“Rowan.” I grabbed his face.“What?” He looked confused. “You have never scented me.” I dropped my hands as his face fell. “Yeah, I have.” He shook his head. “Rowan. No, you haven’t.” I shook my head as I stepped back. “You always scented me as said I smelt wrong, because you were right. I had to hide my scent from Brandon. But you can’t be selective about how your scent is shared.” He nodded. “I know.” He shook his head. He wasn’t understanding what I was saying. I snorted. “Do you?” I raised an eyebrow. “Because I don’t think you do. A wolf without a scent is an abomination, so I couldn’t just stop my scent all together.” “Smart actually. I figured you stopped it around Brandon.” He still looked confused.“You know that isn’t true. You have been around me when Brandon was.” I poked his chest. “I need you to use that big brain of yours and think. If I needed to hide my scent, but couldn’t not have a scent, what option did I have left?”He stared at me for a second. “I don’t know

I laughed. “Really committed to the secret?” He whined. “It sounds stupid when you say it like that.”I laughed harder. “I think it sounds stupid when anyone says it, babe.” His head snapped up. “Babe?” I pulled my hand back and looked away, but I could feel the tips of my ears burning. “Amy?” I could hear the question in his voice and I turned back, crossing my arms to make myself feel more comfortable.“Yeah?” I braced myself. His soft words were probably meant to comfort me, but in reality, they just made me start to panic.“Will you stop hiding your scent?” His question was soft, but it jolted me from my spiral.“What?” I shook to clear my head. “What did you just ask?”He furrowed his brows. “Can you stop hiding your scent?”“Why?” I grabbed for my bottle of wine and took a sip. “Will it actually change anything?”“Yes…no…I don’t freaking no.” He pushed up from his seat and paced again. “I don’t know. That’s the goddess truth. What if we are mates? What if the goddess selected

My scent flooded my room, and Rowan froze. He pulled in deep breath after deep breath. My heat was burning my skin, and I could smell my arousal that pooled in between my legs. “Rowan.” I couldn’t face him. I couldn’t see his disappointed face when he realized I wasn’t his mate.“So fucking stupid.” His words hit me in the chest.I closed my eyes and felt the burn of tears. Not again. I took a deep breath in and stepped away. “I told you.” I shook my head and pinched myself to stop the tears from falling. “Can you please leave now?” I felt a tear escape anyway, and I sniffled. I staggered and then I pulled in another deep breath. I spun around to face Rowan. “You smell like strawberry shortcake.” His eyes were blown, the color gone.I drew in another breath, his scent filling my lungs, my mind, my soul. “You smell like vanilla and cinnamon.” I took a step towards him. I felt my stomach quiver as his scent surrounded me. “Like cinnamon rolls.” He grabbed me and lifted me up. “Mate.”

I panted below him. “Give me a second.” My face was a mask of pain. “You are so big.” I sounded breathless as he started to pull away, dragging himself out of me, causing a slight shiver. I wrapped my arms around his back. “Just wait.” He sighed, and I felt him pulsing inside of me. The idea of him so needy his cock was twitching inside of me turned me on, easing the pain a little.“Amy.” He sounded strangled as he dropped his head to my shoulder. I felt him trying to breathe, but his hips thrusted a tiny bit forward, sinking him back into my heat. “Sorry.” He groaned out as I breathed through the burn. I felt my walls fluttering, trying to get used to his size. He groaned again, pulling away slowly. “I can’t.” He pulled almost all the way out. “I want to give you time to adjust, but you feel too good. If I stay still, I will cum.” I tried to listen to his words, but the slow withdrawal of his cock had my walls dancing. My groan was long and drawn out. “I’m sorry, I’m trying to go slo

Ronnie sighed. “Good.” He smiled wide. “I was worried he took advantage of you.”Rowan scoffed. “Do you really think I would do that?”Ronnie looked over my shoulder. “I don’t know you. You are my king, and Gavin might trust you, but I do not. Not with her.” He turned to me. “Your dad needs to see you as soon as you can.” His eyes snapped to Rowan for a second. “I would shower quickly if you could.” Then he smiled at me. “I’m happy for you, bug.” He turned around and left.I closed the door with a shake of my head. Rowan got up from the bed, and I heard the soft padding of his footsteps before he wrapped his arms around me. “Let’s go shower, rabbit. I’m not ashamed of our mating, but I don’t want the first time seeing your dad being covered in your cum.”I giggled as I turned in his arms. “You have met him before. You do realize that, right?” I leaned up on my tiptoes to kiss his lips.“I know, but that was as his king, his friend, or his enemy when I was younger. This time it is goin
