On getting to the sitting room, she stood transfixed on seeing who it was, her heart began to race, she had forgotten about him and here he was, standing in front of her with a bouquet of rose flowers." Victor?"." Hey, Alice", he stood before her smiling but Alice wasn't smiling back." What are you doing here?"," Uh..."," Why didn't you tell me you were coming?", she asked not letting him talk," I wanted to inform you but you were not picking up my calls or replying to my texts"," You should know that's because I'm busy"," Of course, sure, that's why I came to surprise you", he said smiling and extending the bouquet forward.Alice eyed the flowers and sat on the couch, " just drop it there", she pointed at the table." Um, okay", he placed it on the table." So what are you doing here?"," I want to take you out, you know, go on a date"," And what makes you think I'm interested in going on a date with you?"." Clarisse strangely felt her heart melt, heavy at the same time, she smiled with teary eyes as she stared at herself in the mirror. She looked so beautiful in the new dress, she didn't even think it would fit her like this nor did she imagine she'd ever end up wearing a new dress, it wasn't oversized, it wasn't dirty nor shabby, it was beautiful, well fitted that she couldn't help but like and admire it.There was a time she desperately wished for one, a time she thought she'd be a Cinderella that a prince would come for, wishing for a new dress, a shoe for her soar feet but those hopes vanished, those wishes became an unreachable imagination but here they are again, it felt so different this time, so unreal that she doesn't trust anything, not even the moment she put it on.' " Is she okay? Did she fail to see me because of yesterday?", Christian asked himself as he stood in front of her door, contemplating whether to go in or not but he chose to just leave for work. Meanwhile, Clarisse was instead, having a moment of herself as she murderously tore the lap of the roasted chicken apart, shoving it into her mouth and reaching out to the bangers and then the fluffy mashed potatoes." Hmm..uhh", she moaned as she kept enjoying the meal. At one point, her eyes got teary with her mouth stuffed with food, on her right hand was a wing of chicken and her left hand was a spoon. She got emotional."This is the best meal ever", she chuckled as tears rolled down her cheeks, " and I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts", she said and resumed eating very fast like it was going to be snatched away from her soon.*****************" He isn't that hardworking or righteous he just like being in the limelight", worker A said with disdain," You forgot to add that he's also an

' I knew this place was heaven on earth, if a family house can be this beautiful, I wonder what is left in paradise ', Clarisse said in her mind as she gazed through the window, watching the garden in the compound, it looked so beautiful as she watched from above, its garden of flowers and plants was protected by a glassy wall. She decided to take a break and enjoyed the view after sowing the dress she had always been working on but the moment was interrupted when she heard a knock on the door. She has chosen not to leave her room afraid to come across any of the family members so her heart skipped hard when she heard the knock." Come in", she said blinking her eyes and her breath changing. The old man who had come to wake her up in the morning strode in a long with some maids. They bowed slightly before her and she also bowed back unsure of what was going on. They came in with a rail of clothes." Good evening ma'am"," Good evening sir"," Clinton ma'am, please call me that","I..I

" You're not expecting me to leave my woman to follow you, are you?", Christian said coldly," Huh?", Alice stood still surprised, ' did he just call her his woman?', she said in her mind and hated it so much.Christian turned to Patricia, " Ain't you close to your daughter? And ain't you close with your sister?", he asked them maintaining his cool and aloofness." Of..of course, we are close", Patricia stammered getting intimidated," And yet you don't know your own daughter's character?"," Of course I do"," Then how is it so different from what you've said, she's so well mannered, cultured, respectful, and above all, exceptionally beautiful, but it's so different from what you've called her to be", he attacked.Patricia was out of words and Ashley and Sharon smirked.' That's my son,' that's my brother ', they both said in their mind.Clarisse was surprised, she opened her eyes slowly and looked at Christian who was busy defending her. She wasn't expecting that at all." And you
