Zyrielle's POV. "Of course not. I only try my best to make sure that things are in order." "You may come in." The nurse mentioned and we rose before walking after her into the doctor's office. "Good day, Mr and Mrs..." He trailed off when we walked in, not wanting to offend us. "Duncan." Rain supplied. I didn't object. "Please, take your seats." He motioned to the chair and we sat. "I will be taking your vitals signs because I want to assess you personally. I hope that's okay?" He inquired. A nurse was present with him and I nodded. There was no way that I could object that. It would give me more confidence that I was probably in good hands. "Yeah, you can go ahead please." I told him and he looked up at me. He checked my blood pressure and my weight. "Lovely results." He muttered, making me a bit happy at the answer. It was great. I didn't want to be hypertensive. "May I know the symptoms you're having?" "I feel weak and do not have any appetite to eat." I responded whi

Chapter 24. Zyrielle's POV. "Yes, I'll be there in a jiffy. I want to talk to everyone at the right time. Get all the papers right on time. Do you want me to change anything? Send them to me via email so that I can rectify it from over here." "Don't tell me what the hell to do. If you can't do it, send her away." He replied and I stared at him softly. He didn't know that I was watching him. His muscles flexed underneath his flannel shirt, while I watched him slowly. "Hmm, are you sure you heard her well? I can't believe that because I know what's at stake here. Now, if you will allow me to talk to Zyron he'll sit up." He spoke and I stared at him quietly. He was angry. I wonder who managed to piss him off. "Okay, is there anything that you want me to do for you? Name it." He continued talking. I was confused, was he that generally nice or was there some caveat which I didn't understand? I wondered. "Yeah, I'm in the hospital, I will talk to you later." He answered the perso

Zyrielle's POV. "Not now, Lucas." I groaned under my breath. We were beginning to draw attention and I was pained by this outcome. This didn't make any sense at all. I locked eyes with Rain but even feared for my life when I saw the way he was vibrating in anger. I reached for his arm across the table. As much as I would like to answer Lucas, this wasn't the right place. I wanted to slap a lawsuit in his face. That way, I would be able to get rid of him instantly without any remorse. He was seething, tension was brimming and sparks were about to fly. If we condoned it, then we would be butting heads soon. Instead I smiled at him. "I didn't know that you frequented a place like this. One would think that a man of your status wouldn't be found here. Where's your arm candy?" I pretended to gaze around, searching for his royal deliciousness. His face turned grim, causing me to laugh at him. He was making a big fool out of himself and I was here to watch in delight. I placed an arm on

Zyrielle's POV. "I think it will be better if we go to a park so we don't get overwhelmed," Rain suggested to me. I nodded after a moment's hesitation. I contemplated it for a second and came to the conclusion that it was not a bad idea. "I don't mind that," I said, giving him a small smile to show my approval of his suggestion for us to go to the park. It would be best than returning to his house. We walked to his car. I was not expecting that he would follow me to my side of the door and open it for me. I could feel the blood rush to my cheeks as I blushed. "Thank you," I said with a small smile. He smiled back at me as he shut the door. While he headed to the driver's side of the car, I struggled to catch my breath. I fanned my face so that the heat would calm down. He got in and started the car after I was buckled in. "You ready?" He asked and I nodded. He nodded with a brief smile and put the car in drive, pulling out of the driveway and into the road. He seemed very serene a

Zyrielle's POV. Today was a hell of a rollercoaster as I tried to make sense of what was happening. One minute, I was at the hospital; the next, I was striding to his office despite my protests. I had come to realize that Rain always enjoyed having his way. It gave him the kick and it made me a bit angry that stuff like this was happening. "You sure are very happy." I gritted under my breath as he placed a palm on my back, sending waves of pleasure through me. "Yeah, I am. I want everyone to know that I'm finally taken. It's a pity how they think I can't woo a woman, a beautiful one at that." He threw his head back and laughed before becoming sober. "My bad, milady." He acted so chivalrously, imitating the English."You are one hell of a character." I retorted. I knew that he was trying to build a connection but I was sure of what would happen afterward, he would let me down like his nephew did. "I don't like such a face. It tells me that you're thinking about something sinister,
