'Thank goodness !' Hector said as soon as she got back. 'Why?' she asked, bemused. 'You took your time. I was wondering if I should come and drag you out of the restroom or if you had run off from there!' he said. 'You were timing me?' she asked incredulous. This man was really annoying!' she thought. 'No!' he said smiling annoyingly at her. 'I am just stating a fact!' Shaking her head in exasperation, Alexa said. 'Anyway, I am not interested in your contract. So, you might as well tear it up!' she said pushing the contract that was lying on the table back to him. 'Are the conditions stated there not satisfactory enough?' he asked. 'Oh, they are for someone who wants your god damn money. Not for me!' she replied. 'What do you want then?' he asked. 'Nothing!' she snapped. 'I just want to live my life and raise those wonderful pups I have been gifted by the Moon Goddess!' 'But I am giving you that opportunity. To raise them along side another who also considers you his mum. So

While they were there having a great lunch together, Camellia came into the restaurant to eat. She was happy she had used her cunning to escape Challotte's plot to ruin her. She was famished and just wanted sometime alone. She sat down and when the waiter approached her, she gave him her order and he went away to bring it. While waiting for him to come back with her order, Camellia thought about the plan she and Challotte had come up with to deal with Alexa. She smiled. It served Alexa right. How dare she threaten her! She had literally humiliated her in the office that morning. Then she recalled how Challotte had lured her into that cafe. 'Challotte, you might think we are now friends, but that is just to remove the obstacle on my path!' she said to herself. 'Once we succeed in getting rid of Alexa, I shall make sure I give you a taste of your own medicine!' she vowed. Valerie had been a great accomplice. Of not for the fact that she had got caught, Alexa would have been long gon

'What I found most strange was the fact that uncle Wayne asked us if he could come in', when we got to the door', Landon said, her eyes narrowed, thoughtfully. 'It was as though he wanted us to invite him in' 'How's that odd?' Alexa asked. 'He brought us from school and opened the door and when he allowed us in before him, he stood at the door, waiting for us to invite him in!' It made no sense! He knows he is always welcomed. 'Maybe he didn't want to take your hospitality for granted, he was just being polite!' Alexa suggested, not seeing the great deal in it. 'I doubt that!' Landon said. 'Then why didn't you ask him his reasons?'' his mother asked. 'I did but he just smiled but said nothing and by the time he started playing games with us, I forgot about it. I just recalled it now!' 'Landon, forget about that. I see nothing strange about it. I told you so, yesterday!' Leigh said, brushing off her brother's anxiety. They were still speaking when they heard a knock at the door

How time flies! It was the long awaited weekend and as Alexa waited for Hector to bring Lionel, she felt both apprehension and excitement grow in her. She was bubbling with excitement that Lionel was going to be staying the whole day and next with them but apprehensive that Hector would find out about Landon and Leigh. Her thoughts were interrupted as she felt her heart jump when she heard the car pull up in the premises. She looked out the window and sure enough, it was Hector and Lionel. 'Mum, you have been so excited, is it just because Lionel is coming to spend the weekend with us?' Lionel asked. She wanted to tell them Lionel was their biological brother and not just their best friend but the time was not right yet. 'You even went shopping and bought more food items than you have ever bought before!' Leigh said, giggling. 'Not that I am complaining!' 'I bought more because we are having guests and I want him to feel comfortable. His father is rich and gives him the best. I d

The children had lots of fun. Alexa did not bother going to work that Saturday. She took them to different places of amusement and recreation. She enjoyed herself in the roller coaster and slides in the amusement park. When she was tired, she stood by and watched her pups play. They had really accepted one another as siblings and she was glad. Next, they went to the park, fed some grains to the ducks in the pond and the children played while Alexa sat and thought how wonderful it would be if she could just get away with them right now but she had not yet finalized her plans. She was not going to rush this. I have to get it right, she thought. 'Mum, when can we see Dr. Arnold?' Landon asked. The way he had been behaving recently, if Alexa hadn't known better, she would think he was the eldest. 'Dr. Arnold?' she echoed. 'Whatever for? 'There are something's that I need to discuss with him, about... er.. my health!' he said. 'Yes, he has been vomiting since last night!' Lionel s
