Eve “Oh, that's not yours, that's meant for Sinclair” I added in a considerably lower voice. I walked to Bill despite the suspicious stares I got and continued, “I added some soda water to it because Sinclair loves to drink red wine that way,” I lied, and carefully took the glass from him and handed him another one. Maybe I shouldn't have laced it when everyone was having a drink too, I thought, and took a mental note. I couldn't have this happen again. What if Bill and, worse still, Wilfred take it? No no no… I need to be more careful. I didn't want anybody to die on my hands, even if that person was Sinclair. Eve “Hello, were you able to see it?” I asked the person on the other end of the phone.“Yes, but only half of it. I found it cute how Sinclair thought he could sneak into the office and I wouldn't know about it. EveA week later, the funeral party of Mrs Wilfred was being held at Sinclair's mansion. Sinclair had built a small house at the back of the mansion where her body would be buried. We were currently gathered around the building and the priest was saying a few words before she was taken in. We were all dressed in black and the atmosphere was solemn and sad.I heard Sinclair sniffle beside me and I placed my hand on his shoulder to offer my comfort. For the past week, Sinclair's has been in mourning. Friends and coworkers trooped in after the other to offer their condolences. So many nights, sleep refused to come while sometimes I woke up to Sinclair weeping and staring absentmindedly at nothing. As for Bill, he was barely at the house, always outside in the small funeral house where his wife would be laid to rest.
