DISCHARGE DAY. I sat on my hospital bed packing a few of my properties that I had with me. The little clothes and other things mom and Jane had brought from home for me. I and Jane sat folding my clothes, while my mom was doing whatever she was at the hospital kitchen. She was probably clearing the flask before bringing it for packing. My dad was downstairs helping out with the processes for my discharge. How mom managed to convince me to stay in this hospital for over three weeks is still a wonder to me. Mom, dad and even the doctors worked hand in hand to discourage me from leaving and going back to work Finally I was being discharged today, mom insisted but no way I was going to stay cooped up here for another day. The only reason I agreed to tolerate staying here was because I still felt guilty about not telling mom about everything that had been happening. Well, truly the stay in this hospital was not as horrible as I thought it would be and how I made I mom feel I th

TRUE FORM. It has been a week since the bleeding reoccurred for the second time. But here I was still stubbornly in San Francisco. Mom, dad and even Jane all tried their possible best to convince me to go back to New York but I wouldn't listen. I don't need anybody to survive, I could do this on my own, like every trial I have triumphed this one would pass too, this was the lie I kept telling myself. Who was I kidding? I needed someone to be with me, I needed help but it does not have to come from or be in New York. Mom was really mad that I wasn't taking this seriously, she said she would talk to me or come search for me until I decide to go back to New York. It pained me to see her push me away even though we both knew that was the last thing she wanted to do. I wasn't going to bulge neither was she. At first I thought well, it's mom after some days she would forget about all of these and get over it and we would return to the way we were but not this time was the reply I recei

GOING TO THE AIRPORT. With my fluffy pink towel wrapped loosely around me and my messy hair fully subdued inside my hair bonnet, I headed to the bathroom. I pulled the towel and hung it on the hanger and I also removed the bonnet. My hair was not just a mess, it was a smelly mess. I wasn't going to head back to New York looking the way I felt, terrible. At least I should make them see that I was doing not so bad without them, besides I had not washed my hair for days now, so yeah killing two birds with one stone. I turned on the shower and got under it. I didn't turn on the water heater because I needed to use cold water to shower. I wanted to fully be awake, cold water would help to achieve just that. After I had washed my hair and bathed, I looked at the small mirror on top of the basin. I used my palm to wipe away the water so that I could see clearly. I thought they said you looked your worse during pregnancy. Right now looking at my reflection, I saw my skin looks clearer t

OLD FLAME. I hadn't heard anything about Rose for a while, things here had been very hectic. The pack needed a reshuffling and I gave all my attention for the past weeks to that. They need to understand that I would not tolerate any form of disloyalty. I heard a knock on my door. It was to get a report on Rose's activities. “Come in” I said. “Good day, my Lord” the man greeted. I nodded my head in acknowledgement of his greeting. “Hope she is doing fine?” I asked him. He cleared his throat and repositioned himself firmly. “Currently that is the case my Lord” I heard him say and I winced at those words. “Currently?” I asked, turning my full attention to the man in front of me. He swallowed nervously. “My Lord, the thing is, on the day when she was to be discharged, that's some weeks ago, she began bleeding again so she had to stay in the hospital for some more days.” I heard him say. “She bled again? And why am I being told now?” I asked him enraged. He hesitated on his wo

UNPLEASANT VISIT. I stood by the large window in my office, lost in my own world. With my hands deeply tucked in the trousers of my very expensive bulgari three piece suit. I kept Staring blankly at the beautiful view I was beholding. Years ago, this view was very exceptional to me, looking at this was calming, but that was years ago. As I looked at it now, I felt nothing, nothing at all. The years had been really cruel to me and I was definitely going to pay it back. Things had changed, I had changed. I hear my phone ring from behind me. It sat there, majestically, on the armrest of one of the couches. I walked towards it, pulling my hands out of my pocket, I picked it up and answered the call. “Has her seat been changed?” I asked immediately the line was connected. “Yes, my Lord, it has been taken care of, she is now seated in the first class area. “Of what airline?” I asked. “Umm,I'm not sure if the name sir. I'll check, it's not a popular one” I heard him say. Gosh! I was
