EXPLOSION

They all turned and began running. Just as they reached the entrance, the bomb detonated. The explosion ripped through the air, shaking the ground beneath their feet. A deafening roar swallowed their screams as the building collapsed. Zach barely had time to react. He was thrown back by the sheer force of the blast, crashing to the ground along with the police officers. The world around him became a blur of dust, smoke, and crumbling debris. Pain shot through his body as he landed hard on the cold floor, his arms instinctively bracing for impact. His hands and legs burned from the force, even though he wore a protective suit. It didn’t matter. The damage had been done. Around him, the police officers lay scattered. Some were crushed under the weight of fallen concrete blocks, others impaled by sharp shards of metal. Moans of pain filled the air, but none of them were dead—yet. The blast had spared their lives, though at a steep cost. Zach struggled to push himself up, his limbs t

THE MASKED MAN

Anna struggled to pull Zach up, her muscles trembling with the effort as she dragged his limp body toward the car. Just when she thought she'd collapse, a masked man stepped out of the vehicle, his movements swift yet deliberate. Without a word, he grabbed Zach's other arm, and together, they lifted him into the back seat. Anna quickly slipped in beside Zach, her heart pounding in her chest. The masked man took the driver’s seat and, without hesitation, floored the gas pedal. The car zoomed forward, its tires screeching on the asphalt."We need to get to the hospital. Fast," Anna urged, her voice edged with panic.“That’s exactly where we’re heading,” the man replied, his tone calm but firm.Anna squinted, her nerves taut, unsure of who this stranger was. Her mind raced with questions. As she bit her lip, she finally gave in to curiosity. “Who...who are you?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The man reached up, tugging at the mask. As it came off, Anna’s breath caught in h

AUDREY'S POV

After Chris finished his phone call, he turned to the men standing around, his voice cold and sharp.“Hey, watch her. Make sure nothing goes wrong. If anything does, you're screwed."He didn’t wait for a response. His orders were final, and everyone knew it. Without a second glance, he strode out of the room, his long coat trailing behind him. I heard the engine of his car rumble to life, the sound vibrating through the walls. And just like that, he was gone, leaving me alone with these brutes. One of the men stepped forward, the one in charge now. His face twisted into a sickening grin, one that made my stomach turn. The moment Chris left, his demeanor changed entirely, as if he’d been waiting for this moment.I stared at him, refusing to show any fear. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that fear gives them power. The second they sense weakness, they pounce. And I wasn’t going to give him that satisfaction. He crouched down in front of me, his breath reeking of c

WHAT HAPPENED AUDREY?

I looked at Chris, then at the men. Their expressions were clear—I could see fear etched on their faces. It was ironic, really. A short while ago, these same men had danced around me in mockery, taunting me, laughing as if I were a joke. Now, I stood there, watching them tremble in fear. The power shift was overwhelming. I didn’t want them to drop dead like they were cursed, but the thought crossed my mind. What if? What if they fell? What if I could make them pay for how they humiliated me? I clenched my fists, lowering my head to avoid their eyes. The heaviness of Chris’s presence lingered, but I kept my silence. I couldn’t let myself be consumed by the moment, no matter how tempting it was. Chris’s eyes stayed on me, unwavering. “Come on, Audrey, don’t be scared. I promise they won’t hurt you. Just tell me what happened.” His words were calm, but I knew better. There was a tension there, a coiled spring waiting to snap. I could feel it in the air. The others could feel it to

MOVE AND I SHOOT.

Hearing the low rumble of the car approaching, my heart pounded in my chest. This was it. The chance I’d been waiting for. Freedom was so close I could almost taste it, but I couldn’t afford to make a mistake. Every second mattered. I darted out of the building, my legs moving faster than I’d ever thought possible. Cold air hit my face, snapping me into focus. As I neared the gates, my instincts screamed at me not to run. If they saw me sprinting, they'd know something was wrong.I scanned my surroundings, frantic. There—a large drum near the gates. Without thinking, I dove behind it, pressing my back against the cold metal, my breath coming in sharp, shallow bursts. I held my breath as the car slowed to a stop right in front of me. My pulse thundered in my ears, threatening to give me away. The car doors creaked open, and I peeked through a small gap between the drum and the wall. I could see their legs—five men, all of them armed. The leader, a tall man with a scar that ran from his

