been struggles, yes, but there had also been growth and determination within me.Standing outside the courthouse, I was finally starting to feel the freedom that I didn’t know I had been looking for. Truth won this time

The very moment the door made noises like it was about to close, I had feelings that my mother had come. Being in the living room, I clenched my fists seeing her step into the room anxiously. She could hardly believe that she had taken a month-long vacation; a lot had transpired during her time away.My mind filled with the idea of what she would soon discover – the trial, the betrayals, the bitterness of the truth that did not stay hidden. I had been expecting this moment knowing the pain and the loss that was awaiting her.Of course, when she saw me, she stood still. There was fatigue in her facial expressions, especially her eyes, but the most profound emotion depicted on her face was anguish. She stared right at me as if I was a complete stranger and I knew it was because I had changed quite a lot in her absence.I got up from the couch and then felt a bit weak on my legs as I approached her. My voice seemed to be stagnant in my throat but I had to find the voice to speak.“Mom…”

KYLO’S POV Seated inside the hospital room, watching Varya’s unconscious form resting on that bed made my soul skip a few beats. For a second such scenes felt as if old regrets come back to clamor for attention, the blame squarely on me. Just a minute ago, we had all been having dinners around the dining table with some light-hearted fun in welcoming Mrs. Luther back from the vacation. And the next minute Varya’s face was all pale. She had just… passed out. Panic gripped me when I called out her name, my voice cracking as I hurried over to her. Her eyelids dropped shut as she went slack in my grasp. Everything thereafter had become hazy, my body moving her to the car almost instinctively, Grandpa barking orders, Mrs. Luther’s terrified screeching. The aftermath of the events that occurred in that room only served to numb my senses, bright white lights, dull violent sounds and those words which I considered would be my salvation–erase my sadness. Please, please save her. A

Our marriage had always been complicated. The initial arrangement was an agreement that appeared chilled and calculated, but over time it grew into something else entirely; however, it was still fraught with pain and confusion.Kylo has always maintained his distance and locked away his feelings behind a wall that cannot be breached. I made unsuccessful attempts to approach him, and comprehend him but every effort was met with impassivity, which was colder than any nasty remark. But now everything felt more pressing and real since the baby was about to be born. I could not remain in an empty marriage anymore.I had to know where Kylo really stood on this matter; what did he really want from me? Then again fear of his response, the fear that he would confirm my most dreadful suspicions kept me quiet. The sound of footsteps disturbed my thoughts as I looked up to see Kylo standing at the door holding a breakfast tray in hand. His expression was serious, he searched my eyes for something

Grandpa really outdid himself this time, organizing a gathering of families and business partners alike, ostensibly to celebrate unity and success. And yet, there was something different about the atmosphere tonight that made my heart flutter with both anticipation and nervousness.I stood by one of those tall windows, staring out at the city lights twinkling like stars in a dark sea of void below. My dress—a deep burgundy one which hugged all my curves—made me feel beautiful but there was sadness in me I couldn’t shake off. This occasion seemed more than mere business or family matters; it was a night filled with promise while I remained uncertain whether I was ready for what lay ahead.Earlier on Kylo had been distant; not so much in his previous coldness as in his thoughtfulness or rather secretiveness.Still, he had been considerate of my comfort but there was something intense about his gaze that I could not define. It had been a long way for us full of misunderstandings, pains o
