EveMy eyes fluttered open and I stretched tiredly. It was a new day and I needed to start getting ready for work. I looked around the room, and it felt both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time because it was Sinclair's room. I haven't slept in his room for over five years and then suddenly I only woke up here. The realization made me understand how time changed so quickly. Perhaps I was lucky to experience a changed Sinclair before it all went to hell, taking everything he loved like this would hurt him more and I was pleased about it.Speaking of Sinclair, I turned to the side to wake him up, but I was surprised he wasn't there. Where was he? I usually wake up before him.I sighed and slowly got up from the bed. I was feeling parched, so I reached for the jug of water, but it was empty. I decided to go downstairs for it since I was going to oversee cooking anyway.I left the room and was about to come down the stairs when I heard two people talking in a low voice. My curiosity

Eve“Oh, how much I have missed your cooking, it smells so good in here,” I praised as I watched Wilfred cook in the kitchen.“Of course it does,” she replied cockily, and we both laughed.Today was a blast, I felt like I had hung out with my mother all day. After our spa date, we went to eat and relaxed at the park while we caught up on our time apart, talking about everything and anything. I haven't felt this much peace in a while… if only Sinclair realized how lucky he was.The sound of the front door opening caught my attention, and I stepped out of the kitchen to see that it was Sinclair walking into the house. “Hey, darling. You are back, how was work?” I asked as I kissed him shortly and took his suitcase.“It was extremely boring without you,” he blurted out rather bluntly, and I burst out laughing. Then I remembered Bill was in the same living room, reading a newspaper, and my laughter died down. “Dad…” Sinclair said, noticing his presence as well.“Welcome home, son” Bill

Eve I woke up and stretched quietly in order not to wake Sinclair who was finally sleeping peacefully. The night was the roughest one I have experienced in a while. We ended up retiring to bed late after Sinclair managed to fall asleep. I wouldn't deny that I was worried, worried about Sinclair and his family. They have been the only family I knew for so many years and I have grown deeply fond of them. Their problems were my problems no matter how much I tried to overlook them. Besides that, I wasn't going to punish Wilfred for the problem her son caused, taking over the company was a separate issue and didn't reduce my affection towards her. With that said, I got up early to begin cooking. I had researched meal ideas that were good for people with pancreatic cancer and decided to make chicken and rice casserole with some vegetable stir fry and a bowl of Greek yogurt with berries and granola. I got help from the cooks as well, so in an hour or so, we were done cooking. “Someth

EveI didn't know whether to smile or laugh as soon as I heard him. Trusting me was his biggest mistake. My sincerest apologies to Wilfred, I had to use her illness to my advantage.“Do you really trust me to handle the company?” I asked him, assuming the most heartfelt eyes.“Evie, I trust no one else except you. It will be just for a few days to finalize the collaboration deal. If you face any difficulty, then ask the board members, they are way more experienced and their joint opinion will help you,” he advised.“Thank you, I'll try my best to seal the deal” I replied with a smile. In fact, sealing the deal was no problem now that he was going to be absent, but he didn't need to know that. If only he knew, he wouldn't have trusted me.I called back Jasmine to set the meeting for tomorrow, and I sent a text message to Khalif about the newest development. Once that was done, I joined Sinclair at the bench and stared at people going about their daily activities. A text came into Sin

Eve A week passed by quickly and the doctor finally approved for Wilfred to be discharged to receive medical care at home.Sinclair was very thorough with her medical care; he hired a nurse to take care of her 24/7, and he purchased all the necessary medical equipment that she might need in a crisis, should she have one at home.“My son is so extra, isn't he? I mean, look at all that, his stuff, the room looks like a freaking hospital ICU.” Wilfred grumbled under her breath with a frown, but I could still hear her.I was escorting her to her room; which was moved downstairs for easy access, for some rest.I chuckled softly and replied as I observed the room setup, “He is just very worried about you…”“I know” she murmured without missing a beat. After getting her tucked in for a nap, I returned to my room to see Sinclair lying down to rest his head.“Is she asleep now?” he asked as soon as I stepped in but his eyes were closed.“Yes, she is. It didn't take long, as soon as she hit th