ONE MORE WORD AND I'LL BLOW HER HEAD OFF

Audrey raised her trembling hands in defense as Chris's grip tightened around her throat. The cold muzzle of the gun pressed hard against her temple, sending waves of fear through her entire body.“Chris... please... let me go,” Audrey pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. Her eyes searched his, desperate for the man she once knew, but all she found was rage.Chris's lip curled into a sneer. “Shut up, you ungrateful bitch!” His voice cracked with fury. “After everything I did for you... this is how you repay me? I killed for you, Audrey. I killed!” His grip tightened, making it harder for her to breathe.Audrey's heart pounded in her chest as the weight of his words sank in. The Chris she knew was gone, replaced by someone she barely recognized.“Stop this, Chris!” Zach’s voice echoed. He stepped forward cautiously, hands raised in a gesture of peace. “Just let her go.”Chris laughed—a harsh, cruel sound. “Let her go? You think it’s that simple? Shut up, Zach! One more word, and

IMAGINATIONS

“Shut up, you ungrateful bitch!” His voice cracked with fury. “After everything I did for you... this is how you repay me? I killed for you, Audrey. I killed!”Audrey gasped, her chest rising and falling rapidly as the weight of her past memories hit her like a wave, forcing her upright. She wiped the sweat off her forehead, her breath coming in shallow bursts, a cold sweat breaking out across her skin. The room felt too small, too confining. With a heavy sigh, she finally stood, trying to shake off the haunting scene replaying in her mind—Chris being shot, over and over again. Each repetition was a dagger, stabbing at her sanity. She forced herself into the bathroom to brush her teeth and shower, hoping the routine would clear her mind. The familiar motions usually provided some solace, a semblance of normalcy amid the chaos. But as she brushed, an unsettling irritation crept into her chest, tightening like a noose. Her mind betrayed her, still replaying Chris’s death, his eyes wide

CHLOE

Never mind; she’s just a child, I thought, trying to brush off the weight of the moment.I stood up, still in shock from the recent events swirling in my mind. With shaky breaths, I walked to catch up with Zach, my heart thumping loudly in my chest. As I walked, I admired the internal structure of the house around me. The chandeliers hung like sparkling stars, casting soft light that danced across the walls. They were beautiful—there were so many of them, each unique in its design, shimmering like jewels. The house was massive and wide, a labyrinth of rooms and hallways that seemed to stretch on forever, filled with the echoes of laughter and memories yet to be made. Finally, I caught up to them—Anna, Zach, Jake, and his adorable daughter, Chloe, who seemed to harbor a deep-seated resentment toward me. The air around us felt heavy, charged with the unspoken tension between Chloe and me.When I arrived, chloe turned and glared at me, her little face twisted in contempt, a fierce expres

COLLEGE?

I laid on the bed, my mind swirling with thoughts of Chloe. The events of the day had left me drained, yet sleep wouldn’t come. The soft, ambient hum of the night filled the room, and the bed beneath me felt unfamiliar, like I wasn’t meant to rest here—at least not yet. Just as my heavy eyelids started to close, a sudden knock broke the stillness, pulling me from the edges of sleep and back into the present moment.“Who is it?” I asked reluctantly, my voice betraying how little energy I had left. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, the coolness of the floor meeting my feet as I stood, slightly annoyed by the interruption. Slowly, I made my way to the door, my movements sluggish and unsteady, as if the very air in the room was too thick to move through. When I opened the door, I was greeted by the sight of a butler standing in the dimly lit hallway, my luggage in his hands. His presence startled me for a moment. It wasn’t often that I interacted with the staff, especially after s

STAY AWAY FROM MY BOYFRIEND YOU WHORE

The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed. For the first time in what felt like ages, I wasn't weighed down by the usual stress and uncertainty that had plagued me for weeks. I blinked a few times, adjusting to the light that poured in through the curtains. The soft rays of the golden sun reflected on my face, warming my skin gently. I yawned deeply as I stretched my arms overhead, feeling the pleasant pull in my muscles. It was a small, ordinary morning stretch, but something about today felt different. For a moment, I lay still, enjoying the sense of calm that enveloped me. It was as if a heavy burden had been lifted from my chest overnight. The usual tightness I felt around my heart, the constant buzz of anxious thoughts, seemed quieter today. It was a rare moment of peace—one that I hadn’t experienced in a while. The world outside my window seemed peaceful too. The birds chirped softly in the distance, their melodies blending with the rustling leaves in the morning breeze. The
